It is night time and I drive through dark remote forested countryside, my wife and brother-in-law are passengers in the rear of the car.

My car dies on me so I coast into a service station. I open the bonnet and see that the radiator coolant cap has been forced off by the pressure of the steam in the overheated and empty radiator.

There are numinous objects in the night sky one of which flutters down right beside me. The small strange object consists of a row of four two-dimensional white squares.

I am unafraid and want the UFO to take me away but my wife and brother-in-law are distraught and cry out to me not to touch the light and to get back into the car.

Additional Comments:

Thoughts: The dreams from this night almost certainly represent a psychological change or transformation I have very recently gone through, literally reaching out to touch the UFO’s indicates my desire and intention to get in touch with something that has been previously alien to me. That something is a kind of mature assertiveness and also my new found courage to say “No” when I want to in waking life rather than trying to please others even if that is against my own wishes, this may sound simple and insignificant but to me it is a very powerful discovery and the wonder of feeling empowered in such a way is perfectly mirrored in seeing the numinous UFO’s. The two squares at the end of the row of four were slightly more transparent than the two central ones which to me suggest that my understanding or enlightenment is somehow not yet complete this is possibly backed up in the warning from my wife and brother-in-law not to touch the light. The reasons for this incompleteness may be linked to the overheated radiator this symbol may suggest that emotions (the coolant or water) still need to play a part in my life if I am to create a sense of balanced compassionate assertiveness and not just hot air.

Dream 1: Numinous lights – It is night time and I travel as a passenger in a car being driven by my wife through unlit countryside. We suddenly see the bright colourful lights of a saucer shaped UFO in the sky. Then the heavens are suddenly filled with an abundance of identical UFO’s. To me the sight is beautiful and numinous but to everyone else the UFO’s represent a bad omen and they panic, everyone believes the UFO’s have come to take them away.

Dream 3: Trumpet blast – At my desk at work I watch as a fine mist descends outdoors and permeates the building. A terrifyingly loud and foreboding trumpet blast sounds out all over the country. A female work colleague to my left mourns with terrible sorrow.

My sister-in-law and a male dream friend of hers are gathered together with me in my great uncle’s bedroom.

The friend of my sister-in-law is an animator. I watch as he sits on my great uncle’s bed and creates many colourful overlapping cels as part of an animation.

As my sister-in-law and I crawl onto the bed to get a better view of the animator at work I brush my arm against her breasts and have sexual thoughts and feelings.

The animator’s completed artwork turns out not to be an animation but is a three-dimensional cardboard diorama of a miniature colourful theatre stage complete with many cardboard cut-out characters. I say to everyone that we should place the model theatre facing the bedroom window so that it receives the best of the sunlight and so that all of the cardboard figurines are able to cast shadows.

My sister-in-law and the animator think my suggestion is a great idea.

    Additional Comments:

Thoughts: At first glance this dream would seem to contradict this dream ‘Shadowless’ from the 30th January 2009. The profundity of this dream is difficult to put into words it feels like an extremely important dream full of insight, perhaps one of my most important dreams yet. In the context of the dream I suspect my great uncle may represent my Shadow and my sister-in-law my Anima. It wasn’t apparent at first but when I pondered the profession of my sister-in-law’s dream friend it clicked that she almost certainly represented my feminine side as he was an Anima-tor. This word play seems very clever as it not only suggests the instilling of life but is also made up of the words Anima and Tor. The word tor comes from the Scots Gaelic tòrr which means tower. A tor is a rocky outcrop formed by weathering it is a feature usually found on the summit of a hill, the word tor can sometimes be used for the hills themselves. The tor or tower part of anima-tor may be linked to the feminine such as in myth and fairy tales like Rapunzel where a female is held captive in a tower, the weathering and revealing of the tor may be significant in some way to my own explorations of this side. The sunlight that came through the window seemed to equate to a kind of oneness or wholeness like god as opposed to the many individual characters it was shining its light upon, the fact that it was the light that created the shadows of the characters on the stage (the characters representing ones inner facets perhaps) seems deeply profound to me and is saying something very insightful about the nature of perceived good and evil or that which is known (the light) and the unknown (the dark). On the whole this dream felt extremely positive and makes me want to further understand the relationship between the Shadow and the Anima.

Dream 1: The chapel of Scorpio – I am in my grandmother’s kitchen with my wife. My Nan and my great uncle row with me they say I don’t visit enough. They want me to stay and live with them forever but I want my independence. My Nan’s brother offers me a piece of chocolate cake the dessert sits on a plate made from a section of car tyre. I convince my wife that this whole situation is wrong. I go to leave and put on my boots which I see are muddy, this is because the snow and ice that were previously on them has melted. I go to my childhood home where in the rear garden I discover a very small ancient stone shrine. This miniature holy place is dedicated to the astrological sign Scorpio, I am aware that everyone has one of these chapels devoted to their sun sign. I go inside and sweep the floor of dust and debris where I expect to find a hidden mosaic of a Scorpion beneath.

Dream 2: Futuristic escape – In a vast white futuristic space complex I am on the run in a bid to escape. I leap with great agility and use a white laser gun to fend off my opponents. The ray gun has the choice of using two different beams, one is a broken line of white light and the other is continuous line of white light.

Dream 4: Powerful prisoners of war – I am a soldier and I am parachuting in tandem with a comrade over a jungle in South East Asia. We are shot at from the ground and our parachute becomes full of holes. As our descent becomes more rapid the friction with the atmosphere causes our parachute to ignite and incinerate making us fall from the sky. We come crashing to the ground and go on the run from our enemy. We are eventually cornered on a jungle path and killed by an enemy soldier with a machine gun. A group of prisoners of war held captive in a nearby stationary railway wagon are stirred by our deaths and awaken like zombies. The P.O.W.’s break out of their prison and make a bid for freedom. The zombie P.O.W.’s overrun the enemy such are their numbers, they use anything that comes to hand as a weapon I watch as one of the P.O.W.’s uses a camera as a weapon smashing it in the process.

I dig a lamp out from the ground as part of an archeological dig the artifact looks like the kind of oil lamp that a genie lives inside only this one is made from white marble.

The spout has broken away from the main body of the lamp but rests in situ.

I am able to pick up the fragmented spout in one piece as it is full of earth this is good as I have plans to restore the artifact.

    Additional Comments:

Thoughts: Rediscovering and repairing the lamp might represent getting back in touch with my inner guidance, hopes, inspirations, enlightenment and reassurance.
