Hurdling with cars is surely impossible.

This dream has been viewed 4034 times.
It’s daytime and I find myself in a very familiar dream setting that I dream of from time to time which is usually associated with challenges in one form or another. It’s a rough wide stony path out in the countryside, this path usually has doorways and obstacles to overcome set upon it and in this dream it resembles a long straight military assault course very much like the ones where soldiers have to climb over very tall walls and drop over the other side before continuing on their way to the next obstacle. On the stony path there are many of these large walls to overcome ahead of me and just beyond these barriers I sense is some kind of goal or finish point way off in the far distance, behind me a short way back is the canteen from my place of work with a vague atmosphere of colleagues and other strangers milling about.
I watch as quite a few of these colleagues are trying to drive their cars along the rough road and are trying to vault the barriers by literally driving their cars head on at them. It seems like a completely impossible thing to do in a car some of the people do manage to force their cars in a near vertical position up against the barriers but there is absolutely no way to get the cars up and over the top of them.
A work friend then offers me the use of his car so that I can try and have a go at mounting the vertical obstacles on the path, his car is a sleek long glossy black limousine I try and drive up the walls in the car but keep crashing into them I rev and accelerate but simply bounce back off the wall as I’d pretty much expected (it struck me a little from within the dream and upon waking that this was a completely pointless exercise and that trying to make a car drive up a vertical wall and down the other side was obviously quite an impossible thing to do).
In the end I give up feeling a little deflated and annoyed by the awkwardness and perhaps stupidity of the exercise or challenge (if that is what it represented?) and walk back down the stony road towards the canteen. The little son of the man who lent me his car comes over to me talk with me as I walk back, I’m immediately surprised to see that he is white which seems to contrast with the fact that his father is black. We have a friendly innocent chat with one another about the challenging barriers and generally make small talk with each other.
When I get back to the semi-outdoor canteen I take a hot drink and a snack and reflect back on the challenging road with its obstacles and what its purpose might be if there is one.
