It is morning time and I find myself at a specific location near to my Mum’s house, I have walked
alongside the principle road and have paused near something of a crossroads or junction, to my
left is the entrance into a small municipal airport and to my right (where all of my attention is
focused) on the opposite side of the road is a lane which in waking life leads down to a cul-de-
sac like dead end not far from a busy motorway.
This lane fascinates me (and although I’ve never been down there or paid any attention to it in
waking life after having this dream the lane intrigues me even more now!) so I decide to walk down
there to explore and discover what is there, I’m joined by my wife so we both go together. I’m
surprised to find a whole quaint town or small city there which is very busy and all of a buzz
with members of the public out and about.
Following on with the current trend of my dreams at the moment my wife is seeking a new job and
has an interview in a tall modern tower block building, I watch as my wife takes the elevator up
to the floor where she has her interview and reflect on how happy and content I feel as I know
that I have already found a job.
(There was no malice in this thought and it would seem to be directly related to my current crop
of dreams about my wife and I searching for new jobs (something which we are not actually doing in
waking life which most probably suggests that these dreams are symbolic)).
Whilst my wife has her interview I decide to have a walk around the city exploring and seeing what
there is to see. I immediately turn to my right and see a large outdoor market which I can see is
selling bread, pastries and fried biscuits.
One of the vendors offers me a sample of his wares I take the strange fluted twisted pretzel like
biscuit and have a taste and find that it’s quite delicious. The townsfolk all seem extremely
friendly and warm and it’s not long before we are all chatting with one another, without realizing
it I start speaking to the locals in French which really surprises and even puzzles many of them,
it’s as if they find my language alien.
I revert to English and after having the group chat I strike up a conversation with a young
ragamuffin urchin boy, we chat about the river in my childhood hometown and how it supports so
much life and how it is important to implement conservation and management of the river, wildlife
and countryside along the river.
After chatting I head off into the town to explore further and am immediately struck by the
revelation that every shop in the city is a bakery, I feel very surprised even a bit perplexed by
this but it does feel unusually positive.
Additional Comments:
Thoughts: Yet another dream about jobs although this one did feel quite positive from my own dream point of view, the abundance of bakeries in the dream must have some importance I feel and could easily represent many things although in conjunction with the employment theme it may simply relate to earning ones daily bread and also dough and bread as in the slang term for money. The dream in itself must have some kind of symbolic meaning I feel though as neither my wife nor I are considering changing jobs. Incidentally the lane in this dream really did surprise me with its dream appearance and where it led to, the little road has often caught my attention in waking life years ago when I walked past it but I never actually thought about walking down there to see what was there, the lane had a very ancient field to its right side which was very undulating and apparently a method of farming used by the Saxons....I guess that must sound like waffling but the unexplored lane, the field and then the bread might be somehow pointing towards paths that lead to rewarding opportunities that I am overlooking in some way.
Dream 1: Buying a watch for my sister – Daytime and I find myself in my childhood hometown at the old market place, all of the stalls and vendors are out selling there various wares. I go over to a stall which is selling jewelry and watches and pick up a little box which contains a very feminine watch I decide to buy the timepiece as a gift for my little sister.
Dream 2: Sweet red wine – Sunny and pleasant daytime and I find myself outside a familiar restaurant the scenic rolling countryside in the background has an air of Tuscany about it but also resembles the elevated terraced paddy fields of China too. The owner of a neighboring restaurant has suffered a disaster in that the floors of his building have collapsed and pancaked downwards completely destroying his property, as the owner of the gutted restaurant mourns his loss I see my father-in-law happily serving a special sweet red wine to contented customers from the partially outdoors terrace of the adjoining restaurant.
Dream 3: Strange bed fellows – (A very peculiar dream which doesn’t have any basis in waking life at all). I dream that my sister and I have just slept together and are now sat up in bed chatting matter of factly like a married couple might in a stereotypical post love making sort of way (this was not at all a sexual sort of dream).

I find myself in a television studio where a political discussion is taking place between a French
presidential candidate and a female interviewer. It’s interesting to note that the presidential
aspirant is being played by a stereotypical German rock climber who featured in a 1970’s Clint
Eastwood film I watched parts of the previous evening, but in my dream this character is very quiet
and reserved and almost timid whereas in the film he was clichéd as being arrogant.
(The film was called ‘The Eiger Sanction’ and is probably symbolically relevant on various levels
of my waking life. With all of the fluff removed and at a purely symbolic level at the core the
film is more simply about climbing a mountain which in the context of dreams is deeply symbolic in
itself. The rest of the drama seemed to concern power struggles between the egos of the various
principal characters, as these various people were meant to be a team it could be seen as a thin
metaphor for the discontent between the various aspects that go into making up ones greater
Self….there were lots of other elements in the film which could be turned on their head and viewed
in an alternatively symbolic way but I’m waffling off topic there so back to the dream!).
In the studio the lady interviewer and the presidential candidate seem to be getting along very
well, the politician seems like a very polite, placid and honest man just right for the job of
president.
But suddenly the interviewer drops a bombshell and surprises the audience and the politician with
some footage that was secretly taken of the politician at an outdoor market earlier that day.
