Jealousy
Level of Lucidity: N/A Level of Cohesiveness:

I stood in my own kitchen, my real waking life kitchen, chatting with family members and hugging someone who was my boyfriend apparently. He stood up against the stove and I leaned into him comfortably, thoroughly enjoying the solid feel of him. We all moved into the living room, taking various seats, still randomly chatting. I held a 6 year old girl in my lap; she was telling me about her day and I was making plans to give her a bath. Everyone was talking a mile a minute, and I was asking the little girl (I think she was my daughter, but I can't really tell) if she woudl like a watch for her birthday? She said she would and we started discussing various styles of wristband for the watch. We both decided a purple plastic band would be the nicest. My boyfriend was getting a little jealous I think, of the attention I was paying to the girl. He started trying to talk to her about her upcoming bath. The rest of my family members really thought he was overstepping his bounds and they were very vocal about saying so. I looked at him, he grinned sheepishly at me....he and I both knew he WAS overstepping his bounds and why he was doing it. He WAS a little bit jealous of the attention directed at someone else. He calmly replied to someone of my family members that stood near the kitchen door, "I may get a little carried away sometimes, true. But it's allowed." (I think the person he spoke to was my grandmother). I nodded, finding his words wise, understanding exactly what he meant. Yes, he sometimes got jealous. No it didn't bother either one of us, we knew it was human nature and we accepted it in each other with no rancor whatsoever.
