Lucid Intent? No

Daytime and I find myself travelling along a vaguely familiar motorway, rather than use a car I am lying face down and hovering just an inch or two above the road and am being pulled along by a magical motorised football sized metallic sphere. The feeling of being pulled along by the ball is very pleasant and makes me feel semi lucid (vaguely similar kinds of gravity sensations were felt as in a falling dream). The sphere is very responsive to my thoughts and when I want to go quicker it immediately complies with my wish, it would seem to be a living thing and very receptive to my impulses.
I am suddenly made aware of a change in the law regarding the speed limit whilst driving in the wet on a motorway, the speed limit has been abolished and now one can drive as fast as one wishes, it seems like a positive thing (in the dream).
I zip in and out of the traffic with great ease when I suddenly get the urge to look in my rear view mirror (although I was not inside a vehicle as such the mirror still existed). Looking in the mirror I’m shocked to see one or two men who look vaguely like me wandering aimlessly behind me across the motorway, it immediately becomes apparent that these are the ghosts of people who have been killed in motorway accidents in the past.
It’s at this point the vividness of the dream steps up a level and I begin to have something of a lucid nightmare.
The ghosts (which look solid, real and very life like and not all like a traditional ghost like a white sheet or blanket) start to grab onto my legs as if to hang onto me and hitch a ride, I manage to shake the grasping ghosts free and will my magic sphere vehicle to pull me forwards and away from the frightening ghosts.
As I head uphill towards a tunnel I hear the chilling wails and cries of the ghosts I managed to shake free tapering off behind me “Help me” they cry hauntingly “Help me”.

Thoughts: Last night I had the strong intention and made big efforts to have a lucid dream and it did seem to work even if the drama was a bit unnerving, the sensation of moving or of gravity or of falling was very familiar to those special sort of lucid dreams although this was quite fun compared to those falling dreams. Three areas I’m trying to focus on with the intention of trying to improve my lucid dreams and hopefully even out of body experiences are to get more quality sleep, improve my diet and take regular light exercise. The above dream was actually very positive regardless of the ghosts. The magic sphere may represent wholeness, the motorway a quick and dynamic route to where I want to be heading in life which is perhaps away from the past as represented by the clinging ghosts.Dream 1: The female football deity – Daytime and I find myself outdoors on a soccer pitch playing in a football match. My team is made up of the usual compliment of male players many of whom are favourite footballers from when I was little. The opposition team consists of one giant woman. The beautiful colossus is something like a statuesque Greek goddess in short robes which show off her shapely legs and her long Roman sandals. My team does everything possible to try and score a goal past the giant lady but to no avail, the ball simply ricochets off her towering shins like a miniscule ping pong ball.
Dream 3: The wedding anniversary – (A very lengthy dream which I’ve decided to record in full as certain areas seemed very important and significant). Daytime and I find myself inside a specific oriental take away shop in my childhood hometown the little take away is called ‘The Golden Horse’ in waking life which may be symbolically significant (I still need to check up on this symbolism). My wife is at the counter ordering some food for us both, my wife seems very motherly and more mature than I am but it’s not so much that I feel like a child it’s just that I don’t feel very grounded or with it. Whilst my wife makes the order I play a slot machine the kind with spinning reels with pictures on them which need to be aligned and matched in order to win a money prize (this is often a recurring dream symbol for me). On the first spin of the reels (there are five reels) I manage to match 4 lemon symbols out of the 5 reels and win a cash prize of £3. Our food order is prepared and my wife beckons me to leave but before going I quickly have one more go on the slot machine and manage to win the jackpot of £22 by matching all 5 reels with the (apparent) best symbol of a lemon tree branch full of blossom. My money prize is delivered into the collection trough in the form of a shower of shiny golden coins each denominated in the number 20. Some suspicious characters watch over me as I scoop up the coins and fill my pockets I sense that they are covetous and jealous of my good fortune. My wife and I then go out into the street where we see a scene of terrible agitation and commotion, some young ruffian children are spitefully teasing and being hostile towards some vagrants, the tramps in turn become quite hostile too at being provoked and start screeching and screaming back at the little thugs to be left alone. We carry on walking and I suddenly notice that I am accompanied by a vaguely familiar child who looks like a boy I went to primary school with (this boy’s surname may vaguely be symbolic, he has appeared in a few of my past dreams). On the surface the boy seems mentally retarded or perhaps deeply introverted, I decide to help the boy as we walk by talking to him about his