Daytime and a short dream where I find myself out at sea watching an Aesop’s like tale about a sea salmon and a crab. The lowly crab helps the noble salmon by picking small parasites from its body, the drama seems metaphorical somehow like a fable.

Thoughts: I can’t really say what this dream means perhaps something to do with the unconscious although I was left with the impression that it definitely carries a meaning of some sort a bit like a parable. All of last night’s dreams were quite vivid and I was surprised by my recall as I haven’t been feeling very well the past day or two, the final dream I had last night also contained animals too. Dream 1: Raising the roof – It is late evening time and I find myself inside an old stone barn that was a part of my childhood home, this barn appears to be a new home for my wife and I. The barn needs a great deal of work doing to it as it currently just a large littered open space, the walls look quite good and are a rustic white with medieval style wrought iron lit candelabras. My wife asks me if we will be able to have a second floor created upstairs, it doesn’t look possible to me though but I still take out a tape measure to check the height from the floor up to the current ceiling. After checking the measurements I explain it won’t be possible as both floors would end up having impractically low ceilings so it will be better to keep just one large room with a high ceiling. I also add as if to back up my story that the task involved in fitting new joists for an upstairs floor would entail a huge amount of work and would necessitate taking the barn to pieces stone by stone which seems pointless to me. I continue to go about my work and with a broom I sweep out a lot of organic matter such as leaves and dump it on the other side of the road near the hedge, after I’ve done this I wonder if somebody will come and complain to me for leaving the old vegetation lying there. Dream 2: Covering a cupboard door – Daytime and I find myself at an unfamiliar version of the place where I work in waking life I’m walking around looking for a small piece of particle board in order to cover a cupboard door with. I note that I’m dressed quite casually in an indigo coloured t-shirt it would appear that I’m too casually dressed as a top manager walks past me and gives me a very sharp and mean glare as if he disapproves immensely of my clothing. The casual clothing seemed okay at first but now arrangements at work appear to have been made much stricter in all regards. I wander out into a corridor where I see some men in white overalls renovating the hallway, I watch as one man puts together a scaffolding framework I watch lucidly as he uses a gravely cement to put the frame together which strikes me as most unusual. Amongst their many sheets of particle board I find a small trapezoid shaped scrap which seems perfect for the cupboard door I want to cover. I go back into the office area and crouch down and somehow manage to glue it onto the cupboard door (the task in itself seems pointless to me in waking but that’s what I was doing in the dream so I guess it has some sort of a meaning). When I get up from the work I look out of the windows and see that it is raining, in fact it is really hammering down creating a watery blur of the scenery outdoors. Dream 3: Mario the bear – Evening time and I find myself find myself in the slightly creepy house of an unfamiliar kooky family of a mother, father, daughter and son. I’m made aware that the daughter and son are involved in some kind of strange incestuous relationship I watch as they perform oral sex on one another the purpose of which seems to be to do with cleansing, in fact I watch as they take a bath together and continue their ritual. Much later I’m taken to the swimming pool in my childhood hometown by the eerie family, we all enter the pool and go under the water, we stand at the bottom of the pool watching the bathers above us through an unpleasant cloudy yellow water which can only be described as looking like urine. I drift away from the strange family when I notice that there are animals floating in the pool up above, I float up to the surface where I see two lifeless camels floating on their sides in the pool. I then paddle down to the shallows where I’m met by the startling sight of a huge bear walking upright back and forth in the shallow end, a swimming pool attendant explains that these creatures represent some kind of cruel entertainment for the people who come to swim at the pool (some sort of vague parallel between the animals and inflatable amusements). I see that the bear has been dressed in human clothing something like a lumberjack might wear and I also notice that all of the huge beasts fur has been removed leaving it with an uncanny human appearance. It is also impressed upon me that the bear’s claws have been pulled out so as to prevent it from harming anybody swimming at the pool, something which must have caused the bear extreme pain I imagine. Suddenly the bear speaks to me which causes me a great deal of shock and surprise, the bear introduces himself as Mario and asks me in a deep despondent melancholy voice if I could wipe the steam and condensation from the swimming pool windows as that is the only little pleasure he has now to watch the world pass by outside the window. I want to help this sad creature so I go over to the window and wipe the condensation away. I look outside and see that it is night time and snowing. (The last part of this dream affected me a lot emotionally for some reason and as it was the last dream I had before waking up I really felt very emotional almost tearful for some strange reason at the bears plight).

