I belong to a family of witches. The only members of my real life family are my father and my brother, B___ -- the rest of them are dream family members.
We get on a broom-like (but high tech) device to fly us back somewhere. But it starts rising high into the sky out of control. Becoming a little lucid -- and also somewhat annoyed the dream isn't going exactly the way I want it to -- I bring the contraption back down to the ground just by using my thoughts.
It starts raining on us, so we break out a giant umbrella. Two of my teenage (dream) relatives want to gossip with each other without the rest of us hearing them, so they talk over the top of the umbrella ... and get soaked.
"Lousy way to gossip!" I say, somewhat meanly.
I get out what looks like a cracker-jack style, plastic magnifying glass. "Let's just do instantaneous space travel to get back to our place," I say. "This is a device for that."
But that makes me recall how I'm using that very expression in the novel that I'm writing in real life. The "hyperawareness" this creates in my dream starts causing me to wake up, but I desperately want to see if I can pull this kind of travel off in a lucid dream.
However, before I can get my finger down to the lens to touch it, I wake up.