problems, I want to somehow cure the boy. As we walk I realise that we have strayed into a beautiful park and my wife has walked on ahead of us up the hill towards my Nan’s house where we planned to eat our fish and chips. I feel a bit panicky and want to catch up with her because I feel helpless without her and that I have been neglecting her. At my Nan’s house we all sit down in the kitchen with some unfamiliar yet familiar dream acquaintances to eat the take away meal, the special food is to celebrate the wedding anniversary of my wife and I. Before joining everyone at the table I become distracted by a documentary or some news footage showing on the television, I’m completely captivated by the story and can’t take my eyes away from the TV. The news story concerns the real life story (real within the dream) with live footage as it happens of a solitary male hostage being held in a far off country. As I watch the television I’m aware of two factions parked in large armoured off-road vehicles on my Nan’s driveway outside. One group represents the captors and the other a kind of FBI negotiations team. I sense that the situation or stand-off is extremely tense and very real. Back in doors and I continue to gaze at the television, I watch as the hostage lets out an anguished cry for freedom from his restraints to which his captors come and brutally beat him. In fact the captors decide to kill the man by beating him with bamboo rods and hacking at him with machetes, the man falls to the jungle floor and is trampled and stamped upon by his tormentors before finally (and bizarrely) one of the captors rides a camel on top of the man and completely crushes him into the earth (a terribly shocking and horrifying scene). Afterwards an African wooden ritual or tribal like mask is nailed to the dead man’s face in some kind of superstitious attempt to stop his spirit escaping. (Just as a note I can’t think where such a terrible scene came from, only to add that the camel is something of a recurring symbol at the moment). After watching the documentary my wife and her sister announce that they are taking me out for an anniversary surprise. They take me to a large part out door part indoor market with many stalls all selling second hand antiques and brick-a-brack. My wife parks the car we came in right next to a stall which is selling old perambulators, once out of the car I immediately note that our own car looks just like a perambulator too only larger, I warn my wife that by parking the car so close to the other prams it might get sold by mistake by somebody thinking that it was for sale. We each wander off by ourselves about the stalls where I decide to try and look for a present for a close friend, whilst browsing the stalls I see some ornaments shaped like Kermit the frog from The Muppet Show. One of the ornamental Kermit’s is stood upright and is a bedside lamp with a small bulb inside his green opaque alabaster head which creates a soft pleasant glow. The other Kermit also standing upright appears to be an air freshener filled with potpourri, incense or talcum powder. I have the dream memory that I owned these Kermit items when I was younger or that they were ornaments in my childhood home (but this is just a dream memory though). Later on I find myself inside a small bar which is situated on a pier I am accompanied by the English actor Nigel Havers who is in turn accompanied by a lady friend. I’m involved in a strange scene with Nigel whereby we are trying to winch up a garbage truck off the shoreline of the beach onto the top of a barge or dredger, it is a difficult task as the winch cable keeps twisting but we eventually manage to do it. Meanwhile my wife is sat at a party table in one of the bars cosy booth areas with friends most of whom are unfamiliar to me, a little bottle of champagne is opened and a glass is offered to me. I want to join her and I feel that she wants me to join her at the table but I’m very distracted and confused with all of the goings on. Two novelty anniversary presents of t-shirts with a visual gag on the front are brought out for me and the husband of one of my wife’s friends. One of the cartoons or gags on the t-shirts is an amusing allegory about virility whilst the other t-shirt has a similarly humorous fable about fidelity. After the party at the bar I return back to the Oriental take away shop from right at the beginning of the dream where I help the chef in the rear kitchen to make some home made choc ices, I watch as the chef cleaves slices of water ice looking ice-cream from a great slab with a curved cheese cutting blade. I roll my small blocks of ice in the chocolate sauce and then coat them in peanuts. A female work colleague is sat at a bar stool and small table in the shop and asks me in a round about sort of way if I’m available, I feel very confused by the proposition and puzzle over her question before finally say no awkwardly as I remember that I am married. The work colleague aggresses her current partner who is also sat silently at the other side of the table from her as if to let out her anger and frustrations at my rejection. She aggresses me too because of my negative reply and stares at me with piercing blue eyes just like her boyfriend has and who also stares at me too. It’s at this point the proceedings are interrupted and some gruesome severed overly large animal heads are brought into the shop and paraded about the room on large platters by royal looking servants or knaves.
