It is daytime and I find myself riding a motorcycle with a large group of other motorcyclists who are new dream friends of mine. We ride along a busy motorway which is full of lots of large agricultural transporters carrying big bales of hay.

Our large group is traveling to somewhere important and our motorcycles are laden with all of our luggage. As well as my own baggage I have a shoulder bag or satchel hung around my shoulders, there is a sandwich in the bag that I would like to eat as I ride along but it’s not a very easy thing to do whilst trying to ride and fumble about in the knapsack.

Suddenly up in front of me I see one of the large agricultural vehicles starts to lose some of its hay bales, one of the bales starts to break up and scatter all over the motorway. The driver of the vehicle stops the truck and gets out to gather up the loose straw and hay.

I’m shocked at the abrupt halting of the vehicle and have to swerve around the trailer and the driver or farmer who happens to be an attractive woman dressed in traditional farmer’s clothes. I controlled the situation very well and avoided an accident, as I pass by the lorry I hope that the woman will be okay and manage to gather up her hay bales.

Later on my new dream friends and I find ourselves at a large airport, we have ridden here in our big group in order to check in for a flight. As we hang around to check in we stand in line with our luggage all about us whilst we chat and talk amongst ourselves.

A female friend in our group comes over to me she is a little anxious and tells me worriedly that the check-in steward has just warned her that we have sixteen items of luggage between us and we are only allowed to take fourteen items onto the plane.

I tell my friend not to worry as I have a solution. I pick up the smallest piece of hand luggage and place it inside a medium sized piece of baggage. I then take the medium sized bag and place this inside one of the larger suitcases. Problem solved! Now we only have fourteen items of luggage, I feel very content at having solved the luggage dilemma.

Additional Comments:

Interpretation: The new dream friends in this dream felt familiar to me from within the dream but also like recently discovered friends too. On waking the group seemed very new as well and the impression I was given was that these people were all fresh characters I haven’t dreamt of before. The number sixteen occurred in this dream too ‘The astrological sixteen.’ - 02/05/08 and also concerned a group, perhaps it was the same group? It didn’t really feel like it to me although sixteen items of luggage would imply 16 members of the group. I have been puzzling over what the significance of the number sixteen could mean, the act that it is a square number appeals to me and the fact that 4 multiplied by 4 gives 16....four being a whole number would give 16 an extra dimension of wholeness I guess! Out of curiosity I looked up what the 16th card in the tarot deck is as I’m very much interested in the idea of the story of the fool’s journey portrayed in the major cards. The sixteenth card is “The Tower” which fits surprisingly neatly into my current life based on some of what this card is meant to represent (ego protection, a needed shake-up, wake-up call etc) and also with how the drama in the dream played itself out. Also my life hasn’t been so easy just lately, the Tower card comes after the Devil and before the star suggesting that one might need to go through some kind of personal hell in order to find heaven or inner peace. In the dream I was journeying too and the final destination of the airport could at a push be seen to equate with the Star card that comes after the Tower I guess. I definitely think this dream is trying to say something (particularly with the hay bales and the luggage) but I’ll have to think a bit more about it and maybe come back to add further comments. Dream 1: Muddy farmyard – It is daytime and I find myself outdoors in a very muddy farmyard, I am stood in front of a large 4x4 off-road Land Rover with an unfamiliar dream character who also feels like a good friend. The typical farm vehicle is absolutely plastered with thick mud over its entirety, the friend and I have the bonnet up and are filling the vehicle up with petrol. I start to become very anxious and concerned that it isn’t good that the farm vehicle is covered in so much mud, but suddenly a gentle but at the same time booming disembodied voice sounds out all around me and tells me not to worry as this particular vehicle was built to take being covered in so much mud.

    Hungry horse.

It is daytime and I find myself back in time possibly Victorian or Edwardian times, I am walking through the cobbled street of a grim heavily industrialised old worldly town, it could be London or maybe up North. I am walking with a big brown horse which I am aware is mine, he doesn’t have a bridle or wear any leather accessories.

I lead my horse through the streets on a short length of rope, which is either tied around his neck or fixed to his mouth somehow. The horse is a real beauty with a deep rich chestnut brown red colour and a long black mane. I feel very lucky to have him and I feel very close to him, its almost as if we are best friends and love one another very much.

As I walk and lead my gentle quiet horse I realise that he is hungry and needs to be fed, he is a very healthy and fit horse but his stomach looks slightly swollen as if he hadn’t eaten for a long time. I look for ways to find him some food, I scheme a plan to steal some hay or straw from somewhere but I change my mind though realising that it would be wrong.

I then come up with the idea of taking my horse far away from here to an alpine meadow. I see a picture of the meadow in my minds eye, it looks heavenly, peaceful and fresh. The meadow would be the perfect place for both of us and there would be plenty of grazing there so that my horse could eat to his hearts content.
