I am at my Nan’s house it feels like her place but looks distorted and different somehow stretched and much longer than it is waking life, the area where her house is occupies a space much wider or more horizontal than normal.

A huge pet tiger that belongs to my wife and I is running athletically up and down the garden, the magnificent beast at least 15 feet long of pure sleek muscle has incredible energy and seems to be running as if trying to burn off excess energy and exercise itself.

Everyone (vague unfamiliar dream characters in the background) are afraid of the tiger except for my wife and I, my wife and I have great respect for the tiger and realize that it is much stronger than the both of us. After the tiger has run about for a while my wife picks the huge feline up in her arms (unusual considering its enormity?) and places him in the front foot well of the passenger seat of a small white hatchback car (which recurs quite often in my dreams). The beast seems very disciplined and approachable there is a sense of its great power and fearsome aggression lying just beneath the surface though.

Thoughts: Something that this dream has made me think about is how I recall reading that everything in a dream represents some portion or aspect of the dreamers self (an idea I find very appealing and which seems very accurate, at least as regards my own dreams). The idea of objects, creatures, other people, buildings etc representing the self is quite believable to me and easy to relate to on waking life reflection but I’ve found with dreams of closer relatives such as like with my wife in this dream much harder to see things using that mindset even though I think that ‘rule’ if its what it can be called perhaps still holds true.

Dream 2: Mad Mike’s many legs – It is night time and I find myself in America on a family trip with my Wife, Mum, stepfather, and brother-in-law (possibly some other relatives who remain in the background too). We have stopped at a petrol station to fill up with fuel which is near to a familiar place in waking life (in France) which is a school and bus stop not far from where I live. After filling up I go inside to pay and as I wait in the queue I pick up three music CD’s to look at and consider buying , one is by the rock group Queen, this CD is unappealing and I place it back in the rack no sooner than I have realized who the band is. I cannot recall the musician or band whose music is on the second CD, but the third compact disc contains music by somebody called Neil Young (I don’t know this singer or his music and have only vaguely heard of him in the past) I decide to purchase the Neil young CD based on the masculine moody pose the singer makes on the front cover. The pump attendant asks me which pump I used but I forget so go back out to check, the pump is unusually far away from the paying kiosk (just outside the entrance to a school), I see that I used pump number 3 and head back to pay at the petrol station. But as I make my way back I see from a distance a gang attackings my relatives, I decide to cowardly get into my white hatchback car and flee before I am seen. I drive off in a blaze of tire smoke but soon realize that I am being chased by the same gang that was heckling my family, I try to do one of those fancy ‘moving hand back turns in the road and continue going in the opposite direction’ stunts like in the movies but get a bit stuck and end up travelling sideways, I eventually end up driving into a dead end. I get out of my car and see that I am accompanied by a man roughly my age with his hair in the style of blond dreadlocks this man walks down to a window set in an old redbrick wall at the end of the dead end street. A hand suddenly darts out from the warehouse like window and lunges at the man with the white man with the dreadlocks grabbing and pulling him in through the window by his hair. The assault and kidnapping looks very painful and I realize that he has been kidnapped and pulled though a window by some gangsters. A man called ‘Mad Mike’ comes out from inside the dead end warehouse, he seems friendly enough but quite mad as his name would suggest, at first I see that he wears an astronauts soft hat (the kind worn under the helmet) but when I look again he bizarrely has a whole leg for a head (from thigh to toe), he also has legs for arms and well legs for legs (as normal!). I try to talk and reason with the man over the kidnapping, he is amenable and seems willing to listen to me.

It is daytime in an unfamiliar Wizard of Oz like setting I find myself on an unusual dusty track in dreamy countryside. I am travelling in a little one person hovercraft* that was given to me by the colleague who I work with who is absolutely fanatical about cars, the vehicle is a pleasure to drive and quite effortless and very responsive.

As I pull up to a junction I see the same colleague whizz past on the main road in his own two- seater hovercraft with an unfamiliar friend of his travelling in the passenger seat. The work colleague’s hovercraft is zipping along at incredible speed he seems to be on the very edge of losing control, suddenly the craft shoots off down an embankment and splashes into a pond.

