| The grindstone. - Jan 31, 2008 |

I am being led along some unfamiliar streets by a male manager and an even higher female manager
from my work, I don’t know where I am being taken but I sense that wherever it is it’s important.
We eventually turn into a large building something like a mechanics workshop we walk over to an area
where I see a man with his back to us he is busy concentrating on filing a large metal roof flashing on a
spinning grindstone.
The man pauses for a moment and the managers introduce him to me, when he lifts his protective
mask I’m surprised to see that it is a male colleague I knew from my current place of work.
This man was very friendly and eventually escaped the rat race to live his dream of a simple life on
some tropical islands. |
Additional Comments: Interpretation: Simple....if I want to escape the daily “grind” then I need to sharpen up and get my
head to the “grindstone” (easier said (or dreamt) than done).
Dream 1: Return to the moon – I’m floating in outer space with two astronauts, there is possible some
kind of small spacecraft nearby. Two identical strange craft approach us they are very unusual and look
vaguely like dull orange flower pots, I’m aware that these strange objects are alien but inorganic
something like a drone. The two crafts turn on some jets near to the two astronauts and fly forwards
towing the two men towards the moon, I watch as two parachutes ripple behind them in a strange kind
of way due to the vacuum of space, it would appear that their space craft has broken down. Once at the
moon I realize that the previous moon landings really did happen as I can see the previous relics that
were left behind such as the rusty wreckage of an old Range Rover off-road car (?). As the two
astronauts bounce around on the moon’s surface I also see a huge modern war tank covered in moon
dust apparently this humungous weapon was transported to the moon on a previous mission. It looks
like in the past preparations were being made for some kind of military build-up or stockpiling of arms
here but these plans seem to have been shelved or abandoned.
Dream 3: Toilet confidence – I’m at work and there seems to be a lot of eating and drinking going on,
particularly drinking of beer. It’s a particular kind of beer in a silver and green can, the beer doesn’t
interest me and I actually find it very annoying especially when I find that somebody has dumped an
open packet of the cans under my desk. I get up to use the toilet which I discover is a glass walled
room right besides my desk, I enter into the room in full view of everyone around me and unzip my
trousers to take a pee. Nobody can actually see my privates but I feel full of confidence as I relieve
myself whilst everyone watches me (?) I look down at my privates and see that my penis looks
unusually long.
Dream 4: Overclocking – I find myself in an unfamiliar village possibly a place where I work, I realize
that my briefcase has been stolen (in reality I have no such thing). I search around the village in a
panic looking for it and eventually find it abandoned in a park or an area which looks like a school
playing field. Who ever stole it smashed it open violently to get at the contents, I see that they have
taken all of my items leaving only a book behind the book is called “Seth Dreams and Projections Of
Consciousness” by Jane Roberts (it’s a book I own but haven’t read for a couple of months). I also
discover that the thief has dropped their mobile telephone whilst they were breaking open the
briefcase, this is a perfect opportunity and I use the telephone to call the thief and see who stole my
belongings (dream logic....how could he have answered his phone if I were using it, this probably
signifies that he is an aspect of myself who I was communicating with subconsciously (telephone
symbolism)). A teenage boy answers and I eventually track him down to a local school, the boy is a
real bully and trouble maker. He seems to be very compliant and submissive toward me as he feels
that I caught him using guile by calling him with his own telephone, I force him to take me to his home
and to return my goods. Back at his parents cluttered council house I find my lap top computer which I
note has a wooden lid/screen (?), I also find the cables that go with it and also some carrier bags full of
some Arabic biscuits or cakes. I discover that the boy’s father is actually even worse than he is, the
man is a real trouble maker in fact the entire family are including the mother. I feel very threatened by
the older man but I manage to hold my ground and be brave around him he leads me into his garage
for some kind of hard words or confrontation but I keep my cool and manage to avoid conflict. I realize
that the man is actually my uncle (he is the father of my wild cousin and in waking life this man really
was very wild, the last dream I recall him appearing was in this one ‘Clumsy cousin & the No Fear
eyes.’ - 12/09/06. The uncle figure eventually gives me some respect and speaks and relates to me in
a civil manner. In my Nan’s living room the father of the boy asks a final question before I leave, he
explains that he needs to replace the odometer (milometer) on his car as it has expired or somehow
reached its limit. I tell him he will probably find one at an auto breakers but he might need to by the
entire dashboard and other clocks at the same time.
Dream 5: Death of a cat lover – I find myself up on the roof of a large church, the upper floor of this
cathedral like building has been converted or given over to a single middle aged woman who lives in it
as an apartment alone. From my high up vantage point I see the woman searching around her
apartment for her cat, she comes over to a small gothic arched window and opens it calling out to her
pet. As she leans from the window I sense the tension begin to rise and know that something awful is
about to happen, I even sense the presence of an invisible guide approach as if to calm me when the
inevitable does happen. In her efforts to see if the cat has climbed out through the window onto the
roof the woman climbs half through the window for a better view, she loses her footing though and falls
down to her death below. I peer down over the edge of the roof and see the woman’s twisted body
lying lifeless on the gravel way down below. Suddenly a decorative statue of a saint which was perched
up on the roof behind me comes to life in a stony kind of way, the grey mossy lichen covered sculpture
leans over my shoulder to look at the body of the woman down below and then says to me “Hey, don’t
look at me” (as if implying the accident wasn’t his fault) “my god wasn’t her god” (which seemed to
imply that he wasn’t obliged to watch over her as she worshipped or followed a different god to him).
Dream 6: Poolbound – I find myself outdoors in an unusual area where I am stood in a rocky pool of
water which barely comes up to my ankles, a person I knew at art college who was a bit zany leaps
into the shallow pond but he somehow gets soaked right up to the waist (?). I swim through a larger
pool of water after the old friend who is running on ahead of me, his girlfriend is here too. The pool I
swim through is just like at a proper swimming pool, I get out of the water and start to climb up a very
tall ladder to follow after my friend and get out of this unusual place. My friend appears to have taken
on the guise of a bit of a trickster and always seems to keep one step ahead. The ladder I climb then
suddenly turns to rubber and is very difficult to climb, I do manage to reach the top of the ladder
though but only to discover a small square porthole which is too tiny to climb through, the friends
girlfriend experiences exactly the same porthole and ladder problems that I do. I watch as the
mischievous friend runs off through a corridor leaving nothing else for it but for me and his girlfriend to
descend back down into the pool of water. I walk off behind me out of the water and enter an area
which is something like a very strange exhibition. There seems to a very odd and surreal show where
little people are displayed on a stage by people who own them just as if they were possessions, there is
something very distasteful about this and almost cabaret like. The area also starts to feel a bit like a
cinema particularly the area where one can stop to buy snacks, I stop at one counter to look at the
chocolate bars I see strawberry and chocolate ones they all look very real and tempting. I continue on
to another larger snack area where I see some very exclusive and expensive food, some of these
products like a giant roll of cheese and walnuts can be tasted and sampled for free, I also see a packet
of ordinary looking Butterscotch sweets they must be amazingly good as they cost 109 euros!
