A family who are my (dream) friends are helping me fix up my (dream) place, an apartment on a second floor. The energy of everyone, including myself, is incredible -- I don't think I could do housework and painting like this in real life without getting completely exhausted after only a few minutes. A woman my age shows me how she's sanding all the rough parts on the cabinets, and I get ready to slather a layer of paint on them.
Then I notice that someone has put the cat dishes into a corner so no one will trip over them. I see the pan that has honey in the bottom of it, with a layer of water over it, and dream logic tells me this is as it should be, this is how my cats need it set up in order to drink the honey. (is there a group called "Honey in the Water?" I'll have to look that up on Google).
Then I worry that my cats are getting neglected during all this work. How long has it been since I put out cat food for them?
Later, at dinner, there are two Asian sisters dressed up in evening gowns on my left. The one directly to my left is my wife and is whispering suggestive things that we could do later on (forgotten ... also, I seem to be straight in this dream -- it happens every once in a great while).
"You know your sister has the amazing ability to hear everything you say no matter how softly you talk!" I whisper back nervously.
Indeed, the sister is smirking at what she has overheard, but my wife doesn't care.
Then they argue very unpleasantly with each other. Finally, they resolve the dispute. I ask my wife why she argues like that with her sister.
"Friends would have left each other after a fight like that, but we're sisters," she explains. "We can resolve things better this way than by just talking, which is what people who aren't family with each other do." (oddly, this echoes a sentiment my sister expressed to me on the phone recently -- she argues with her three kids all the time, but insists that it makes them closer, not farther apart).
I go outside into the vegetable garden and magically breed a black cat by "combining" a bunch of black cats together. Then I decide to let it in the house with my other cats. It gallops wildly past them and snarls. My two cats back away in fear.
I wake up.

I was supposed to transport a tube of blood that had something to do with a cure for HIV. I became partly lucid, because
I decided to use supernatural powers to do this, but I didn't seem to notice how low the quality was of the dream's sets
and special effects. Indeed, I didn't seem to WANT to realize completely it was a dream, for I thought the plot was
exciting and I wanted to follow the story through. However, what I didn't realize was that this very thing is one of my
dream cues for lucidity...when a dream's special effects start to decline, that's a signal for me to realize that the
framework of a regular dream is about to give way for something more substantial (and perhaps supernatural) in nature.
I flew over the bay next to the city I live near IRL to bring the tube to the backyard of someone's mansion. I noticed that
the layout of the ocean and the city was wrong, but pushed the thought to the back of my mind. I landed in the lush
garden behind the mansion. It was on a cliff right above the bay, and the flowers in it were pretty. But that was the only
thing about the dream that seemed to be holding together.
I went to mix some water from the garden's decorative fountain in with the tube of blood. But suddenly the blood inside
the tube was gone. I decided to pretend like there hadn't been any blood in it all along, and my mission was still to get
some of the fountain's water into the tube in order to help the scientists who were doing HIV research.
Someone began pursuing me. But even this person was vague and ill-defined by my dreaming mind. Still, I pretended
like they were real and I flew up in the air again to get away from him/her. I flew around the city for a while, and
eventually came to a stop near a train platform. I needed to fly past a whole crowd of people that were waiting for a
train, so I did my usual technique of staring at a point off in the distance to fly in that direction. But it didn't work very
well. I slowly flew in between the standing figures, but as I passed them they began to look cartoonish and not very well
rendered.
I arrived at some Disney-esque theme park. I got on a ride that had little cars that went by exhibits that were strung
along an underground corridor. Things became extremely confused, and I found myself lost in a corridor that led away
from the main one.
I woke up and kicked myself for not realizing that I had been right on the verge experiencing a more important dream.