    Some strange demonstrations regarding parasites.

(Just as a warning to any squeamish readers this dream is pretty gross and weird....read at your own peril).

An unidentifiable but friendly dream male hands me a large white dinner plate loaded with a spaghetti of parasitic worms, he does this as if giving me a lesson. The sight is absolutely revolting but thankfully the redeeming aspect of this demonstration is that the spindly thread worms and grotesquely bloated tape worms are all dead, in fact this seems to be the whole positive point of the male’s demonstration.

A subtle shift takes place and another demonstration takes place for my benefit I feel (....and this is going to sound pretty darn weird for sure). I watch as a dog drags himself sat upright past me, he does this in such a way as if dragging his bum along a carpeted floor by his front paws. (I’ve seen some dogs do this when they are being irritated by parasites).

The scene with the dog looked kind of funny and unusual and I feel is done in a light hearted humorous way in order to make the lesson not so heavy and disturbing what with the subject matter.

After the dog’s demonstration has ended and he has moved out of view to my right a large rabbit or hare comes into view from my left and does exactly what the dog was just doing, dragging his bum along the floor with his front paws as if to provide some relief from the parasites.

Seeing the dog do this was pretty weird but seeing a rabbit do it really is quite bizarre, I think to myself that this is definitely something you don’t see everyday. Both the first scene with the plate of white worms and then the one with the dog and rabbit seemed more like demonstrations to me and I played no part other than being an observer of what was being presented before me.

    Additional Comments:

Interpretation: Before anyone panics I don’t have a problem in this regard!!! The dream is definitely symbolic I feel and although it was extremely disgusting I found a lot of solace in the fact the worms on the plate were all dead. The scene with the two animals is probably linked to various emotions or instincts associated with the dog and rabbit, perhaps the drama represents how I had problems in this regard that were leaching me of vitality, but now they are dead because I have managed to overcome them. Just as a note this dream and all of the others I had this night had a positive feeling about them. Dream 1: Dad’s perfect wheelie – I find myself in an opening or clearing in a large forest some kind of festival is taking place here it is vaguely concerning some kind of amateur off-road motor sports. My father is here and so are most of the rest of his side of the family too, the atmosphere is one of expectation and excitement. My Dad is riding a strange off-road chopper style motorcycle on the muddy ground, he pulls a slow triumphant perfect vertical wheelie. His mastery, balance and control over the vehicle under such conditions is quite remarkable and I feel so proud of him as he wheelies around the track entertaining the spectators. When my Dad finishes putting on his show I run over to him to congratulate him and just be with him, he seems surprisingly confident and not at all what he is like in waking life. He indicates and suggests that I go over to an outdoor exhibit of some large sepia tone photographs of him pulling similar wheelies to the amazing one he just pulled, I gather that there is something I could learn from looking at these photographs. Dream 2: Reconciling with my stepfather – A very vague dream where I am over at my Mum’s house, I have a very emotionally charged meeting with my stepfather. Both he and I come to a very deep understanding, the ambiance of profound reconciliation and mutual love seems the most important aspect of the dream (this dream wasn’t really visual as such). Dream 3: Still no more need to shower – I am at my Mum’s house once again and this time I am trying to take a shower but just like in one of yesterdays dreams the plumbing seems to work fine but I am denied a shower, its almost as if the shower and plumbing has a mind of its own and is basically telling me that its not going to give me a shower because I don’t need one. I note that a bathroom cabinet has come away from the wall, I try to push it back onto its brackets but it seems loose and won’t fit back on properly any more. Dream 5: That’s simply not cricket – Daytime and I find myself in an old style wooden courtroom which also happens to be a church, two teams of cricketers are here playing a cramped indoor game of cricket against one another in-between the pews. One of the teams is made up of white men and the other black, I watch as one of the white men bowls a blistering fast ball at the stumps of the opposition blasting them to smithereens and sending dangerous shards and splinters of wood flying all about the large open space. One of the black men who was nearly hit in the head by the hard cricket ball objects heatedly to what the white man did, he goes on to explain that the white man before the match explained that fast bowling in this game is not permitted but here he seems to have broken his own rules. There is a definite feeling of prejudice here, a kind of one rule for one and another rule for the other. Dream 6: The relaxed swimming pool date – My mother-in-law is helping me to get ready to meet a woman for a date at a swimming pool (I’ve never dreamt of this female person before and only knew her very briefly at art college and not to speak to, she came from a well to do kind of background and family I seem to remember). As I get dressed I notice that I have too many layers on, I don’t feel particularly uncomfortable but it does seem strange, I even try to put on two pairs of jeans but I soon realize it’s not possible. When we arrive at the swimming pool I go to a counter where there is a kind of cloakroom where you can leave your belongings whilst you go to the pool either as a spectator or as a swimmer. Surprisingly I seem to be right at the front of the queue and the rest of the people waiting are all ever so polite and helpful urging me to take my turn first this makes me feel very comfortable, happy and as if things are going my way for once. The fee for leaving my jacket here is only fifty cents so I take out a handful of change and find the right coin easily which again makes me feel very happy and fortunate. The man serving behind the counter is an English comedian he takes my coat but not before I remove my wallet, I feel I’d like to keep this with me so I can keep a close eye on it. After I leave this area I walk over to a kids recreation area where I see a climbing area full of these colored plastic balls, I see two men down below playing in the spheres they beckon me down so I jump down into the sea of balls which is quite fun. I find a baton made of foam down in the balls, as I wallow in the balls I also remember that I’m here to meet the lady for a date. I seem to know that the woman is already by the pool but a part of me also realizes that there is no real hurry to meet her and that I can relax and take my time leisurely.

