Archaeological walls to be left untouched & floating away.

It is daytime and I find myself on a country lane not too far from my Mum’s house and where I lived about 10 years ago. I’m stood a few yards away from a T-junction looking at an area of land where in reality there is a garden centre, the kind that sells shrubs, plants flowers and pond materials.

(In my dream) the garden centre is no longer there but is replaced by a chest high network of walls on bare flattened land. The walls are made from unusually smooth stones, kind of like large polished beach pebbles or rounded flint rocks. They have been cemented and compacted into place very firmly, I sense that the compressed nature of the walls makes them extremely sturdy, solid and resistant.

I want to knock down all of the walls for some reason (I vaguely feel as if I want to reclaim the land and perhaps build something else here). Strangely in the dream it didn’t click that this land never belonged to me in the first place and that I don’t have the right to go ahead and do such a thing. The area where I am is nearly two kilometres away from my old home but in the dream I assumed that it was a part of my property (?).

I take a look around the large area of land where the walls are situated and realize that it is actually some kind of archeological site that has just been excavated. None of the archeologists or digger’s are about but it looks as if they have completed their work and uncovered all that there is to discover. Everything is tidy and has been put back as it was save for the walls which are now uncovered and on display for all to see.

It soon becomes apparent to me that I will not be able to knock these walls down as I had wished as they are protected, apparently the local authorities have listed this site as a place of public interest and it must remain untouched for perpetuity. I feel a little annoyed at this but there is nothing I can do as the site has been preserved as a site of national heritage.

I decide to take a stroll around and have a look behind the walls, in order to access the area I have to lift up a heavy wrought iron garden gate off its hinges and rest it up against one of the walls before proceeding on into the old dwellings.

It soon becomes apparent that each of the perimeter walls used to support a roof but they have since decayed and are long gone, there remain just the walls and a flat compressed earth floor or foundations. I realize that the archeologists will probably return at some point as there may still be one or two relics left to discover like old coins but on the whole their work is done here.

Having seen enough and come to terms with the fact that I will just have to leave the area as it is I decide to leave. I turn around and see a large group of people all stood in front of me near to a wooded hedge, they all look like work colleagues in particular technicians from the Information Technology department. Three of the men seem to think I am staring at them and say tersely “What are you looking at?”

I wasn’t staring at all but before I get a chance to respond or explain I am picked up off my feet and whisked into the sky. The sensation is wonderful I feel just like a dandelion seed that has been caught by a gust of wind and carried away, it also feels just like I have an umbrella opened above my head and as if I was as light as a leaf or feather. I am swept high up into the air kind of in the style Mary Poppin’s!

The feeling and sensation is completely wonderful but I don’t have any control over where I am heading it’s almost as if some higher power is directing me via the wind. It’s not at all a negative feeling either but without any control over where I am whisked off to I’m left wondering where I will end up.

Additional Comments:

I had two other dreams that I could recall from this night. In the first I was in a white pristine garage. In the middle of the garage is a workbench with what looks like some kind of large flexible piece of canvas laying upon it, I am spraying the heavily woven material with a compressor full of blue paint. I am made aware that the canvas had previously been sprayed by somebody else with yellow paint. The opaque thin film of paint I have applied has created the effect of producing a new colour of green. Two very elderly people, a man and woman stand behind me watching my work, they seem content and satisfied with what they see.

In the second dream it is late at night time and I am in my old hometown travelling to work (I don’t work at night time in reality....apart from the dreaming!). I am driving down a familiar dual carriageway, I arrive at the roundabout and realise that I have been driving on the wrong side of the road and am about to try and circulate the traffic circle in the wrong direction. I seem to have got confused between the road driving positions in continental Europe and England, at the last moment I slam on the brakes swerve and go around the roundabout in the right direction. I sense that I startled quite a few of the other motorists with my abrupt actions but everything seems okay and I carry on my way with nerves jangling.

I feel that it is vaguely daytime and I find myself deep in a strange jungle like area, I feel that I have travelled a considerable distance to get to the location I am in now which appears to be a large archaeological site at the end of a trail.

The site of the archaeological dig has a feeling of ancient Greece and Egypt, it is full of mystery and has a very strong aura of magic and the supernatural, I can see what appear to be three or four large stone tombs, they are almost completely covered by mossy vegetation and vines.

I note that it is not possible to see the sky from where I am because of the heavy canopy layer.

There doesn’t appear to be much activity at the site but I do notice two managers from my current place of work, a woman and young man, apparently they are both here working as archaeologists.

The ancient mossy tombs intrigue me and I go to inspect them more closely, I see that they are covered in strange engraved letters like hieroglyphs that have been cut or carved into the surface of the stone.

The unusual letters are curved in their design and I don’t recognise them or cannot understand what they mean, a thick mossy layer is growing upon the engraved characters which adds to their softness and colouring as well.

I get the desperate urge to push and slide away the heavy stone lid from one or all of the tombs, as I feel almost certain that there is some kind of special treasure (or knowledge?) that has lain inside for a very long time.

To my extreme frustration the two archaeologists (my managers) who are caring for the site tell me that I am not permitted to interfere with any of the tombs by opening them up, as irritating as I find this I feel that I must comply with their wishes.

The scene changes quite drastically and I find myself in a suburban setting at a house that I don’t recognise, in this new scene I am aware of the previous drama and am still a little frustrated by those events, at this new house I am aware that I have to replace all of the wooden windows and garage doors as they have become rotten.