I quickly steer my hovercraft over to where I saw them disappear for a better look as I feel almost certain that they must have been thrown from the craft when it tumbled down the slope towards the pond. But I’m surprised to see the colleague looking slightly shaken gingerly manoeuvring his craft about on the water, I then remember that hovercrafts can travel on water as well as land but I still think my colleague was fortunate not hurt himself with his wild driving and I think he knows this too.

I continue on along the little road and arrive at a strange tent like building structure which is made from a network of tubing which is clad in semi-opaque polythene sheeting. I get out from my hovercraft and go inside the strange tent building to explore.

I stroll slowly and inquisitively about the strange structure when suddenly I see a baby jaguar wander in behind me, the creature pounces on me and we struggle fiercely on the floor. The baby feline is incredibly strong and I have to use all of my strength to overpower it, I feel that its either me or the cat so I use great force and break the creature’s neck to kill it.

The jaguar immediately goes limp in my arms and I carry the warm furry corpse through the polythene clad rooms looking for somewhere to discard the dead body, as I do this I have a minds eye vision of a dusky night time moorland where a savage wild beast roams, this visionary creature looks like a ravenous totally savage monstrous masculine hyena.

The vision is interrupted when I hear something else enter the polythene construction behind me, this time I see a baby white Siberian tiger come padding in this feline is extremely chunky, pudgy and muscular. The creature heads directly for me and I sense that it wishes to attack me possibly for what I did to the jaguar or as a more powerful evolution or incarnation of the deceased big cat.

The baby tiger is far too much for me to handle though and it looks immensely strong even though it is just a baby, I decide to lead the tiger out through the polythene walled building and into another more homely lounge like room which is occupied by my wife and some unfamiliar dream friends of hers.

I silently and stealthily indicate to my wife my intentions to lead the cat out through an open window in the sitting room where she is sat. Once I climb into the windowsill I see a large sprawling fairy tale like garden with a maze of tall walls which recede off into the distance for as far as the eye can see.

I climb out through the window and decide to tiptoe out onto the top part of the wall of the maze I then balance my way across the top of the wall in order to lead the tiger outdoors into the maze and out of harms way.

    Additional Comments:

Thoughts: *I’ve had the symbol of the hovercraft appear in some of my past dreams but never have I actually driven one myself in a dream (or waking life), I think that this is very important symbolism and almost certainly represents some kind of progress concerning how I approach the various challenges my life’s path regardless of the rest of the struggles in the dreams drama. The hovercraft might represent the ability to be able to traverse both emotional (water) and physical (earth) issues, and the various felines in the dream probably represent sexuality and instinctual animal behaviours in some form or another I feel.

Dream 1: Sexual ties – It is morning time outdoors on a mountain where my wife and I have something of an open air alpine chalet, my father has come to visit and my wife, Dad and I are sat around a small circular table half indoors and half outdoors about to share breakfast together. There is strong underlying tension and my wife suddenly says everything to my father that I would like to in waking life (but in a frustrated and pitying sort of way don’t see any point in doing). My father becomes incredibly embarrassed and full of shame and quickly packs to leave so as to avoid further confrontation. I feel awkward and embarrassed too although strangely happy that my wife confronted him with what I felt was the truth. I feel anxious so go to the bathroom and obsessively and compulsively wash my hands in sink. As I look in the bathroom mirror I see my great uncle looking back at me he smiles and gives me a wink as if to say “Don’t worry, everything will be okay”. After the incident I walk down and into a strange almost tropical area which has the very particular and exact ambiance of a Dutch colony about it on a tropical island. As I walk through a small tribal village with bamboo and grass huts in the form of beach bars I see a half naked lady in a grass skirt standing to my right, the woman has huge exposed breasts and I see that she is wearing a mans pink novelty neck tie which has the long shape and semblance of a huge penis, the way the tie hangs in-between the woman’s chest makes her large breasts look anthropomorphically like testicles, this bizarre vision I feel is meant to be very symbolic I feel. Suddenly I see a white Afrikaans man who looks very rough, dishevelled and drunk, the inebriated and dirty looking man makes a lunge for the woman’s huge breasts in order to fondle and grope them but is intercepted and dragged away by some massive bulky, stocky security type natives who are guarding the tropical bar areas. As I watch the scene with some surprise and distaste I notice that I’m wearing a pair of extremely tight boots with a Cuban heel which are very painful and uncomfortable to walk in, the boots are way, way too small for me and look like dolls shoes.

