Jegang the Just
Me, Garry and my parents went on holiday abroad to a place where we had never been before. We went to Ibiza and stayed at a cheap hotel that was right on the beach. However, this hotel was owned by someone strict called Jagang the Just and he was meant to be a really important emperor that was planning on making a world a better place. He was a scary looking man and you would not want to get on the bad side of him.
While we were on holiday, in the day time, I, along with many other woman staying at the hotel were made to do hard work for Jegang. We had to do a lot of cleaning and even the DIY. I didn’t get why the men weren’t allowed to work but I didn’t fancy losing my life over it so I just got on with it. We were meant to work from 9 until 5 but because Jegang liked me and I was the most hard working one there, he would allow me to finish at 3 so I had the rest of the afternoon to spend with Garry and watch the ocean on the balcony.
When I finished one day, Jagang told me to leave as it was 3. As I was walking through the corridors, the sweat was pouring off my face and I was glad that I had a cloth with me to wipe it away. When I arrived at the hotel room, I took a nice cold shower and sat on the balcony with Garry. The sea was really rough today and the waves were getting higher and higher every hour and eventually, the waves were getting scarily high to the point where everyone had to get off the beach because it was starting to flood the place.
The water was rising and I felt lucky to be on the ninth floor of the hotel as it wasn’t going to affect us. Although it was scary, it was still good to watch, so me and Garry stayed on the balcony and watched until we couldn’t stand the wind and the sea sprays no longer so we went inside and watched it from the window instead.
Garry wanted to go down on the beach and watch the waves. We went all the way down and when we went outside, the wind was really strong. As we walked along the sea front, from far ahead, I could see this huge wave coming, it was the biggest wave I had ever seen and it was heading straight for us. I knew this wave was going to cause a lot of problems and as it come closer, me and Garry ran for the door.
I knew that if this wave was to hit us, we would probably die so we ran as fast as we could and it felt like we weren’t running fast enough. The door seemed so far away and I was so angry that Garry risked our life to see some stupid big wave. We ran past my mom’s balcony, they were on the first floor but they wouldn’t be affected as the balcony was high off the ground but it would still be scary for them. The wave was getting dreadfully close now but luckily we quickly opened the door and ran inside. The lift door was about to close and Garry made it in there but it closed by the time I went for it which meant that I had to walk up nine set of steps instead.
Finally I arrived back at the hotel room and I was about to have ago at Garry for all of this when suddenly, a pole dropped onto a balcony. I got outside and had a look and it turned out that this pole was off someone’s boat. I was about to pick it up when there was a woman on a boat shouting me to throw it down. I grabbed it and threw it. That woman was very brave to be on her boat with the sea as rough as it was. There were boats everywhere, I could even see out dingy which were tied to a load of balloons so that it wouldn’t sink in the waves. My dad always found ways around things.
In the evening, my parents came up because they were getting too worried about staying in their room as the water was rising quite a bit. They were just looking out the balcony window and watching all the huge waves and people trying to save their boats. My dad was explaining about our boat and the balloons he had attached to them, he wouldn’t shut up about it at all. It was a very eventful night.

My Pet Rat
It was the summer after my first year at university and I had to go on work placement for the summer at a job that was local to me. I had an offer from the Travel West Midlands Metro Company to drive their Trams up Birmingham and Wolverhampton. I was so excited because I was always catching the trams and was watching the drivers press all the buttons and making the tram go and when I finally got to ride a tram, I was amazed and couldn’t believe that I was actually driving it.
When I was driving it, I would put it on full throttle so that it would get to the destinations faster and because used to moan about the slow drivers. The first couple of weeks of driving trams were really fun and I was always looking forward to it, however, I had to start going on night shifts which got a little scarier because dodgy people would come on and you wouldn’t know what would happen.
One night, I got into Birmingham and I had to stay there for 5 minutes because I arrived early. However, I seen someone run up the platform with a gun and started shooting at the tram so I had to quickly close the doors and drive off full throttle, luckily, he missed me but I was so scared, I really didn’t want to drive night shifts again but I had no choice and the manager did not have any sympathy for me what so ever. However, he said I could have a couple of days off to get over the shock.
In those two days, for some reason, I went back to the platform in Birmingham and was noticing that an old school friend Hollie was driving the tram. I hid behind a wall and was watching to see what was happening and then not long after, the guy started shooting off at the tram and Hollie had to quickly drive off, she wasn’t as quick as me but the guy still missed her. I didn’t know what the hell was going on with this guy and why he had such a problem with trams.
It almost came to the end of my placement and I had to fill in forms and my evaluation and as a side project, I had to go around everyone’s house and do a questionnaire about trams. I seen some of my university mates in the street and we were showing each other our questionnaires and our evaluation sheet. For some reason, mine wasn’t as good because of that incident that happened in Birmingham and the manager thought I was over reacting and therefore didn’t get the perfect evaluation like the others, this worried me about University.
I went back home and felt really disappointed and started talking to my dad on the front garden. Not long after, I seen a black and white rat with a certain mark on its nose behind this huge tree we had, it looked exactly like the pet rat I had a year ago. However, I went to pick it up and it ran off so I had second thoughts about it and went back in the house.
The next day, I had the house to myself so I decided to sit in the garden, however, when I went out, there was a load of dead rats scattered all over the garden and not far, was that black and white rat, it looked exactly like the rat I had a year ago and it even had the same mark on its nose. I quickly went over and picked it up and it just lay there in my hands, I was amazed, it was my pet rat.
When we thought it died, we buried it in the garden but it must have been in some sort of coma or something because it came back to life and tunnelled its way out of the ground. I was amazed and I was so happy to have my rat back and it was as cute as ever. When my dad got back home, I shown him the rat and at first he didn’t believe me and eventually when he did he told me just to leave it in the garden anyway, but I didn’t want to and decided to try and find a place for it to stay in my house.
I had a hamster but I only had one cage and I had a pet carrier so over night I left it in the pet carrier, however, it didn’t like it and the next day, I had to look all round the house and see where I could put it. I thought about putting it in the same cage as my hamster but then I thought the rat might kill my hamster so I left that thought to pass. I carried on looking hoping I would find something soon.
Additional Comments:
I'm suprised I dreamt this because this had nothing to do with what went on yesterday. I did have a pet rat but it died a couple of years ago and I think I dreamt of the dead rats on grass because the morning before, I was watching this program about this house and there was a couple of dead rats on the ground.
