I was alone in my house in Kayenta when I thought I heard someone in the backyard. The dogs didn't bark, so I went back there to check it out. When I opened the door, a man walked by. He was holding something from our shed.I pushed him and asked him what he was doing. He told me not to push him. I said, "You're in my backyard without my permission, and you're taking stuff from my shed!" He said he was just borrowing it for a project he was working on. He said he lived next door.
I asked him how he got back there, and he said he opened the gate. I looked over at the gate, and the latch was gone. He just pushed open the gate, which gave the dogs reason to run out. I told him he was crazy and to just leave.
I pushed him out the gate and said I'd call the police if I saw him again. I walked him through the front yard. I was about to turn left to the house next door when a small white truck with two men inside pulled up. He ran and hopped in the truck, and it sped off. I ran to my door and looked at the license plate number. It was D 42.
I figured he and the two men had a plan to rob me while I was bothering him in the yard. I went on the computer and got the nonemergency number for the police and called it. I told them someone in a small white truck with the license plate "David four two" was driving around the neighborhood acting suspiciously.
