Hurdling with cars is surely impossible.

It’s daytime and I find myself in a very familiar dream setting that I dream of from time to time which is usually associated with challenges in one form or another. It’s a rough wide stony path out in the countryside, this path usually has doorways and obstacles to overcome set upon it and in this dream it resembles a long straight military assault course very much like the ones where soldiers have to climb over very tall walls and drop over the other side before continuing on their way to the next obstacle.

On the stony path there are many of these large walls to overcome ahead of me and just beyond these barriers I sense is some kind of goal or finish point way off in the far distance, behind me a short way back is the canteen from my place of work with a vague atmosphere of colleagues and other strangers milling about.

I watch as quite a few of these colleagues are trying to drive their cars along the rough road and are trying to vault the barriers by literally driving their cars head on at them. It seems like a completely impossible thing to do in a car some of the people do manage to force their cars in a near vertical position up against the barriers but there is absolutely no way to get the cars up and over the top of them.

A work friend then offers me the use of his car so that I can try and have a go at mounting the vertical obstacles on the path, his car is a sleek long glossy black limousine I try and drive up the walls in the car but keep crashing into them I rev and accelerate but simply bounce back off the wall as I’d pretty much expected (it struck me a little from within the dream and upon waking that this was a completely pointless exercise and that trying to make a car drive up a vertical wall and down the other side was obviously quite an impossible thing to do).

In the end I give up feeling a little deflated and annoyed by the awkwardness and perhaps stupidity of the exercise or challenge (if that is what it represented?) and walk back down the stony road towards the canteen. The little son of the man who lent me his car comes over to me talk with me as I walk back, I’m immediately surprised to see that he is white which seems to contrast with the fact that his father is black. We have a friendly innocent chat with one another about the challenging barriers and generally make small talk with each other.

When I get back to the semi-outdoor canteen I take a hot drink and a snack and reflect back on the challenging road with its obstacles and what its purpose might be if there is one.

I’m in a dim boardroom with one or two managerial types (a man and a woman I feel) having some kind of meeting. I’m being informed that I have been given some kind promotion or offer of a new position. I am going to be given the canteen to run and be in charge of. In fact the canteen will literally be given to me and become my own property and personal possession.

In order to get started with this new endeavour though I have to ask an important favour from a colleague, I need to swap some lunch dates or a business appointment with him or even ask him to cancel one that he has made in order for me to take mine. I speak to him about it and he is unusually helpful and seems to be willing to assist me, it appears that he eventually decides to grant the favour.

I go outside of the building to take a look at the canteen building, it is a long one-storey affair looking almost like a farm building. I look through a window and notice that it has two walls with a gap in between them kind of like a double lining its quite prominent and noticeable. Looking through the window I can see the stainless steel worktops of the canteens kitchen.

The outside of the building looks very dirty there are these strange square portholes where waste food is discarded from, I see an unpleasant custard like creamy substance blocking one of the holes. I feel very strongly that I want to give the entire building a good clean and in order to do this I’m going to buy or rent one of these high-pressure water or steam cleaners.

Feeling satisfied that the jet wash cleaner would be the ideal tool to clean the building I turn around and see another colleague leaning over a small hedgerow looking for berries to drop in his basket. The sky is a bit overcast and gloomy, I see that the hedge has been hacked and mutilated’ its only about knee high not very green and consist of twigs and small trunks.

I call out to my colleague and point to a small clump of brambles growing near to the canteen wall and tell him that if he wants some berries for his basket then there are a couple growing over here. Looking down I can see some red raspberries growing wild but I also recognise some other orange ones growing amongst the good ones that are poisonous too.

(Bizarrely) I think to myself it won’t be too bad if a few of the poisonous ones got added to the basket and even eaten as there are some natural flowers or leaves growing right alongside them that would act as a remedy or antidote to the poisonous berries. The leaves are quite large and look a little bit like dock leaves. (It struck me that nature is offering a problem but a solution too).

This dream has been viewed 4032 times.

It is daytime and I find myself in a self-service canteen come restaurant. Three African-American guys and one white woman accompany me, they all appear to be (dream) friends of mine or colleagues.

We are all walking through the quite busy self-service section selecting the foods that we want to eat as part of our meal, the group of four all walk just ahead of me as I follow behind.

It seems that the three guys had wanted to pick up some de-shelled boiled eggs to have with their meal, but they have already walked on past the area where the eggs were displayed.

They call out to me and ask if I wouldn’t mind passing them a few of the boiled eggs. Its no problem for me as the eggs are just to my left, I lean back and pick up a piece of roast chicken (a part of the breast or a leg).

I pass the piece of roast chicken to one of the guys. All four of them look at me bewildered as I if I have gone a bit potty, they all say something along the lines of “Hey! We asked for eggs not chicken!”

I seem to realise what I did wrong and lean back to pick up the eggs. Again I pick up a piece of roast chicken and hand it to one of the guys. This time they all look at me silently as if I have got some kind of problem.

I realise what I keep doing is wrong but I can’t seem to differentiate between the chicken and eggs in the dream. I feel kind of stupid and a little mad but I simply cannot tell the difference between the chicken and the eggs once it is in my hand?

    Additional Comments:

Bizarrely, I really couldn’t tell the difference between the roast chicken and the eggs in this dream?
