I find myself inside a deep beautiful crystal cavern that is the home of the wise old magician Merlin.

I am nearing the end of a very lengthy quest which has had me searching far and wide for the five Platonic solids in crystal form. I have located four of them but have been unable to find the last one to complete the set which happens to be the tetrahedron.

Merlin’s cave is beautifully lit with stalagmites and stalactites glowing radiantly and with many of his own beautiful crystals placed thoughtfully on the stony ledges.

Merlin suddenly appears as if out of nowhere dressed in a long robe and skullcap, he is extremely friendly and amiable and looks at me with a loving wise face.

I explain to Merlin my quest and I ask him where I can find the missing crystal to complete my collection and set, he explains in a knowing and sage kind of way that the last polyhedron cannot be found like a mere physical treasure like the other gems were but has to be summoned and manifested by the seeker.

Merlin as if reading my thoughts explains to me that the tetrahedron is brought into existence by ‘applying pressure’.

I’m puzzled by this vague explanation so the magician demonstrates to me by hovering his thumb just above one of the rocky work top like ledges of his cave, Merlin then pushes down or ‘applies pressure’ in mid-air just above the rocky ledge.

I see that he seems to meet some resistance just as if he were pushing against a firm cushion of air, the harder he pushes the more the resistance builds until something magical happens.

I notice that there is something mental going on here to do with the power of the mind, and after a while of concentrating very hard with a focused, closed eyed frown I see a beautiful naturally formed tetrahedron of amber or topaz slowly appear as if out of thin air in the high pressure space in-between Merlin’s thumb and stony workspace.

Merlin quickly snaps out of his trance and lifts his thumb away and the tetrahedron disappears in an instant, I get the impression that if he had continued then the precious pyramidal gem would have fully manifested and remained in the physical realm perpetually like any other physical object.

After finishing his demonstration Merlin says “You see?”, as if to reveal how simple the technique is and yet also illustrating the effort required in order to manifest what one wants.

Additional Comments:

Thoughts: This dream really was magical and lots of fun and also made me feel good too, its not the first time I’ve dreamt of the Platonic solids but its also not a dream theme that recurs all that regularly either (I should go back and try and find these dreams if I can to see if they bear any relation to this one). Each of the Platonic solids I have read are meant to symbolically represent one of the elements, the tetrahedron is meant to represent fire and the pyramidal shape indicative of the hearth (or even an abstract flame I personally thought). As this was a positive dream I would hazard a guess that the flame symbolism in conjunction with the ‘applying pressure’ technique represents a way of manifesting one of the following somehow perhaps: passion, purification, life-giving qualities, desire, energy (particularly instinctual ones like sex, anger, ambition, fear), illumination, transformation, drive, motivation, enlightenment and also the passing of something old and the entering of something new also with the possibility of changing and transforming ones thoughts which is something I am trying to work with at the moment. I’ve also read that to bring fire under control (if that is what this dream represents) or contained in one area or someway (like within the tetrahedron), can be a metaphor for ones own internal fire and inner transformation, fire can represent the process of life and just as with all living things it needs to be fed to remain alive I have read which may have been alluded to in a round about sort of way with Merlin’s ‘applying pressure’ technique, pressure or maybe perhaps friction being one way of igniting a spark, creating an ember or producing a flame.

Dream 1: The flexible floor tile factory – Daytime and I find myself in the upper floor of the clerical section of a factory which makes flexible floor tiles. I would appear to be playing the role of a rather flustered executive type. It feels like it may be lunchtime or perhaps leaving time in the evening either way I feel a bit dishevelled, tired and in a hurry to leave. I leave my office with briefcase in hand in something of a rush and just for a moment I gaze down at the tiled floor, it is mostly made up of flexible white tiles with one or two irregularly placed pastel coloured ones, such as a yellow one that catches my eye. The floor tiles are a product of the factory and look slightly 1960’s in style and quite pleasant and reassuring somehow, I suddenly feel a fleeting sense of satisfaction with my job and realise that I have quite a privileged position now that I work upstairs in the clerical department rather on the more laborious shop floor of the factory. As I take the steps down to the next landing on the first floor I see a group of infants all dressed up with party hats on carry party bags, tooters etc they are with some older ladies who are getting the children all prepared for something of a company or works party, I think the kids look sweet as I hurry down the steps outside and at some level I realise that their celebrations are somehow interconnected with my new and improved position in the clerical office. Outdoors I find myself in an area which looks a little like my place of work, I walk through a maze like car park with paths and high chain link fences. There are also huge big notice boards with maps and directions of how to get to all of the major business centres and enterprises that are located nearby in the surrounding area and industrial estate. I bump into an older man than me with grey hair and a beard who looks a little lost, he walks one way but then returns the same way he came as if retracing his steps. I bump into the man again and accompany him over to one of the big information boards and explain that he will be able to find his way if he looks at the map.

Dream 3: A bad hair day at the disco – As if following on from one of my dreams of yesterday (the one I called ‘My Achilles heel.’) I actually find myself inside a dim disco hall with pumping music and a typical nightclub sort of atmosphere. Bizarrely I am putting on a cheap straggly ladies wig which consists of rather long light brown highlighted lank hair, either the wig is to small for me or there isn’t much hair on the wig, its also possible that I am dressed in drag too. But rather than being feminine I actually look like a huge butch rugby player who has put on drag for something of a laugh although in part I do seem to be taking myself seriously too. Regardless of my absolutely ridiculous appearance there are actually men in the disco hall who somehow find me attractive (!!!) and want to dance with me (???). (In waking life I don’t have any pastimes like this, I’m pretty sure this is symbolic and simply represents a continuation and yet more of my masculine/feminine harmonising sort of dream dramas. The closeness and continuity with yesterdays dream really surprised me lots and lots).

