I am on a large ship bobbing in an ocean storm at night. They are worried about the ship sinking, and are trying to stretch a large tarp attached to the side of a ship to a dock to secure it and keep it from capsizing. I am swimming in the cold ocean desperately trying to secure this tarp and stabilize the boat. In another part there are a group of surfers that are dangerously surfing in stormy weather without any safety gear. The waves would send them flying away from their boards and we were worried someone was going to drown.

After this I am in choir class again with the kids that I took a course in Scotland with. We are trying to sing the US national anthem and I am trying desperately to keep my bass part but everyone is singing out of key and it sounds terrible. We decide to try it a 2nd time with MG playing a flute to back up the voices. She is trying to signal time with her hand but again it sounds terrible and we eventually just give up singing.

Additional Comments:

This dream was recalled in a hostel in Edinburgh, Scotland, the night before I flew back to Indiana. I had spent three weeks in Scotland and had seen many boats and some surfers.

Car sinking in a "filth pit"

I am staying with a friend at their grandparents house in a guest room. Eventually we leave and I find myself in the back seat of a SUV with my friend next to me. I don't know the two people in the front. The driver is driving very quickly and we are going down long, windy wooded mountain roads at a steep grade. I had the sensation of riding on a roller coaster, as we "flew" down the hills. I was clinging to the handles in the car to ease my fears. We passed through a few mountain mining towns and eventually started heading out of the mountains. A large lake came into view in the distance surrounded by a big city. Someone in the car said the name of the lake and how it was a "filth pit". As we get closer to the lake and the city you could tell that it was pretty well developed. The buildings and structures were modern and asthetically pleasing. As we were nearly at lake level the highway ran parallel to the shore of the lake, and alongside a roller coaster track that was built over the lake. The tracks seemed to follow the highway for quite awhile. We continue to speed along the highway which turns into a causeway when suddenly the road dives into the lake. Our car crashes into the water and starts to sink.

I realize that this scenario is too familiar and bizarre and this must be a dream. I am sinking in the water and I try to change my surroundings or fly away but it isn't working.

Immediately I wake up and I am in the house where I started (the friends grandparents house). I want to record my dream so I frantically look around the room and eventually find a pencil and piece of paper (looked like a ripped envelope) in the drawer of the desk. The grandfather was at the door of our room and wanted in. I told my friend to distract him and I took the paper and pencil into the small bathroom in the room to record my dream. The bathroom had a closet door instead of a real door.

    Additional Comments:

The grandparents guest room is a similar arrangement as I had when I went to Florida a year or two ago.

The last dream that I had posted to this site was about crashing a car into water and sinking. I recently read it and decided that I needed to start dreaming again.
