I am traveling on a slick classy night train through some pleasant dark countryside the atmosphere on the train is very upbeat, positive and cozy.I’m residing in a large private 1st class carriage with the English music group Depeche Mode. I note a detail almost immediately which seems significant, a band member who left a few years ago has returned to be an active member of the group again.
In my dream this player was the old drummer and something of a leader or director, the fact he is back and there are now four again rather than three is extremely positive.
As the old style steam train powers through the night the band start writing new music together and rehearsing fresh material, it’s all extremely positive and I even seem to get involved at some level too. The ease with which the band comes up with new music and lyrics is echoed in the seamless silky driving power of the dynamic steam locomotive.
The new music that the band members are coming up with is very memorable but it is also neutral and safe which seems like a good progressive way of getting started in their music writing again.
I see that the effeminate songwriter is wearing a long dress over his male trousers and top, this dress looks like the sort of thing a fashionable pregnant woman might wear. The fabric is made from coarse distressed cotton in a feint khaki green color. The garment has shoulder straps like dungarees have, its chic in a combat or Matrix movie kind of way.
Later on and still at night I follow the band back to the house they are all sharing together the property just happens to be in the street I lived in in my early to mid teens, in fact the house belonged to a slightly older boy who I looked up to very much as a kid.
I relax and feel in great company with the band and they seem to let me stay with them sort of as an extra member of their band or group.
Whilst at the house I receive a phone call on my mobile telephone and I see that it is Bruce Dickinson the lead singer of the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He asks me to come into town and meet him at a pub for a drink with him and some of his friends.
I take the call just outside for some privacy and to not worry the new band I’m hanging out with. I really don’t want to go out for a drink with him (in the dream it felt as if we had been of previously good terms and often hung around together) I don’t really want his company any more though but don’t want to upset him or cause an argument. He becomes quite insistent and pushy but I manage to stand strong and tell him no once and for all that I won’t be going out with him any more as it’s not what I want.
I feel very high and good for speaking my mind after saying what I had say on the telephone, and with that I head back in to the house to be with the rest of Depeche Mode.

Interpretation: This dream was so upbeat and positive which is quite rare for a train dream for me, the fashion side in the meaning of Depeche Mode’s name probably relates to me making some changes in my way of thinking the previous day in an attempt to be more upbeat and positive rather than any reference to their waking life music, a bit like how one might change clothes or fashion to bring on a new mood or to even feel like a new person. My refusal of the evening out with the other musician represents my rejection of the ‘heavy’ feelings associated with that former way of being, the name of the heavy metal band is also the name of an old torture device which kept a victim locked up in without any room to move which is in stark contrast to the way the beautiful old train powered along effortlessly at the beginning of the dream.Dream 2: Peace and solitude – I find myself at my Nan’s house in her kitchen I have packed up my suitcase and bags and am going to moving out, it feels like a positive thing almost as if I have reached the age to venture out on my own or the time has come to be moving on. I don’t bear any ill feelings at leaving and even go so far as to make sure I buy all of my family members a gift before I leave. I feel and know that the place where I am going will make me feel relaxed and at peace.
Dream 3: Huge bank statement – I find myself stood at the dreamy pastel colored service counter of an outdoor bank (?) the atmosphere is upbeat and positive. I head over to a bank clerk for some kind of information and not a withdrawal or deposit the man asks me for my identification number, a few moments pass where I seem to forget my number but I eventually manage to recall it and give it to him (this little scene seemed to attract the attention of a man stood to my left). The clerk walks off and comes back a short while later with a massive pile of papers weighing down his arms, the huge stack of paper is apparently a bank statement showing all of the movements in and out of my dream bank account. The size of the statement isn’t at all daunting and actually seems positive as the movements aren’t only withdrawals but also represent deposits too, the idea of having so many movements in and out of the account leaves me feeling very content and satisfied.
Dream 4: The turtle dreamer – (Apparently in my dream) I made a (dream) dream interpretation for a Dream Journal member some months ago, the interpretation was for a woman roughly my age who is from India. The lady has got back in touch with me via a comment replying to my original interpretation. The woman goes on to politely say (with a surprised tone as if to excite me or make me wonder) that I got it all wrong about her dream. The lady’s dream was about turtles and apparently I gave her a definition of turtle which was less than positive. The lady tries to invigorate me with a much more upbeat view of this special creature, she paints a picture of the amazing animal (literally as I see it in interactive moving images in my dream) of a huge pastel colored turtle gentle soaring through the depths of a crystal clear tropical ocean. I’m totally convinced by what the woman said and wonder to myself how I could have been so wrong! It’s so clear now, of course turtles are such a wonderful symbol! The dream pen friend seems elated that she has managed to change my views about the turtle symbol.
