My mother died suddenly and unexpected. I was dealing with the weight of that fact and trying to continue doing my business as usual.

    Lucidly playing basketball

I left our house in Evansville at night and started walking through the yard to the pole barn. I had the intention of going down there to play basketball. Suddenly, a car drove past the house and I heard someone say "look at that wolf". Soon I saw what appeared to be a small pack of coyotes come into the yard. One of them approached me, but I kicked at it and it left me alone. I continued down the yard and started to hear the sound of a loom beating in the pole barn. I was confused as to why my mother was weaving in the pole barn, or if she was. I passed my old playset and noticed that there was a light on inside of it. I was again confused, but continued down and entered the pole barn. Sure enough, my mother was there and weaving on a loom. She was wearing a purple shirt. As I entered, she asked me if I wanted some yogurt lunchmeat. I knew now that I was probably dreaming, since she was acting so bizarre. I patted her on the back and said "looks like somebody's dreaming". I thought that maybe I should wake myself up so that I remember what my mother said, but decided that I would try to do some things first. I decided that I would play basketball like I originally intended. I knew that I could will the ball into the basket, so I started taking crazy shots and they usually went in. I also knew that I could jump as high as I wanted so I decided to dunk the ball. Then I remembered Laurette telling me about how strange jumping is in dreams so I just tried to jump up normally. I slowly floated back down, and was enjoying the new physics of dreamland. I continued to play basketball, but was starting to miss the shots. I tried laying the ball in from close and couldn't make any shots anymore. Eventually, I fell over into a large box and my hand landed in a pile of cat feces. I had something in my mouth (maybe gum) and I began spitting it out. I wanted to change my surroundings so I tried to spin but since I was lying down in a box I couldn't and nothing happened. My surroundings quickly faded and I woke up.

    Additional Comments:

This dream was recorded at 12:02 pm. My mother is a weaver and I have heard the beating sound of a loom my entire life.

    reggae concert at BCHS

I was at Brown County High School, and I had just come back from some sort of break. Trad was getting married that day, and I found him and congratulated him. His fiancee was next to him, but I didn't recognize her. I went to my locker in the commons, and it seems that my mother was following me around. I tried to open my locker but I couldn't remember the combination. Eventually after several attempts it finally opened. It seems like our lockers had been "spammed" over break, and a lot of solicitation had been slid into them. The people around me who were also at their lockers seemed to be the regular people whose lockers I was next to. There was a reggae concert taking place down the hall, and I was packing my backpack full of things I would need for the concert. I remembered to grab a blanket and bottle of water. Renee K. and my mother were telling me where they would be sitting so that I could find them whenever I got to the concert. I could hear the music starting from a distance - it seemed very familar, as if it were a song I had heard a lot, but I don't think it really was.
