I am way down deep under the sea trudging through the thick grey sludge that makes up the seabed,
I’m heading in the direction of the shore.
I can see that I’m approaching a harbor as my route up onto dry land is blocked by a huge long brick
wall which descends way down to the seafloor.
As I look way up above at the underneath of the rippling sea I watch as a huge hovercraft floats
overhead and up onto the beach, the power that this amazing craft possesses is unbelievable and I’m
aware that it also carries a huge load of hundreds of cars as well as passengers too which makes the
feat even more impressive.
I feel a twinge of envy almost jealousy as the incredible craft glides easily off the water up onto the
sloping shore to dry land, "I wish I could do that" I think to myself.

Interpretation: The hovercraft has been a symbol for me once or twice before, it’s very intriguing to me
and perhaps suggests a means of traversing difficult situations in my waking life (subconscious or
emotional as represented by the sea). It also symbolizes air too which is another recurring symbol for
me, if anyone reading has any ideas what the hovercraft might represent I’d be very interested to
hear. I can think of two situations how this drama might be related to my waking life, the first might be
that I’ve been feeling very emotional just lately therefore the sea might represent this burden and the
hovercraft a lighter means to overcome these crushing feelings. On the other hand the sea might
represent my subconscious, I tend to look inwards a lot and focus on my inner self perhaps to the
detriment of my outer life. In this regard the hovercraft might again suggest a means of traveling or
exploring both the subconscious and conscious safely or more comfortably. One of the definitions I
have found for being underwater backs up some of these thoughts, apparently being underwater can
suggest that one is feeling overcome with emotions and is in need of greater control in your life. I have
also read that dreaming that one is breathing underwater can represent a retreat back into the womb
(in this dream I was obviously breathing underwater but didn’t realise it or was to caught up in the rest
of the drama to realise). I have read that floating on the other hand can symbolise acceptance and the
letting go of ones problems or worries and just going with the flow, it can represent new found freedom.
Floating and perhaps hovering can also mean that the dreamer will prove victorious in overcoming
obstacles that may presently seem overwhelming. Perhaps I just need to let go of my worries in order
to be free, it’s that simple....one way of gauging this would be to try and make the necessary changes
in my waking life and then wait to see if my dreams indicate a change, for example if I do manage to
make the changes successfully then perhaps I would have a floating or hovering dream (these are
always nice!) or maybe even a dream where I would be piloting a hovercraft.
Dream 1: Bacon & eggs – I am taken on a coach journey somewhere by a group of strangers, the
coach is very packed and full of people I don’t recognize. The group is being led or guided by a very
mysterious man dressed in a long cape and wearing a very wide brimmed hat. The coach eventually
stops at a vague dreamy and dark area which seems like a void out in the middle of nowhere, most of
the strangers wander off but the mysterious man takes me over to a long truck which is being used to
serve hot snacks from one side where the panel is raised up to create something of a wide serving
hatch. The man starts to cook some bacon and eggs in order to make me some breakfast. Half way
through the cooking he tells me that he has to leave but that a woman will be along shortly to finish off
the cooking for me. I wait, and wait, and wait for ages but nobody turns up, worried that the food has
started to burn I climb up into the trailer to see what is going on. The bacon has certainly frazzled and
is no longer fit to eat, the egg on the other hand is utterly bizarre (really not sure how to describe
this....) the egg without its shell is sat up in the frying pan as if still managing to hold the shape it would
have had inside the shell (?) the egg seems to be trying to resist the heat of the frying pan by sitting
up! I can see that its bum (!) has started to cook though and has tuned white as opposed to the rest of
its clear liquid body. I wonder where the woman is who promised she would turn up I feel let down and
disappointed. I see an image of her in my minds eye and recognize her immediately but cannot place
from where. I frustrate myself from this point forward until I wake up with who the mystery woman is, I
feel that I should definitely know her and that she is somebody very close to me but no matter how
hard I try I just can’t make the link.

I find myself sat in the rear of a car the vehicle is full of a group of young hoodlum men who are out for
a joyride. I notice that my (crazy) cousin is sat in the front passenger seat just in ahead of me, he is
bouncing about like a mad chimp enjoying the wild experience.