It is daytime and I find myself out in some unfamiliar countryside not far from forest, I’m aware that quite a lot of the land here belongs to me and I have a number of very old and large stone barns situated here some are clustered together in one group with two or three more a short distance away closer to the forest.

My intention is to have all of these barns renovated and at first glance my plans seem feasible if challenging but the more I look at and study the barns I begin to feel that I have bitten of more than I can chew. I glance up at the roofs in particular and notice that they will need a lot of work doing on them if not replacing altogether. Interestingly the roofs are made from thick stone tiles that look incredibly strong and weather resistant but where the roof structure underneath has collapsed many have the roof tiles have caved in leaving some holes, this was possibly due to their weight.

Seeing all of the work that needs doing I start to feel despondent and like giving up on the huge undertaking, I decide to go for a walk into the forest to think and contemplate a little and also to have a look at some of the other barns I own deeper down inside the forest.

(In reality I don’t own any such barns or land).

As I walk along the worn path into the forest I see what looks like a small ball of what looks like wild animal vomit or perhaps a dropping or maybe even a kind of hairball, its green and very fibrous resembling mainly chewed up grass, I step around the strange deposit wondering what it is.

I continue walking when something flies out from bushes and leaves to my right it’s a giant white butterfly about the size of a small plate it has violet coloured eye patterns on its wings and most bizarrely it seems to be giving a ride to a some ladybirds which are sat on its wings. It makes for a most startling sight and actually makes me jump it’s sort of a mixture of silly fright and wonder, for some reason I don’t want it to touch me or come near me.

I avoid the strange butterfly and its passengers and carry on my way down the path but it isn’t long until I’m stopped in my tracks again by a horrible looking bug crossing my path from right to left. The creature looks a bit like a scarab beetle but I’m aware that it’s a parasite of some sort, its abdomen is huge and looks exactly like the small pouches of blood that are used in hospitals when giving transfusions.

I can see that the beetle’s slightly opaque sac of blood is bloated with dark red fluid suggesting it has just come from feasting somewhere. It has two strange fangs that protrude out horizontally from its head. The two fangs actually look more like syringes or perhaps more exactly the probes or pins on an electrical plug.

I decide to give the creature a wide berth and let it trudge on the way it’s going dragging its large sac of blood behind it. Although it’s already sucked the blood from something I sense that it is more than ready for another meal. I bide my time as it slowly crawls in front of me, it seems to pay me little if any attention as it carries on its way.
