I went to the upstairs toilet in a pub with my umbrella still dripping and all I could see in the gents was a big square box in the middle of the room. Well what is a boy to do? I got involved in a job interview by phone: 'Is that Neil?' said the man. A pallet crashes down and I hear the resulting sounds of breaking glass on my phone and we both laugh. He was reading from an application I had sent in but had the wrong information from another man's form. He asked for my National Insurance number so I read it from memory perfectly, and then I looked up to see the guy was at a desk in front of me so we put the phones down and talked face to face.
