When I first got up this morning it was barely daylight. The time change put things back into the dark, almost. As usual, I went into the kitchen to open the blind over the sink. Uh oh, we left the window open all night. Yesterday was springlike, but it is not that warm as yet. I shut the window and look around in the dim early light. No one else is up yet. I decide to go over to my desk and see what is happening on Dream Journal this morning. I push the yellow note pad around a bit to straighten it on the desktop and tap on the mouse.

I look at the date and the time as the monitor screen lights up.

WOW!! The time on the clock by the bed says 7:52 AM. Now that was a FALSE AWAKENING, if ever I had one.

Now that I am back to the computer @ 10:21 AM, I decided to record the false awakening before doing anything else.

Here is a snippet from last night’s dreams that sticks in my mind.

4:30 AM. (I look at the clock whenever I wake up, even if I don’t rouse myself to roll over and make notes.)

At a celebration event too large to be held indoors, I proceed across large expanses of lush green lawns, in the sunlight, in the midst of many happy, attractive, chattering people. I am heading toward a service area that backs an elegant series of pavilions being set up to serve all the invited guests.

I approach a booth of some sort, where a large vigorous man sporting a truly remarkable beard is clearly in charge. His beard is neatly trimmed to a nearly circular shape. It silky and luxuriously clean and snowy white except for the darker, silver gray area directly below his lower lip. He is large and in charge and very cheerful and friendly.

As I draw near, he call out: "Now, can I________?" Eagerly, I respond: "Yes, you can!" and I prepare to give him a friendly hug as soon as I can reach him.

To my complete astonishment, he grabs me up and lifts me bodily above his head. This is no mean feat. I feel my full adult bodily weight rise above the ground and I feel the mighty surge of his bodily strength lifting me up and then setting me down again. I brace my hands on his shoulders for balance. Back on the ground, I exclaim: "No one has done that with me for a long time!" Then I ask: "Are you OK?" "You didn’t strain yourself, did you?"

We are both laughing and a bit out of breath, as I suddenly wake up from the dream.

November 3, 2012 Written 3:30 PM, pdt (We go back to standard time tomorrow.)

The waking up dream event in my mind this morning (when my spouse shook me awake) keeps coming back.

All by myself, I am just happily being cheerful and frivolous as I return through space from my night time dream adventure(s.) From very close by, a friendly voice suddenly exclaims: " What are YOU?"

My first thought is "I am a hot neutron/neuron(???)" Then I clear my mind, and frame the answer in the shape of the meditation from the previous evening as I fell into sleep. "I am a persistent 98.6 F warm spot in the waves and particles of existence."

Before I am able to return the greeting and respond: "What are You?" (and to see who has joined me in the dream) I am wide awake for the day.

This tiny slice of lucid dream keeps demanding my attention as the day wears on. It makes me laugh. I went from lucid awake to lucid asleep and back to lucid awake again, from the beginning of the sleep period to the end of it, and now on into the waking side of life today.

I do expect that any dream as clear and persistent as this ought to be shared with other dreamers. It is certainly a dream that would make very little sense to my spouse or all the people in the waking side of my life today. LOL
