The interior of a small cabin room. It's walls are white, but the paint is peeling revealing years of passed time. A young boy is sleeping. A mother looks in to see he is well. The boy is dreaming. We change perspective to that of the boy seeing himself sleeping in his bed. A shift and he is zooming out of the cabin, above the trees and the mountain they call home.
The boy is a young man now. He is camping in the same woods. He goes through the woods. He seems to be awake, but is not. He sleep walks into a familiies mountain home. He is naked and gets into bed with at least two other people in a bed in the middle of the living room. We can see sleeping figures in the bed, as well as on the floor around it.
The family awakens to find the stranger sleeping among them. They are not alarmed but inquisitive. They go about their morning rituals without bothering to give the young man too much trouble. The oldest daughter is being introduced to the young man. First her mother retrieves her upper, then lower dentures for her daughter.
We are outside again. Running. The perspective is from that of the young man, although the gait is rather odd. We move our perpsective to that of in front and above him. We notice why the strides are so different. He is now a manimal. A wolf looking creature with hair all over.
He is running from what appears to be a second manimal. This one looking more like a lion. We get a sense that the young man, now a wolf-like manimal has killed a man. He is being hunted by the lion manimal, as if it were going to bring him to justice.
The wolf manimal reaches a rather high ledge, and leaps amazingly high enough to grasp the top of it. He pulls himself the rest of the way up and the lion manimal leaps up to catch him. From the side, a lioness womanimal leaps to intercept the lion manimal. The wolf manimal escapes to a higher part of the mountain.
The wolf manimal sees a jagged red line in the dirt ahead of him. It seperates the lower part of the mountain from the higher. As he passes across the red line, he becomes a man again.
In the distance he sees the cabin from his dreams. It was the one he remembers as a small boy.
We are in the original room from the beginning of the dream. He is still a young man. He sees the sleeping form of his younger self. Around five years old. He awakens the boy and leads him out of the room in front of him. He does this again at a second room. Each room holds another former self a couple of years older. Each room is less and less decrepit. He leads each boy, out as they progress from room to room. He sees the final door leading out of the cabin. The light streaming in is very bright.
