I have a long, incredibly intense dream that was full of magic and all kinds of supernatural things.  I wake up abruptly, though, and instantly forget every detail about it.  I stay awake for about twenty minutes trying to recall anything, but NOTHING comes back except for a part at the end where a voice was singing some of the words to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."  Specifically, it was the part, "... like a diamond in the sky."

I go back to sleep and enter a new dream in which I'm jogging outdoors.  Confusion follows, something about a surgery on someone's "chest wall," and an angry friend from real life, C___.  I'm cutting my fingernail and the whole thing starts to come off, so I just push it back against the nail bed and I can see it adhering to it again through the semi transparent material of the nail.

I wake up.

I had trouble remembering my dreams, and I woke up at 6 AM. So I decided to go back to sleep and try to have a brand new dream, since I didn't have to go to work and could sleep in late anyway.

But I laid there for a very long time, my mind buzzing and wide awake. I thought about everything that was remotely unimportant, and I thought about the important things as well.

Finally, after about an hour and a half of this, I felt my pulse drop suddenly. What almost seemed like a cool breeze swept across my chest, even though I was under a quilt. The next thing I knew, I was floating through the walls of my house as if they were made of air.

I was very lucid. As I went through the last wall to the outside, I wondered what I should do. A long sequence followed (which I am having some trouble remembering now) in which I met a young woman who seemed to have some supernatural powers. I do recall looking at her right in the eye and thinking, Maybe some of her powers will rub off on me if I make eye contact with her.

But she was too smart to just let me do that; the dream morphed and changed around me so that, before I knew it, I was no longer lucid and preoccupied with things that I should have known weren't real.

For one thing, Grandma was in my house bustling around and doing housework (she died in the 1980s!). Then there was something about a tall, attractive man coming to visit me and, while I felt interest in him, he morphed right before my eyes from someone who looked real to one who had a bit of a cartoon appearance. Yet I did not become lucid again.

There was something about Native Americans and jewelry (forgotten). Then I found myself in a strange house with my brother, B___, and some small kids he was taking care of. While he watched them, he was scrubbing an outdoor patio's concrete surface.

A large spider crawled down a pipe towards me and I recoiled in fear (I dreamed this, I'm sure, because we were just talking at work about how dangerous the brown recluse spider is).