We are all traveling along a busy suburban street at a very quick pace I gather that the men are
making their way to a dock, quay or harbor near to the sea for some special reason. Their driving is
quite erratic and wild but I feel numb to the experience. I convince the gang of youths to let me take
over and drive them to their destination.
I get into the driver’s seat and immediately push the accelerator into the floor as far as it will go, I
elevate the previously wild experience from a joyride into a full blown interstellar warp drive. The gang
of tough youths and my cousin are now scrabbling to find a place to cower in the missile like car, they
think I’ve flipped and want me to stop.
I see the jetty up ahead the car literally takes of before coming crashing down onto the concrete
platform. I decide to finish off the end of the journey with an enormous arcing hand brake skid, the car
spirals around and ends up pirouetting straight off the quayside.
Miraculously everyone seemed to exit the car before it launched off into the sea, I see the gang and my
cousin stood on the jetty looking at me as if I’m completely nuts. They seem quite angry with me as I
went too far and have now lost their car, we all watch as the car seems to shrink becoming miniature in
size as it falls down into the sea below.
The car lands exactly on the deck of a small sunken boat, I decide to go down and retrieve the car to
correct my foolishness. I leap off the jetty onto the area where the pier is and then consider leaping
down off the pier into the water below but it is too high up so instead I slide down a pole very much like
a fireman’s pole into the shallow sea below.
I climb back up onto the jetty with the car I’ve recovered is merely a toy and of no use to the gang
now. A part of me realizes I’m dreaming and I decide to use my creative powers to summon up a new
car for the gang and cousin. Seeing that it’s a dream and that I could create any car they wished I
decide to create a specific Jaguar super car called the XJ220.
I think that by doing this I will win back their favor again but unfortunately as I try to magic up a car
from thin air I end up creating an awful looking glittery purple hearse. This is quite possibly the ugliest
and most horrible car I could have conjured up. The gang and my cousin are all absolutely disgusted by
its un-cool appearance, its so bad that they are almost in hysterics, disbelief and fits of laughter at its
ugliness and uselessness.
I feel inept and a twinge of embarrassment as I felt certain that I had the ability to magic up a great
super car for them but it looks like I need to hone my creative skills more, this disastrous and
monstrous creation is of no use to the joyrider’s at all.
Additional Comments:
Interpretation: I think this dream is about extremes and having an all or nothing kind of attitude and
also how in rushing to get somewhere or achieve something one can miss the joy of the actual
experience. The part where I realized I was dreaming made a pleasant change but the symbolism
seemed very powerful, the contrast between the Jaguar I wanted to create and the sickly spiritual
kitsch hearse I ended up with probably shows how I feel I’ve reached a dead end but how I wish I
could get things moving again.
Dream 2: No parking in London – My wife, an electrician friend and I are driving around the hectic
streets of London in separate cars in the evening time. We desperately have to all meet up with one
another as there is something very urgent we need to discuss, talk about or sort out. The task is made
impossibly hard though by the fact the traffic is so dense and there is literally no where to park. In
desperation we park up on the sidewalk to quickly share a few words but when we hear a police siren
coming our way we have to break up our meeting to get back into our cars, we are forced to keep on
the move.
Dream 3: The real renovators – I’m in an unfamiliar apartment room that is a kind of dream home,
some renovation work is going but I don’t seem to be involved. Thankfully a team of professionals has
come to do all of the work for me, they don’t hang about and work very fast getting many of the tasks
done straight away. I don’t feel bad about not helping in fact it alleviates my own tiredness and fatigue.
I use a toilet in front of the builders as they work, I don’t feel at all embarrassed and feel a great sense
of relief. (Probably wish fulfillment as I could really do with such a team helping me in waking life to
take away the burden of all of the work I have to do).
Dream 4: Investigating a strange affair – In this dream I am living with a woman quite a few years
older than me in her small semi-detached suburban house. We seem very happy together but we make
a very muddled and confused couple, we are in love but rarely get to see one another due to time
constraints. A group of police detectives comes to the house one day to carry out an investigation into
our strange relationship, the investigation isn’t to find evidence of criminal activity but seems to be
simply out of sheer curiosity.
Dream 5: Simple sex – I find myself in my current bedroom my wife rolls over and wakes me up, she
gives me a nudge and tries to initiate sex but I feel so exhausted I roll back over and pass out. (This
was something like a very vague false awakening).