Daytime and I have been walking for what feels like eons through Africa and I have finally managed to reach a vast gorge beyond which is a coastline and my way out of Africa.

I want to leave now and carry on my way but a guiding voice that has been hovering and following me all this while tells me that I can’t continue any further without first taking a rest, the guide adds the temperature and the dry searing heat will kill me if I don’t stop to take some respite.

The guide indicates for me to go and sleep inside a lush green bush on top of the cliff overlooking the gorge so I get down on my hands and knees and go to crawl inside. But much to my shock I’m immediately confronted by a large snake, surprisingly I take the initiative and grab the snake by the tail and pull it out. The snake wriggles and whips around trying to bit me but I manage to throw it over the side of the gorge.

I go back to my bush and try to climb inside once again but this time I am confronted by a huge ferocious tiger, we both wrestle with one another in a savage embrace, amazingly once again I have the upper hand and manage to wrestle the huge cat into submission.

The tiger melts into my body as I embrace it and before I fall asleep inside the bushy plant.

    Additional Comments:

Thoughts: This dream seems to follow on from my Kenya dream of yesterday and is also probably about my life path I guess, the dream’s symbolism may also be linked to my primitive and instinctual feelings and how I am working with such feelings.

Dream 1: The giant and the fairy – Daytime and I find myself in the house of a giant rugby player, I watch him as awakens from his sleep in his bed. The giant takes me to his sitting room and he asks me about some childhood friends I once had, I tell him that they weren’t really friends and that they were very cliquey towards me. Just as he says this I see one of the childhood friends sat in an armchair in front of me, I hadn’t noticed him at all and now I feel very conscious and awkward of the response I gave to the giant. I feel very embarrassed and as if I have been tricked somehow so I quickly run out of the house and into the giants garden, I feel very anxious but suddenly out of the corner of my eye I think I see a tiny fairy hovering to my left just out of the corner of my eye I turn away and it disappears and I end up wondering if I really did see the fairy.

Dream 2: Older is wiser – At a football stadium I discuss with an unfamiliar dream person about who I would pick to be on my soccer team if I had the choice, the dream friend says that he would pick the youngest stars as they would be fit and quick. I disagree and tell him that I would pick all of my favourite stars from when I was little (its at this point I seem them sat about me waiting for the match to begin) I add that the now grey haired men will be wiser and know what to expect from their past experience and hence won’t need to expend so much energy as the younger men.

Dream 3: Stealing the blue hat – Night time in the city centre of Japan and a brother-in-law has taken me to an immense skyscraper, the building is quiet with only one or two security guards about, I sense that we have to be discreet when we enter if we are to go unnoticed. My brother-in-law indicates for us to get into a lift which we take up to the top floor of the skyscraper, at the zenith of the vast towering building and in a hallowed shrine like room my brother-in-law steals a hallowed relic from its display cabinet, the artefact is a holy looking lapis lazuli coloured skull cap made from some kind of velvety silk. As soon as the little head cap is removed from its display alarm bells start ringing and the skyscraper’s security guards all leap into life. The brother-in-law and I dive back into the elevator and make our way back down to the ground level, once at the bottom I take a brief moment to take out a long samurai style sword which I use to inscribe a strange vertical column of oriental style glyphs onto the marble floor. Once I have finished scratching the sigil into the floor we both dash out from the building with the precious blue hat. It feel as if we have perhaps taken something we shouldn’t have but I also feel a bit like Jack from the tale of the beanstalk having stolen the giants golden goose.

Dream 4: Paul McCartney’s guitarist – I find myself at a Paul McCartney concert back stage, I watch a scene as Paul tries to get his guitarist who looks like a kind of Elvis style rockabilly to come out on stage to play with him. The guitarist seems very sombre and full of the blues he prefers to play his guitar back stage down in a sloping subterranean car park because he feels the acoustics are conducive to his mood and the way he feels.

Dream 5: A daring caress – In an unfamiliar house I am sat down on a sofa with an unfamiliar dream woman, my wife sits across from us on an easy chair. My wife leaves the room momentarily to get some hot drinks, no sooner has my wife left the room than the woman unzips my trousers and takes my penis out and begins fondling me. I’m completely shocked and am all a turmoil full of mixed feelings of pleasure on the one hand but complete panic on the other as my wife is perhaps only 6 feet away and could return back at any moment.
