I was riding around with my parents and sister, and I think my sister was driving the car. We were taking some backroads through Posey to get to some sort of a shopping place. It was dark outside and I was unhappy about our destination. At one point I decided I didn't want to go and I had them pull the car over. I decided that I was going to walk the creek back to our house, even though I knew it was several miles away and I didn't really know where I was going. I had my backpack with all of the survival supplies I needed and was prepared to camp in the woods if I had to. My family wasn't thrilled about me leaving but I was even less thrilled about going shopping with them. When I got ready to leave an old man appeared and was driving his 4WD SUV up the creek bed where I was getting ready to hike. I knew I was beyond Mt. Vernon and I figured if I walked to there I could find my way home. Strange dream.

Additional Comments:

I just returned from a hiking and wandering trip in Scotland.

I was backpacking and hiking through the woods. I was just starting off, and decided that I was going to do some amount of miles by myself. I stopped to cook dinner and three black bears came walking up the hill towards me. I started to freak out and rushed to put my food away. I knew I needed to hang my food up from a tree so the bears didn't come after me. One of the cubs ended up coming at me anyway, so I threw it down the hill.

    Additional Comments:

Dream recorded at 10:00 am. I recently hiked through bear country.

I was riding to Montana with the caravan of suburban cars, with one of the instructors Bruce driving my car. We were driving past this small christian town which apparently used to be booming, but was now run down and deserted. They had suffered economic failure and all of the businesses had to shut down for some reason. It was essentially a ghost town now. I remember thinking how property value was probably low, and I should buy a large plot of land and build a nice house among the deserted town. Apparently the town had a lot of local coal to burn, but I guess nobody wanted to use coal anymore.

Eventually, the caravan stopped at a post office in a small town. For some reason I had been smoking, and I needed to hide my pipe before the professors found it. At first, I hid it in the bottom of a grocery sack full of quarters that I had in the back of the suburban, but I was worried that they would find it there so I hid it in a compartment in the back. Inside the post office, there was a rack full of potato chips, and some of the students were buying them. I considered doing the same, because I was pretty hungry. There was also a gun mounted on the wall, and I knew that it must have been a hunter check-in location. The two instructors, Bruce and Ed, took us for a hike on the nature trail that ran behind the post office. I guess we were discussing the rocks behind the post office or something to that effect. Along the trail there was a long and thin wooden box that opened up. It said something like "Mail Drop" on it, but I thought it was where they kept the trail maps.

Bruce said something about how we should just abandon the use of computers all together, because out where we were hiking and out in nature computer type doesn't even get used so it isn't worth using. He also suggested that whenever we got to where we were sleeping later tonight that maybe we could do another little hike around the trails, just to get in the mood for hiking in Montana. Jeff O was the only student that I recognized.

    Additional Comments:

This dream was recorded at 8:14 am. I will be going to Montana this summer again, and it will probably be somewhat similar to what I dreamed.