The footage shows the politician skulking around the market he is up to no good but seems to be
going about his mischief as discreetly as possible. We watch as the politician is filmed going over
to a clothes stall where he selects a gentleman’s shirt and then goes to pay for it with a handful
of banknotes. He hands the money over to the vendor but at the last moment when he has the stall
owner’s confidence he snatches the cash back and hurries off into the safety and obscurity of the
crowds of market goers shirt and all.
The presidential hopeful is then filmed trying to chat up some young ladies he seems to be making a
nuisance of himself but continues his flirtations regardless of the ladies annoyance.
The scene eventually returns back to the television studio to a silenced and shocked hush, the once
presidential hopeful cringes and is speechless at the investigative journalist’s exposé.
Additional Comments:
Thoughts: I can’t really be sure what this dream is about it seems symbolic and might be linked to Dream 3 but I do also have the flu at the moment and have had a bit of a feverish night last night and the third dream did seem like one of those typical fever type dreams.
Dream 1: High above an archipelago – (A very deep and distant dream, almost forgotten). I find myself flying very high above a peaceful deep blue almost artificial or computer simulated ocean, I can see that I am approaching a lush green archipelago just up ahead. (These dreams of flying over islands recur quite often and feel very vivid and different from my regular dreams, they are always followed by sensations and feelings of having journeyed and travelled to far off unchartered places).
Dream 3: Political hell – It is night time and I find myself in what feels like a haunted house, I am accompanied by a man who might possibly be the presidential candidate from the principal Dream 2. (This dream felt like a separate dream in its own right though and its strange nightmarish drama may have come about due to the feverish flu I have at the moment. The old Victorian house has an eerie Lovecraftian almost sinister black magic air about it. From out of an arched doorway I see a male approach myself and the other man, he is dressed in a long tan coloured robe, something like a duffle coat with a hood, the man’s face is in shadow and not visible he has an ominous monastic aura about him. The robed man lifts the other man who accompanies me and who doesn’t resist up over his shoulder like a sack of coal or potatoes and then turns and carries him off to an adjoining room. I can feel the tension begin to mount and sense that the man who has been carried away is being carted off to meet his doom in the adjoining room. Although the atmosphere is heavy and menacing I can’t resist but see what fate awaits the man when he is thrown into the adjoining room. One of the arched doors is slightly ajar and offers me a peek into the room where I see a giant bodiless skull with glowing red eyes racing around the floor of the small hall in a stop motion animated sort of way chomping and chattering away to itself. (From within the dream this detail was quite scary but on waking it merely seemed preposterous and ridiculous).

It is daytime and I find myself in a particular part of the world in a rundown sleazy town, the
first thing that I notice is that I am a woman in this dream. I am accompanied by another young
lady who seems like a dream friend and who I sense is or was a prostitute I get the impression that
we are both very naïve.
We both head over to a kind of indoor shanty market place which has many stalls each of which seems
to cater for every vice imaginable, I see people selling weapons and guns and others who sell
drugs.
At some point some policemen burst into the building as if carrying out some kind of a raid, one of
the policemen comes up to me and touches me with a black baton which delivers an electric shock and
throws me to the floor.
Upon seeing this the sleazy stall owners come over to defend me and tell the police to leave,
whilst the two sides argue amongst themselves my friend tugs me up and away and we try to head on
through the market place in search of a way out.
I notice something very significant about all of the doors that we pass through in the market, it
is as if two door frames share one door and in closing each of the doors to the market place behind
us we are at the same time opening up new avenues in front of us, this feels very positive and
convenient.
We eventually manage to make our way out of the sleazy market place and come out into the bright
sunshine of a much nicer part of the city which I see is mostly made up of schools, colleges,
universities and other places of education and learning, I watch as many students walk the streets
peacefully with their folders and books tucked beneath their arms.
The friend urges me out into the positive side of town to explore more so I follow her hand in
hand. We walk along a street where we stop to pause in through the window of a shop which sells
musical instruments. In the window display we see a pair of unusual drumsticks the handles of which
have been carved into the shape of very sexy and sensual women.
My friend comments to me that the drumsticks are so sexist, tacky and vulgar.
Additional Comments:
Thoughts: The last part of this dream seems to hark back to my old drum dreams, I’ve read that this drum symbolism might represent the progress that one makes through their life but in the above dream it seemed slightly negative so it may have something to do with certain things dictating my life I guess a bit like how a drummer might dictate the rowing rhythm to slaves on an old galley ship or a drummer boy’s beat orders the pace that the soldiers march into battle like in the olden times.
Dream 2: A loud dream with in a dream – I find myself in a tower block which is a department store, I’m up on the top floor where the cafeteria is located. I appear to be on holiday here with a large group of unfamiliar dream people. As night approaches I fall asleep inside a large oblong box which is very much like a coffin but without the lid, I feel cramped and have a restless nights sleep. In the morning I go into the cafeteria for breakfast where I’m greeted with scowls and frowns from my tired looking holiday companions. Everyone complains to me saying that I was screaming and shouting in my (dream) sleep and kept waking everyone up. I apologise and suddenly have a flashback to the dream or maybe nightmare I was having within the my real dream and see that my reason for a restless night was that I was dreaming that I was abused when I was younger, I saw a dark hazy vision of a naked man stood in front of me (?). I try to explain to everyone why I was screaming and shouting in my sleep and most people are understanding at hearing my story but one man doesn’t care and is very blasé and unfeeling about the whole matter. This infuriates me greatly and I feel wild with rage at his lack of compassion and ignorance.
