glaciers and animals

Date of dream: Monday, September 25, 2006

Level of Lucidity: N/A     Level of Cohesiveness:

This dream has been viewed 2139 times.

This dream was pretty continuious when i had it, but upon waking up, I could only remember bits and pieces.

Most of the dream took place out in a heavily wooded area, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. At one point in the dream, I was confident that I was in Montana.

I wandered away from the little village/camp that I was staying at, and found myself crossing over ice and glaciers. Part of the ice was frozen solid, and part was a slushy mess with ocean underneath. I could walk on the solid ice, but could only swim through the slushy part. Eventually, I was far away from the camp, and could see it off in the distance. The ice that I was standing on had seperated from the rest of the ice and the main land, and was starting to drift away from my camp. I decided that the only way to save myself was to jump into the slush and swim over to the other solid ice attached to land. I jumped into the freezing waters fully clothed, and started to swim. I kept my hands out of the water so that they would stay warm and be able to grip onto the ice so that I could pull myself out after I swam across the slushy gap. I remember being rather scared that I would stay in there too long and get hypothermia, but I ended up making it out and back to land.

Another part of the dream had me at my friend Andy's apartment, which was long and two seperate buildings. it was out in this little camp in montana. He was there and had a girl with him. She said how she wanted to get drunk, because everything was more fun then. On the door to Andy's apartment, he had a very random apartment number. It was something like 7384 6V GH362S. I didn't think to look at it twice, or I might have noticed it change and realize myself dreaming.

Another part of the dream I was with my father. We were throwing some sort of cook out party, but my dad was concerned that there wasn't enough food. He said that he hoped people brought something, or that there were donations. The building that my parents lived in was similar to a trailer.

During another part, I was walking with a female friend, whose identity i am unsure of. We sat down on a log at the base of a dam to a lake, and there was a black man next to us smoking a cigar. I remember talking to him about something, but cannot remember what. Then he pointed out a raccoon that was climbing around in the tree part way up the dam. I seem to remember another animal in front of the raccoon, but am not sure what.

While dreaming, I had to go to the bathroom in real life. My body incorperated the fact that my bladder was full into my dream, and I went in search of a restroom. I entered the bath house building, and saw a row of four or five bathtubs. Behind that wall was another long skinny room, with a row of four or five toilets. I kept walking into the third room, which had a stool with writing on the top of it. It said "Aim for the moon!". On the floor in front of the stool was a large piece of plywood type material that was painted green. It had a crescent moon cut out in one part. looking down through the hole that the moon made, I saw that it was the pit of an outhouse below the green piece of wood.

Toward the end of the dream, I was leaving a building and stumbled upon a snake crawling through the woods. He startled me, and I started to run, only to find a number of other snakes crawling around in my path. I believe that this frightened me into awakening.

Additional Comments:

I had a lot of trouble falling asleep the night before the dream. My ear was infected and bothering me. The idea of glaciers may have come from a photograph I have recently seen, I was recently at Andy's apartment, and I talked about having a camping cookout with a friend the night before this dream.
