A camp session is just ending and a chaotic scene is taking place in the cafeteria. I'm a little late arriving for lunch, our final meal here, and know immediately that something is very wrong. The staff has set out the food in a helter-skelter arrangement. It's difficult for us to reach the plates to set on our trays. The serving line is in total disarray with campers crossing over the usually orderly progression to get their meals. We're all confused and worried about what's happening and why.
Then we hear a commotion of loud, angry voices. A group of young men, Iranian and other middle easterners, are in a highly agitated state as they approach the cafeteria. They're arguing among themselves in a language we can't understand. I see that some of them are campers here but others have infiltrated their group and are forcing them to help take over this entire camp facility! It's a very disturbing situation.
Apparently, all of the campers were able, or perhaps forced, to leave the campgrounds. I now find myself in a place like the community where my parents retired. [There is a segment of missing time here. I recall walking along in a pleasant woodsy area on a very bright, sunny day with a familiar male beside me. We have a joyful, animated conversation.] After this, I'm by myself, speaking with some of my father's neighbors, semi-familiar people, about changes which have been taking place in the neighborhood. It seems that I'm asking them to help me find Dad's house, or wherever it is that I'm supposed to be.
Now a small group of these young foreigners come upon us and begin asking for our names and addresses. I wonder if they have followed me here from camp. I tell the polite but insistent young man who asks for my information, "I don't live here; I'm just visiting my father." And suddenly I wake up.
Additional Comments:
My father passed away in February 2000. His beloved retirement house was bought and eventually gutted by the new owners who rebuilt around part of it.
Camp, to me indicates a temporary place or period. I believe during the missing time segment that I actually did visit with my father in the spirit world.
When I responded to the young man, I probably realized somehow that my father and the house are gone and that emotional jolt took me out of the dream.
I've had many dreams that the US is infiltrated and citizens will be herded into internment camps sometime in the relatively near future.
