Daytime and I find myself in America I’ve been walking alone along a dusty road through what feels like the Wild West plains or a prairie, I can see that I am approaching the outskirts of a modern town or small city.

Just as I get to the threshold of the county line I see a tall sign similar to a circular traffic sign which has a symbolic black pinball machine icon displayed on it with a thick red line struck diagonally through it. Apparently the game of pinball is prohibited in this town and any thoughts of playing this game have to be relinquished and left behind before crossing the frontier.

Although I like the game of pinball having to give it up seems like a small sacrifice to make in order to be able to enter the town so I clear my mind of all thoughts to do with pinball and cross the city border and head on into the town feeling very positive.

Additional Comments:

Thoughts: Pinball tables are something of a recurring symbol for me from time to time, this little dream made me feel quite positive particularly the feeling of leaving something behind in order to make forward progress. Dream 1: Hot spiritual oil – I find myself in an unfamiliar bathroom where my little sister has filled the sink with a mysterious looking golden coloured oil, the liquid has a very mystical spiritual aura and is infused with herbs and other exotic ingredients, the potion looks like the kind of hot oil that a lady might use as a special treatment on her hair. My sister explains to me that this is a special all over body oil that she is going to use to anoint our Mum, she goes on to say that once the oil has been massaged in it is set alight to complete the ceremony, it would appear that my Mum has been prepared as if she were a giant incense cone. I panic and feel terrified at this thought as it sounds very dangerous and injurious but my sister just smiles and tells me not to worry as no harm will come to Mum. I gaze back over to the bathroom washbasin and see that it is literally full to overflowing with the magical glistening glittery gold oil, the droplets that run over the side and underneath the basin start to drip to the floor, seeing the droplets about to drip to the floor strikes me as profoundly symbolic and important I stand there gazing at the basin for some dream moments.

It is very late at night and I find myself driving alone along an unlit country road up on top of a wooded hill. As I pass the crest of the hill and start to descend the motor suddenly cuts out and so does the battery, I’m plunged into darkness with no headlights, no brakes and only very loose steering.

I frantically grab for the ignition key and start to fumble with it trying to turn it to get the engine started again. I begin to accumulate speed rapidly as I coast down the hill but I do eventually manage to get the engine running again after much frantic trying.

Morning seems to be breaking and the countryside landscape become more visible as twilight approaches. I turn a corner and pass another crest on a hill and see a sudden flash behind me, I turn over my shoulder and see a group of policemen dressed in black clothing they are knelt down with a speed camera and other similar equipment.

I slow down but it’s too late I realised I passed a sign which showed that the speed limit in this area was “30” and I’m fully aware that I passed the speed trap at “36”.

    Additional Comments:

