I was in a library looking for a cassette player in a library because I had an old cassette I wanted to listen to. An old man was annoyed with me for trying to take the cassette player (which was his?). Even when I did find the right cassette player, I realized I didn't have the right kind of headphones.

Possible interpretations:

To see a library in your dream symbolizes the knowledge you have accumulated over the years.
To see an old man in your dream represents wisdom or forgiveness. The old man may be a archetypal figure who is offering guidance to some daily problem.

In this dream, I was a firefighter, and I'm also fairly certain that I was a man. I drove a firetruck to the scene of several fires. I don't remember much about the first fire, but the second one was at the location of one of the houses I lived in as a child - only it was now set up more like a hotel than a house. I lingered behind for a bit before joining the rest of the crew to put out the remaining small fires - they weren't very large. Originally I believed that there was no one in the building, but then we realized there was an old man who had survived, seemingly unscathed. My dream ended just as they were extricating him from the rubble. I was inside the building, still wetting down the ashes of what was left behind. I felt a bit apprenhensive but mostly confident about my job.
Additional Comments:
Last night before I went to sleep I was in a more hopeful mood than usual. I think my success at handling driving the firetruck and helping to put out the fires means I have some confidence in myself to handle responsibilities.
