I was backpacking and hiking through the woods. I was just starting off, and decided that I was
going to do some amount of miles by myself. I stopped to cook dinner and three black bears came
walking up the hill towards me. I started to freak out and rushed to put my food away. I knew I
needed to hang my food up from a tree so the bears didn't come after me. One of the cubs ended up
coming at me anyway, so I threw it down the hill.
Dream recorded at 10:00 am. I recently hiked through bear country.

I was in the residential part of a city of some sort. I saw a Japanese couple who were driving
around in a small topless SUV, like a Geo Tracker. They were taking lots of pictures. Specifically,
they would take a picture of a street, wait until the direction of traffic shifted on the street, as
it did at certain times of the day, and then take pictures of the shifted traffic. It seems for a
bit I was riding around with the Japanese couple, but then it turned into Laurette. She was telling
me about one of her past jobs. She described a job she used to have at an Italian Police Department,
a job which she got because she is part Italian. She described how she would have to step up three
steps when she got to work, and how you had to knock on the door to the stairwell in case someone
was coming down. Then she offered to take me there and show me. We drove to the Police Station and I
could read Italian Police Station above the door. She told me about how they only used Mercedes Benz
cars at the station, so that they could import their cars and not have to rely on american cars,
even though we were in an american city.
The police station itself was inside a large old house. When we got out of the car, I realized I had
some marijuana on me, so I tucked it into my sock with hopes of it not being found. I saw a cop pull
up to the station in a junky old green car - since they only imported their cars, they didn't get
new cars very often. We went into the station and the lady working the front desk seemed to
recognize Laurette. There were three short and wide steps, like she described, that led up to where
the front desk was. The steps seemed to be plated with some sort of red, yellow, and blue stone on
the front, and Laurette counted one two three as she climbed them. After these steps there was a
large door, and we were told to knock on the door before opening it. Someone was on the other side
ready to come through and they knocked first. The lady who came through the door seemed to be one of
Laurette's friends who I recognized. She acted like she was expecting us, but didn't stop to talk.
We went through the door and climbed up the stairway. Laurette was amazed at how different
everything looked from when she worked there. There was spray paint on the walls that she said
didn't used to be there, and in some of the rooms we walked past everything was very messy. She
wanted to see her old room that she used to live in while she worked here, so we climbed up the
stairs some more until we found it. There was a man living in there now who was asleep across the
room. She could tell that I was uncomfortable walking into the bedrooms of people and she felt a
little embarassed going into his room. She said to me "you don't really want to be here doing this,
do you?" and then she said that she didn't feel to comfortable doing it either. Before we left the
bedrooms, I told her that I wanted to look out the window and see how high up we were. There was a
nice view from the window, which we admired for a moment before going back downstairs.
I awoke from this dream at 5:08, after going to sleep at about 1:30. The song "Painted Eyelids" by
Beck was stuck in my head.
Upon going back to sleep, I had another dream that seems to be a continuation of the first dream. I
was still at the police department, and one of Laurettes old friends was cooking dinner for the
station. The table was set for several people, but not very many showed up. I got the impression
that nobody at the station liked her cooking, but I didn't think it was bad. She had cooked potatos,
chicken, and bread. The potatoes were sliced and baked, and coated in a creamy white sauce. After
eating for a bit, I suddenly found myself staring at the sky outside through a window. I could see
thousands and thousands of stars, many more than can be seen from earth. The stars were moving very
quickly through the sky, like it was shot in time-lapse (like the moon in THIS dream). I could see
some constellations drawn out with lines connecting the stars, and the stars moved in a circular
motion like they actually do through the night sky. While I was observing the stars, I felt like I
was standing up and watching them, but also sitting at the dinner table at the same time. While
looking at the stars, I could hear a very strange pulsing hum noise. I was very confused and turned
to ask the other people there if they could see and hear what I was experiencing. I then realized
that I was no longer in the police station, but now in the basement at my parents house. There was
still a dinner table set up, but my mother and father were sitting at the table now, in addition to
some of the people who were there at first. My dad responded to my question and said that he felt
like he was at work, and so he wasn't on the same page as me. I looked down and saw one of our cats
running around in the basement, and soon after I was sitting down at the table again. I described my
star gazing experience to my family as like I was meditating (upon awaking, it almost feels like it
was an astral projection). It really felt like I was somewhere else. At the dinner table again, I
drank all of my water and thought about taking one of the glasses that wasn't being used next to me.
There was one piece of chicken left, and one of the guys at the table that I didn't know cut it. I
took the smaller piece so that he could have the larger one.
After I was done eating, I started to go upstairs and I saw something that was supposed to be a
profile of me. It had a list of a couple things that I liked and a couple that I didn't like. The
only thing I can remember from the list is that it said that I didn't like "Shoemakers".
I awoke from this dream at 6:58.
Man, I need to quit remembering so many details.

Trad and I were walking around with a couple other people, and we ended up hiking up this big
mountain in a creek bed. (Hiking in a drainage, similar to what i did a few days earlier in the
adventure race)...so we were hiking up, and I guess we were carrying a giant white water raft with
us so going back down would be easier, but the raft was pretty large compared to the creek bed.
Anyway...at the top of the mountain there was this house...and I think somoene with us knew the
people that lived there, but we ended up breaking into the house and they had dinner on the table.
Our quest was to find potato wedges and blackberries...and eat them together...because they were the
perfect combination of foods. Luckily, the dinner on the table had potato wedges that were still
warm, but there werent many blackberries in the house...we found a few in the freezer I think. So
anyway, while we are in the house, a couple people come home and I get a little worried, but they
are chicks and they know one of the people with us, so its all cool...then some guy comes home and
gets angry and maybe even threatens to call the cops...so we leave. while we are outside at the top,
trad and I are in a giant two headed tick costume...we looked over the edge, and it was like we were
at the top of a building rather than a mountain...some guy at the bottom complimented us on our
costume. So we went down the mountain stream in our white water raft wearing a two headed tick
costume, and I think there was a celebration or something at the bottom of the mountain.
The tick costume came from a quite one of my professors gave us from the cartoon "the tick" -
..."Science is a two headed beast. One head is good. It brings us advances like asprin. But the
other head - Oh, beware of the other head of science! It bites!" - The Tick
