I was at Cedar Point and getting on a new swing ride. This ride was in Frontiertown and near where Wave Swinger was. I got on and was impressed that the seats were held up with chains. There was some kind of big restraint that came down over riders' heads and positioned in their laps. It wasn't bulky or obnoxious.

Then I was near the Oceania entrance, where WindSeeker is. I walked around the side of the station building and looked out on Lake Erie. There were a lot of boats and ships on the lake. Some of them were ocean-going vessels and were loaded with cargo. I saw a tug and barge in the distance. The barge looked like it was listing to starboard, but I wasn't sure it was.

I took a few pictures of the boats with my phone since I didn't want to waste the battery on my point-and-shoot. But then far in the distance I saw Cleveland's skyline. It was much clearer than it actually is. I got in line for WindSeeker. The line started about 20 feet off the ground on a small platform on the side of a tower that I think was either the ride itself or a station building surrounding the tower.

There was no railing on this platform, so I was a little nervous up there. I walked around it to the other side and waited behind the people already in line. I got out my camera, aimed it at Cleveland and zoomed in as far as I could. It looked like digital zoom was on, which confused me because I never use digital zoom. But I snapped some bad pictures anyway. It seemed like I would move every time I took a picture.

I walked around to the other side since the line was moving as I stood there to take pictures. On the ground near the Coral Courtyard was Britney, who worked with me in 2003. I waved to say hi, but she had her back turned and didn't notice me.

Then I was at ground level and walked into the ride loading area. There were big metal arms holding the seats, but the last few feet on the right arm was a chain. I ran to the left and tried to sit in what looked like an open seat, but a girl had taken it. I found an open seat a few seats behind her. The restraint was just like the one on Wave Swinger. It was a simple metal bar that hooks to a belt on the seat.

The ride started, and I tried to take pictures of all the boats from high up.

Additional Comments:

This is my second recent dream about Cedar Point. I really need to get back there.

I recently defriended Britney on Facebook because we really only knew each other that one summer. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with her making a cameo in the dream.

    New rides at Holiday World

I was at Holiday World with Meghan, Poncho and other co-workers. I think it was for HoliWood Nights, but I'm not sure. There were a ton of new rides at the park. I got on one, which was like a big swing ride but inside a tent. The seats were simple and attached by chain, like a normal circular swing ride.

The ride spun around, and the seats moved up and down pretty far. There was no airtime, and the ride itself was mild, despite all the different movement. Since it was so tame, I grabbed an empty seat near me, pulled it toward me and used it as a table for taking notes. I wrote down the rides and other notes I keep when I go to amusement parks.

Then I was outside and near a long picnic table. Meghan was there. I looked around for the name of the ride I just got off. It was called Psych something. Not Psycho or Psych Out. Psych, and then there were two more words, but I don't remember. I wrote it down in my notebook. Meghan asked what I was doing, and I said it was how I kept track of everything I ride.

I told her that my No. 2 and No. 3 wooden roller coasters were at this park, Legend and Raven. I looked around and saw many more new rides in the distance. Far away I could see the top of a Booster-type ride. Poncho sat down on the bench next to me and asked me some questions about rides. He had a survey he was taking of co-workers. I don't remember what the questions were.

    Additional Comments:

Holiday World's Voyage is my No. 1 coaster. I don't know why I didn't mention it or remember it even existed. Legend's my No. 2, but Raven's not in my top 10. My numbering's off in my dream.

Deja Vu ride is completely different

I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain with Shawn, a college classmate. We got in the line to ride Deja Vu, but when we got to it, it wasn't Deja Vu at all. It was in the same area of the park and had the same colors and name, but it wasn't the ride. This was a big spinning ride, like a pendulum. There were two seats on one end of the arm. They were really close together.

We paid for our tickets, because it was an upcharge ride, and got in the seats. Where the seats touched, our arms were pressed together. It was uncomfortable. The ride started swinging back and forth and going higher. When it reached the peak of its swing, a little more than 90 degrees, the arm started getting shorter. This made the swings faster. Then it flipped upside down and held us there for a couple of seconds.

I could see other rides like Batman and Riddler's Revenge. Then the ride started swinging again, and the arm got longer. We got off and went around to ride again. After we got our tickets, we got in line. There were a lot of people in line this time -- maybe around 20. They waited on a small concrete ramp leading to the station.

Behind us on a straight, sloping part of the queue were two more friends. One had his arm around the other. He seemed like he was helping someone who was in pain or sick. The other guy stopped and turned around. When he faced us again, I could see he was having trouble with his eye. He said there was a large speck of dust in it and that he was having trouble getting it out.