Thoughts: I think I know what this dream is alluding to but I don’t know why, later this year I will be 36 years old so that seemed to certainly tie in with speed I was doing and cars often represent the travelling ones life path so maybe this dream is about my age although the speed limit set at 30 suggests something which I can’t quite get my head around at the moment. It’s a curious dream though as this is not a topic I have been thinking about at all and age is something I never dwell on either. Dream 1: The secret in the laundry chute – I find myself inside an unfamiliar sprawling house of many rooms the property has been undergoing a huge renovation and is close to the stage where decorating can begin. My wife comes into the room where I am working with an unfamiliar electrician and plumber and informs all three of us that she wants to completely change the entire layout of the house and the way things are arranged. The plumber, electrician and myself each look at one another with a quick glance of the eyes and very telling expressions as if to say this is really bad news and will mean we will have to strip down all of the work we have done up to this point and start all over again. As my wife has been explaining her new plans she has been leaning against a waist high partition wall, the plaster that was used to fix the plaster bricks in place hasn’t set so the wall has ended up leaning right over. My wife adds that she also wants some kind of special laundry chute put in place that will allow dirty clothes from upstairs to be sent to a laundry room in the basement without having to carry them downstairs a bit like one might see in a hotel I can imagine. Apparently I’m made aware that the previous owners of the house already had such a laundry chute and I might be able to renovate it somehow or make use of it. I head off to look for the elusive chute and I come to an area which looks a little like a large garage where I find a door that I’d never noticed before, I open it and find a small storage cupboard something like a gentleman’s dresser where I see lots of old suits, shoes and brick-a- brack I realise that these items belong to the previous owner and have never been removed when they moved out. I find the room very curious and would like to stay and rummage but I know that I have to find the laundry chute. I do eventually find the exit door of the chute in the concrete ceiling of the garage, the door that covers the hatch is extremely stiff I tug and tug on it but it doesn’t seem to budge. With one big effort I eventually manage to tug the trap door open and am immediately showered in a deluge of tiny worn out blown light bulbs, they are the type one might find in a torch or in a cars lights. As I stand literally buried up to the neck in fused mini-light bulbs and as the last of the bulbs tumbles out onto me a VHS video cassette slides out of the hatch into my hands. As soon as I take a hold of the cassette in both hands its contents are played out in my minds eye. I see that it is the (very unorthodox) wedding video of the couple who used to own the house previously, the video is very upsetting to watch though as the previous owners appear to have been transformed into male and female goats but who have still retained their humanness (this was a most upsetting and disturbing scene). The male goat comes right up to the camera or my minds eye screen and starts bleating at me in a very distressed and haunting hysterical sort of way that really frightens me, I can somehow vaguely understand what he is trying to say to me, he wants me to relay some kind of extremely important message to a very close friend of his, it seems absolutely critical almost as if his life depended upon it that I get this message passed on. My problem is that the goat man’s frantic bleating was very incomprehensible I had a feeling of what he wanted me to do but no real details of who and where to deliver his message, or indeed of what that message was only that it was a warning of some kind. Secondly it strikes me that this video has probably been stuck in the laundry chute for years and years and the previous owners who I imagine were very elderly even back then have probably long since passed away, a thought which leaves me with a very peculiar helpless sort of feeling. Dream 2: Vicious spider Vs. Rainbow bug – I find myself in a dim unfamiliar room late in the evening, all of my attention is drawn to a very strange scene where I see a peculiar large docile looking bug which has a large soft body covered in a downy coating of delicate multicoloured fur. I watch as the docile creature make sits way slowly across the room in a very methodical slow plod. Suddenly from out of the shadows I see a large black widow spider pounce out onto the colourful bug and start attacking the defenceless creature. The attack is extremely spiteful and seems to be pure malice, the spider sticks its two front legs into the bug’s body trying to pierce it and it also tries to bite the bugs soft rainbow coloured body too. I find the scene very upsetting and only get some respite when I see that the multicoloured bug has managed to make something of a getaway, it doesn’t last for long though as the spider just seemed to be toying with the bug and its only a matter of time before the spider pounces back onto the bug and starts biting and stabbing it again.

    Shiny washers for rusty bolts.

This dream has been viewed 3270 times.

It is daytime and I have gone to a very large supermarket to buy something (I feel I might possibly be in a dream version of America), the atmosphere both outdoors and indoors is extremely familiar as if I had been here on a few occasions in past dreams (in fact bizarrely enough I came back to this supermarket again in a different dream this night).

I go straight to the aisle I need knowing what I want and pick up a large clear bag full of various sized shiny metal washers. I feel that I need these metallic “O” shaped items for a specific purpose. I head over to the checkout and pay for the bag and make my way back outside.

Outdoors and not far from the entrance I walk over to what looks like a rusty metal pole resting inserted into a weighted supporting block on the ground, affixed to the top of the pole is a thick vertical oblong sheet of iron plate which is also extremely rusty. I don’t really know what the object is but I would hazard a guess that it is some kind of traffic sign or car park panel (I am stood right next to the supermarkets car park)..

There is no writing on the object so it is actually difficult to tell what it really is, I only make my assumptions based on its shape.

I realize that I have bought the metal washers in order to improve, modify or update the rusty metal object. The iron is covered in a thick dusty layer of brown and orange metal flakes which fall away as I touch it.

I take out a spanner and begin to try and loosen a series of large bolts which pass through the metal plate (it may have actually been two plates fixed together with the nuts and bolts). The bolts are almost impossible to turn and are very stubborn they have virtually rusted into place, things get easier though and soon I have loosened off all of the nuts (roughly 6 in total).

As I fit the shiny silver washers behind the bolts and proceed to tighten them back up again I ponder and wonder that if I had bought a special spray (something like WD40) it might have made the task of undoing the bolts easier and it may have even managed to treat the old metal removing the rust entirely and giving it a protective coat.

    Additional Comments:

This dream has got me puzzled a bit as for one the rusty object was odd although it did appear to be a sign of some sort and secondly why would I bother to put shiny new washers onto an already decayed and rusty object, it seems like a very odd thing to do to me?
