Daytime and I find myself at an unfamiliar dreamy and sunny suburban house out on the back porch,
the house seems to be something of a family home.
My little sister lives here too, I’m sat on the back step looking at a pet earthworm she has in a
small glass terrarium full of soil.
The worm actually seems sort of positive I watch as it wriggles about like crazy in the earth
turning it over, I imagine that it must being doing the soil in the tank the world of good perhaps
too much good as the earth starts to become kind of fluffy and very aerated.
It strikes me that it would be much better to let the worm free in the garden where it could go
about its work much better and puts its abundant and seemingly limitless energy to use in helping
create a beautiful garden with healthy fertile earth.
Thoughts: This dream might be a kind of progression on from my previous horticultural dreams, I have been gardening at home just recently so this drama may have worked its way in from that angle. I can’t say that the worm in the dream was 100% positive but that doesn’t mean that it was negative either, just squeamish I guess, maybe it’s just another symbol of transformation that I feel uncomfortable with?
Dream 1: Roof top to roof top – Daytime and I watch detachedly as a sniper fires a shot from the roof top of a skyscraper at a group of politicians and other VIP’s on the roof top of another skyscraper some distance away. A man in a grey flannel suit gets shot in the back near his right shoulder blade this man wasn’t the intended target and just happened to get in the way. He may have intentionally dived in front of the person who was being aimed at in order to protect him, either way the intended high ranking political target survives.
Dream 2: Musical checkout – Evening time and I find myself at the check-out of an unfamiliar supermarket. Apparently in the dream I used to have a Walkman cassette tape player which eventually wore out with age. Fortunately I can see a display stand conveniently just within reach with a selection of brand new Walkmans displayed on it, I quickly reach over and take one and happily place it the conveyor belt with the rest of my shopping.
Dream 3: Descaling agent – In a dim old house I’m trying to do lots of cleaning and tidying, my wife is here too and she is trying to do cleaning and tidying as well. I manage to get many loads of laundry washed and hung out to dry. In a dim basement washroom whilst I’m tidying I find a plastic carrier bag which is full of clear plastic bottles which contain a thick blue fluid in the form of a descaling agent (the kind used to get rid of limescale in washing machines), the bottles appear to have been leaking their gooey blue fluid from the necks of the bottles. I go to take a damp cloth or sponge to wipe the plastic containers clean. Looking inside the bag there must be perhaps between 10 and 15 bottles, I wonder why on earth we would need so much of the descaling agent?
Dream 4: Fat cat – In a very vague hazy dreamy version of my Mum’s front door step I see my old pet cat, she looks quite over weight almost like a big heavy balloon of fur with tiny little legs and arms poking out, she rolls about on her back as if trying to right herself so she can go indoors. She is overweight but I realise that it’s not really her fault, it’s just because she is so very old now I understand.
Dream 5: War paint – Very late in the evening almost night time, I find myself in Africa out in the savannah near to a small tribal dwelling, outdoors dancing around a bonfire are some virtually naked tribesmen toting their spears. The dancing is quite frightening and frenzied and as the gyring, leaping and erratic dance reaches a climax the men start to paint their bodies and faces with a white war paint. As the men continue to leap about in the darkness of the night like illusory skeletons I try to call out and implore them to stop their wildness even though they cause me no harm, but the men are far too deep in into their dance induced trance to even notice me.

(Stayed up too late last night so had a bit of a hard time with dream recall, the one mentioned below
was concise and clear though probably due to it being the last one before I woke up).
I am walking through a beautiful forested valley I’m way back into time before the great civilizations in
the Paleolithic times. The scenery and landscape is stunningly pure and beautiful completely untouched
by human hands, it actually makes me semi lucid to reflect on nature in this way and makes me
incredibly happy to be right back before the time of buildings and before humans started messing up
I can even imagine the entire globe being as pure and natural as the valley I am currently stood in I
feel really connected to the earth seemingly knowing what is happening in other parts of the world even
though I have no possible means of ever traveling there.
I feel sort of like a cave man dressed in furs but I don’t feel at all unsophisticated and clumsy like these
ancient peoples are often portrayed but actually quite the opposite, sort of completely in tune with my
environment and totally self reliant this gives a strange feeling of total freedom. I even have a small
belt with stone, stick and bone tools around my waist, everything I need I seem to be carrying on me
even my body feels like a perfectly honed tool.
Suddenly I’m frightened by a roaring behind me I turn and see an absolutely gigantic bear lumbering
after me on all fours, I panic and think about unsheathing a sword from my belt to attack the huge
beast with but it suddenly strikes me that swords haven’t been invented yet! I think to myself I’ll have
to use my wooden club instead but I reject that idea as whacking the bear on the head with my
relatively tiny wooden club isn’t going to have any effect apart from enraging it further.
I start to run across the meadow away from the bear but as I try to flee I suddenly realize that I’m
running along a country lane with very tall hedgerows at head height, I’m lucid enough to realize that
this cannot be right as roads and lanes like this weren’t invented this far back? The puzzling thought is a
distraction but not distracting enough to stop me trying to escape the bear which is a much more urgent
matter, I take a running leap and attempt to fling and throw myself over the hedge just to my right.
The hedge is very high though and I either land on top of it and crumple inside it or tumble over the
other side. It’s not really an ideal solution to get away from the bear anyway as the enormous beast is
plenty large enough to simply plough through the hedgerow pushing it aside as if it were mere fluff.
The above dream was the third one of three other dreams, I have mentioned the other two briefly
Dream 1: Museum miniatures – I have been visiting a museum and have finished the tour and come
out on the other side of the large building where I find a long souvenir shop full of lots of items for
visitors to the museum to buy. I take a look and see that all of the objects on sale are tiny miniatures
of the examples on display in the museum I want to buy a few things for my little sister so have a good
glance around the glass cabinets. Many of the objects look like the tiny little things one might find in a
Victorian dolls house I see that most of the objects are actually reasonably priced and cost £18, £19
and £22 but unfortunately for me I just don’t have that kind of money on me at the moment so I will
have to be very selective about what I choose to buy.
Dream 2: New Order’s great new song but not loud enough – I am on the stage at my old primary
school with the 1980’s electronic group New Order I am helping them with a great new song that they
are performing. The song is very good but none of the band members seem to be able to play their
instruments very loudly, I see one member playing a kind of little electronic keyboard it’s the kind that
is held to the mouth and blown through like a flute. As the song comes to an end the audience gives a
round of applause which is nice but the band all walk off to the left of the stage looking a little glum and
dejected that their instruments didn’t play loud enough.
