I find myself in a canoe with my little sister way out on a undulating polygonal hyperreal sea, the
scenery is opaque and jewel like with a glassy inner light.
As the kayak bobs way up and then deep down I see a tiny desert island not far off in the distance,
I endeavor to paddle over towards it in order to make a landing. As I row I see that the bay area
is awash with lots of inorganic orange crystal crabs, I feel quite unafraid and unthreatened as
their angular shells clatter and jostle against the side of the boat like some kind of alien pack
ice as I make my way up onto the beach.
I am made aware that the seemingly artificial or computer generated island is occupied by a giant
King Kong gorilla and his young son and it is my task to capture these two cartoonish beasts.
I have a lasso with which to carry out this task but first I have to practice throwing it as it is
not an easy thing to master, it takes me a while to understand how the lasso works but once I do
learn how to use the lasso I feel filled with a wonderful feeling.
I set out and manage to first capture the adult gorilla by lassoing the immense beast around his
upper arms and body, the task is surprisingly easy and once captured the King Kong submits to my
control.
The smaller chimp like Kong is more fidgety and laughs and mocks me from a distance but I soon
manage to swoop my lasso down onto him and sweep him up towards me and place him also under my
control too.

Thoughts: This dream seems to have some links to the bullfighting dream from a night or two ago in fact it’s made me see that dream in a slightly different light, both dreams seem to be a little about trying to tame or control animal instincts.
Dream 1: Snap-on, slide off – (Some background information, I’m currently at home on holiday). Daytime and I have gone into work to help out as I heard my manager and colleagues were struggling, I feel very good in myself particularly as I feel needed, full of confidence and positively assertive. After helping get the situation back under control I get up to leave and go back home but before doing so I hold up my left hand and indicate with my fingers that I’ll be back in 5 days whilst pointing to the telephone as if to suggest I can be contacted if need be. Outside I come upon an unfamiliar scene on a large porch outside a large green wooden Victorian house, I note that there is a rich green privet hedge or bush just outside of the house which has a mallard nestled on top of it. I see a familiar lady near the porch sunbathing on a sun lounger, the lady gets up and takes me off down the grassy hill in front of the property as she wants to show me something. I’m taken to an open outdoor area where I can see a factory used to stand but now all that remains are the concrete foundations and floor and some old abandoned machinery. The lady shows me an old Victorian cast iron furnace something like the engine barrel of a steam locomotive, the furnace appears to have been used to smelt metals, the lady proceeds to give me a little background to its use and history. I’m then shown some tall red cabinets that contain the kinds of tools a car mechanic would use, I recognise that the tools are manufactured by the company ‘Snap-on’. The lady then walks on ahead of me and out of the factory into a pleasant wilderness area. Suddenly the tall red tool cabinets begin to dangerously roll on their small wheels and slide down towards her so I quickly run after them and manage to stop them before they have a chance of bumping into her and causing her any harm.

Daytime and a short dream where I find myself out at sea watching an Aesop’s like tale about a sea salmon and a crab. The lowly crab helps the noble salmon by picking small parasites from its body, the drama seems metaphorical somehow like a fable.

Thoughts: I can’t really say what this dream means perhaps something to do with the unconscious
although I was left with the impression that it definitely carries a meaning of some sort a bit like a
parable. All of last night’s dreams were quite vivid and I was surprised by my recall as I haven’t been
feeling very well the past day or two, the final dream I had last night also contained animals too.
Dream 1: Raising the roof – It is late evening time and I find myself inside an old stone barn that was a
part of my childhood home, this barn appears to be a new home for my wife and I. The barn needs a
great deal of work doing to it as it currently just a large littered open space, the walls look quite good
and are a rustic white with medieval style wrought iron lit candelabras. My wife asks me if we will be
able to have a second floor created upstairs, it doesn’t look possible to me though but I still take out a
tape measure to check the height from the floor up to the current ceiling. After checking the
measurements I explain it won’t be possible as both floors would end up having impractically low
ceilings so it will be better to keep just one large room with a high ceiling. I also add as if to back up
my story that the task involved in fitting new joists for an upstairs floor would entail a huge amount of
work and would necessitate taking the barn to pieces stone by stone which seems pointless to me. I
continue to go about my work and with a broom I sweep out a lot of organic matter such as leaves and
dump it on the other side of the road near the hedge, after I’ve done this I wonder if somebody will
come and complain to me for leaving the old vegetation lying there.
Dream 2: Covering a cupboard door – Daytime and I find myself at an unfamiliar version of the place
where I work in waking life I’m walking around looking for a small piece of particle board in order to
cover a cupboard door with. I note that I’m dressed quite casually in an indigo coloured t-shirt it would
appear that I’m too casually dressed as a top manager walks past me and gives me a very sharp and
mean glare as if he disapproves immensely of my clothing. The casual clothing seemed okay at first but
now arrangements at work appear to have been made much stricter in all regards. I wander out into a
corridor where I see some men in white overalls renovating the hallway, I watch as one man puts
together a scaffolding framework I watch lucidly as he uses a gravely cement to put the frame together
which strikes me as most unusual. Amongst their many sheets of particle board I find a small trapezoid
shaped scrap which seems perfect for the cupboard door I want to cover. I go back into the office area
and crouch down and somehow manage to glue it onto the cupboard door (the task in itself seems
pointless to me in waking but that’s what I was doing in the dream so I guess it has some sort of a
meaning). When I get up from the work I look out of the windows and see that it is raining, in fact it is
really hammering down creating a watery blur of the scenery outdoors.
Dream 3: Mario the bear – Evening time and I find myself find myself in the slightly creepy house of an
unfamiliar kooky family of a mother, father, daughter and son. I’m made aware that the daughter and
son are involved in some kind of strange incestuous relationship I watch as they perform oral sex on
one another the purpose of which seems to be to do with cleansing, in fact I watch as they take a bath
together and continue their ritual. Much later I’m taken to the swimming pool in my childhood
hometown by the eerie family, we all enter the pool and go under the water, we stand at the bottom of
the pool watching the bathers above us through an unpleasant cloudy yellow water which can only be
described as looking like urine. I drift away from the strange family when I notice that there are
animals floating in the pool up above, I float up to the surface where I see two lifeless camels floating
on their sides in the pool. I then paddle down to the shallows where I’m met by the startling sight of a
huge bear walking upright back and forth in the shallow end, a swimming pool attendant explains that
these creatures represent some kind of cruel entertainment for the people who come to swim at the
pool (some sort of vague parallel between the animals and inflatable amusements). I see that the bear
has been dressed in human clothing something like a lumberjack might wear and I also notice that all
of the huge beasts fur has been removed leaving it with an uncanny human appearance. It is also
impressed upon me that the bear’s claws have been pulled out so as to prevent it from harming
anybody swimming at the pool, something which must have caused the bear extreme pain I imagine.
Suddenly the bear speaks to me which causes me a great deal of shock and surprise, the bear
introduces himself as Mario and asks me in a deep despondent melancholy voice if I could wipe the
steam and condensation from the swimming pool windows as that is the only little pleasure he has now
to watch the world pass by outside the window. I want to help this sad creature so I go over to the
window and wipe the condensation away. I look outside and see that it is night time and snowing. (The
last part of this dream affected me a lot emotionally for some reason and as it was the last dream I had
before waking up I really felt very emotional almost tearful for some strange reason at the bears
plight).
