I only remember the end section of this dream from this morning.  I don’t remember why I was in this house or what trials I had already been through but at this point I was trying to escape and people on the outside were waiting for me.  I had made it through most of the house unharmed but as I crawled down into the kitchen I could see down into the next level of the house that a beast of unknown kind guarded the door leading me to the outside.  No windows existed in the kitchen so the only way out was past the beast.  I felt the beast was demonic in nature but he looked physical enough that I thought I could hurt him if I needed to.  The room had blood everywhere and the beast had no fur but was pink with blood oozing out of its pores all over…its eyes were huge and bulging from their sockets and even more interesting the beast could talk.  It knew I was in the kitchen and since it was chained to a wall it couldn’t come after me just yet.  The chain was long enough that I knew I couldn’t get by it to make it to the door.  So I turned around to look for some sort of weapon and as I found two very large butcher knives the beast told me “I guarantee you, you won’t leave here”.  I told the beast as I grabbed the knives and turned in his direction, “I guarantee you I will”.  As I jumped down from the kitchen level into the room with the beast I realized my one knife in my left hand was facing the wrong direction and as I turned it in my hand without looking the beast had realized what I was doing and tried to lunge at me.  I had gotten the knife turned around a lot more quickly than it had attacked and I stuck the knife into its side.  I went to swing my hand with the butcher knife on my right side to hit him in the neck but the contact from the first knife made the beast howl with pain, which shook me to my core.  I decided at that point to drop the knife in my right hand and run like hell and I was to the door and already on the other side by the time the beast knew what had happened.  I could still hear it howling as I ran and kept running past the group of people waiting for me on the outside.  They started to run after me.   Once I thought I had put enough distance between that awful house and me I stopped and told them my story.  One member of the group asked me why I didn’t have salt and holy water with me and another asked why I left the knives.  Both were good questions but to the knife one I answered “and bring that beasts blood with me? Are you crazy?”…lol.  They all laughed and we had decided that before going on anymore adventures that we should be more prepared.

Additional Comments:

I would have nightmares quite frequently as a kid and my grandmother had told me that if I put a cross in my room and ask God to protect me when I sleep I wouldn't have nightmares.  I did that and it worked until I moved out of my bedroom.  The nightmares returned even after I placed another cross and prayed that I wouldn't have them.  So I decided that I needed to face them and be more hands on with them and as the years have gone by I have truly done just that.  I from time to time have some pretty awful ones that really get to me but for the most part ones like the above do not scare me anymore.  I feel so confident that I won't be harmed that it doesn't phase me much anymore.  I think this dream was telling me about a trial that I've either already encountered and won or one that will be coming up in the days/months/years ahead and since I overcame that trial I think I'll be just fine.