I find myself entering inside a large pyramid very similar to the Great Pyramid of Giza, I note that I am barefoot which seems like a significant detail. The interior of the pyramid is like a modern place of work a bit like an office.

I see a work colleague who is washing himself and using aftershaves or perfumes in what looks to me like a ritual cleansing. It is at this point that I recover my shoes, I polish them and then put them on my feet.

As I carry on walking through pyramid I notice that it becomes more factory like with huge machines and long production lines.

A shift takes place and I find myself outside the pyramid in a vaguely familiar location, I find myself at the end of a countryside garden. I’m walking along a garden wall balancing myself with my arms, an old friend from art college is watching and asks why I’m doing this, I tell him that the garden path is too narrow and full of tall spindly stones.

I leap down from the wall and turn a corner onto a street where I enter back in through some large factory doors which lead back inside the pyramid. As I continue my journey through the pyramid I see many huge tools, die stamps and presses being moved around and assembled it appears that that the factory workers are preparing to set up for a new production run.

I try to help a little by moving some of the tooling but I end up getting some orange machine grease on a tool bed, I try to clean it off but an old art college friend says not to worry as he’ll take care of it, he doesn’t seem annoyed by the mess but he is busy and very concentrated.

I reach a point in the corridor where there is a huge mechanical door very much like a light guard which descends from above when closing and rises upward when opening into a cavity in the ceiling. I push a green button and to open and then pass on through to the other side. I don’t want to be responsible for re-closing the door as it might crush some unusually feline robotic machinery that has slid beneath it so I leave it to somebody else to do, I watch as an older factory worker closes the door without any problems.

As I walk the last corridor towards the other side of the pyramid a godly disembodied voice explains to me how the pyramid is a symbol of progress, development, improvement and growth that was meant to be experienced practically and physically first hand by journeying through its interior by all people and not just the Pharos and high priests.

I carry on through to the others side and exit the pyramid through a small opening, outside is a steep polished slope of brown marble or granite that I need to climb to be finally free of the pyramid. This final slippery obstacle seems too much to overcome after such a long journey and I feel like giving up.

But with one last effort I scrabble my way up to the top of the slope hauling myself up with my bare hands, I really feel as if I’m making my hands work hard even breaking finger nails. The effort is all worth it as I see the sun rising on the horizon of a beautiful flat infinite desert landscape.

    Additional Comments:

Interpretation: I wish I could write down the exact words that the voice spoke about concerning the pyramids as it was so meaningful, I tried my best to put it into writing but my explanation seems very simple compared to the profound and multifaceted depth of the pyramids meaning from within the dream. The dream in itself seems to represent the journey and events one undertakes when seeking growth and progress. Starting off barefoot might imply a carefree nature but also a lack of mobility or preparation. The cleansing ritual and anointing with perfumes seemed to an awakening and was followed by the rediscovery of the shoes. The brief excursion outside where I was walking along the wall perhaps represented the importance of a balanced and impartial approach. My interference when trying to help set-up the factor machinery might imply that there is no need for me to interfere with subconscious processes and that they should be left to organize themselves, this might relate to me trying to influence control over the wild dream animals in the past few dreams I’ve had. This led onto the scene where I couldn’t close the door on the robotic feline this machine like jaguar was perhaps a further representation of the wild animal theme perhaps representing the more negative side of autonomous or repetitive primal instincts. The way I used my hands to scrabble up the slope was painful but satisfying which could imply that I need to be more involved and active if I want to achieve my goals. The sun rising on the vast infinite plain made me think of fresh starts and new beginnings.

Dream 1: Vault codes – I find myself underground in a maze of office like rooms the environment feels like a place of work, I feel that it has taken me a great deal of time to arrive at this location and point of progression. There is a lot of hustle and bustle down here with many smart women all walking around performing their business tasks, some I recognize and others I don’t I also note that there are no men down here except for myself. I realize that in my long journey to get to this place I have had to memorize huge long strings of numbers all of which have become progressively smaller with each new code discovered. I have now reached the end of the journey and have arrived at my final destination which is represented by a large secure underground vault, to gain access to the vault I need to use a four digit code. Unfortunately I’ve had to memorize so many codes and numbers that I can’t recall the final code to open the vault, it’s as if I have a complete mental block. I hurry around the corridors of the warren like labyrinth in a real fluster asking all of the women if they can help me by telling me the code to gain access to the vault.

I find myself in an exotic tropical forest clambering up a very large Mesoamerican stepped pyramid the incredible structure is painted in extremely vibrant matt colours. It has an air of a Rubik’s cube about it both in appearance and in a puzzle kind of way of too, I sense that it is used in some kind of sacrificial ceremony not necessarily human.

As I make my way to the top of the pyramid I note some simple symbols painted onto the steps, one that catches my eye is of a sheaf of wheat. There is a temple atop the pyramid with a deep square well which drops down through the centre of the grand structure. Floating within this chamber are numbers and mathematics, mental constructs manifested in a physical kind of way.

    Additional Comments:

In another dream I am at some kind of design house where the owners are helping me to create a portfolio of work, part of this tasks involves dressing a tailors dummy or creating a mannequin.

Another dream had me back at my aunts old house she seems to have been doing some decorating and an unusual atmosphere pervades the property. I go to head up some stairs when I see a large bulge in the ceiling this area hasn't been painted so well and I can see the previous lapis lazuli paint showing through the pastel yellow paint on top. I start to tear the ceiling paper away from the bulge to see what is beneath and am surprised to find an old cello, I gather that this musical instrument is stolen property that a gangster hid here.

A further dream had me preparing a Christmas cracker especially for my Mum I tailor make the cracker so that it will give her the present she has always wanted. I’m given a pair of white feminine jeans as a Christmas present which I end up giving to my little sister.
