I heard the doorbell ring late late into the night. The house was silent and everyone was fast asleep. I knew that I would not be able to sleep for wondering who was ringing my doorbell so late. I got up and couldn't find my robe, the one I normally wear, so I grabbed a different robe. As I put it on, in my mind I was remarking that I thought this particular robe had been lost. I ventured downstairs and turned on the porch light. At the door was an acquaintance named Bob Bringer. He was smiling, but I suspected he had been drinking. I asked him through the glass what he wanted. He just kept smiling and gesturing me to open the door. I would not and I turned off the light. I went around to a different window that looks out on the porch and peeked through the blinds. To do this scared me, I was terribly afraid of what I might see. But the porch was empty.

Sometime later in the night I was dreaming again and I realized it was my daughter that had rung the doorbell, having forgotten her key. She was sleeping in a different bed. Again I had to grab my robe to go see where she was, this time finding my proper robe. I looked out the window of the room she slept in, and saw that someone was ripping the roof off my garage. I looked again and saw I had been mistaken. I tried to close my eyes and picture in my mind what I had seen the first time but I could not.

Additional Comments:

After I awoke, it occurred to me that the dream felt futurish. The acquaintance, Bob Bringer has been ill for a long time due to a serious drinking problem.

Riding in a car with my Dad and Anna. Discussion about a coloseum type building being torn down nearby. My dad asked if my cat would be quite safe enough, I assured him she would be....and then I noticed we were riding under a bridge directly to the left of the coloseum. Stunned, I realized we had miscalculated, and that the building was about to come down, right on top of the bridge we were under. My dad noticed at the same time and tried to drive faster but it was too late, I watched the massive side of the brick building crumble outward, bricks starting to rain down on the bridge, then the whole structure gave way in one heave and all hell broke loose. The bridge came down on us, I told my dad and Anna that I loved them both and the car was engulfed. A bit later, I realized I was alive still, but trapped, both my dad and Anna crushed to death, and I would be left to slowly bleed and/or starve and/or suffocate to death. I awoke feeling the weight of tons of bricks on my back.

I was with a friend in someone's apartment. It was well taken care of, very open and airy. I walked out onto a small balconey and stopped short when I saw a dead bird at my feet. It was a slender blackbird and it made me shudder to look at it. Somehow I noticed that there was another dead bird inside the blackbird. The person I was with pulled it out and it turned out to be a white pelican type bird, not as large as a pelican, but larger than the blackbird in any case. I wondered how in the world the blackbird was able to swallow whole a much larger bird. Then I noticed that there was another bird in the mouth of the pelican, it looked like a hummingbird.
