Genesis were singing a song in a record shop. There was a quite jovial atmosphere to the occasion. This was like watching them record one of their Eighties videos and Phil Collins had his beard back and was taking a flute solo (so was I). The song title was "Same Old Song In london Town". No - it's not in their back catalogue. In the shop I noted an abundance of teddy bears.

I was crossing a road with three troublemakers ahead of me. Two young men and a woman. I decided to hold back and let them get to the other side before me. The theme to this dream was danger. Very real danger.

Genesis were auditioning singers to take over vocals from Phil Collins, though oddly, he was still in the band playing drums. Tony Banks started up with his mellotron, with the beginning notes from Watcher of the Skies as the first vocalist got ready behind the scenes. It came right to the point where the vocals come in and the vocalist made his dramatic entrance: it was Cliff Richard, and he had obviously decided that he wanted to try out his own material because he started with the first few lines from one of his own hits:

    'Christmas time,
    Mistletoe and wine'

It was then that the song came to a crashing end as the members of the band burst in laughter!

There was a Dark Side of the Moon cassette in a biscuit tin. Metallic and silver. The brown tape had was loose in the bottom of the tin and I was trying to roll it up. A guy wanted to borrow it but I kept telling him that I wanted to get the remainder off my sister first and then try and get the tape in some order. I also had the idea of buying the album on CD so I could keep it in better condition.

Phil Collins was trying to make a speech but he was interrupted by what I think was a dude into Heavy Metal who kept telling him to eff off. Taking the piss out of what he was saying and that kind of thing.

    Additional Comments:

I was reading an article on Phil Collins the day before.
