I was getting ready for work, and I was running late, so I ran out the door in a hurry. I walked to the end of my street and started walking across a bridge, when it started raining. The sky filled with grey clouds, and everything seemed kind of misty and blurry. I had on a thin white shirt with no coat, and I also thought I didn't have my handbag with me, so I decided to turn back. As I walked back to my house I realised I did have my handbag - I'd put it over my shoulder and across my chest, and forgotten about it.

I got home, went inside, and was shocked to find that my house was full of workmen, They had pulled the carpet up in the living room, taken parts of the wall off in the kitchen, and had generally dismantled everything. I phoned work and told them I would be late, then I phoned my landlady and started having a go at her for letting people into the house without letting me know. She shrugged it off, but I was furious. I went upstairs to the bathroom, and there was a man sitting in the bath - I think he was someone I knew through work. I sat on the edge of the bath, and we smoked cigarettes and had a chat. After a while I went back downstairs, and the workmen were still there, but this time I felt strangely calm, like I knew I should be annoyed but knew I couldn't do anything about the situation.

Additional Comments:

The part of the dream which stood out most was the scene on the bridge. It was weird, everything seemed sort of muted, and silent except for the sound of the rain. It felt really ethereal and dream-like, which isn't something I normally get in my dreams.

I had been on a night out with my friend Shell, and we were walking through town on the way home. We saw a group of guys stood nearby, and Shell went to talk to them. I was tired, so I sat down on a bench next to one of them, and we started chatting. He seemed nice, we got on well, but I wasn't interested in him in any other way. After a while we left.

The dream cut to a few days later, and Shell came to visit me saying that she'd gotten a call from one of the guys, and the guy I'd been speaking to on the bench wanted me to meet him at the same bench. I was a little confused, and a bit worried that he would think I was interested in him if I went, but I had enjoyed his company so I decided to go. I didn't have much time to get ready, so I was walking through town drying my hair. my hairdryer seemed to be plugged into a wall at the bottom of the street, and I finally ran out of cable just as I approached the bench, so I passed the hairdryer to Shell and she left to take it home. I got to the bench, and the guy was waiting for me as he had said he would. He told me he had gotten me a present, and asked me to follow him, which I did. On the way we bumped into an old friend of mine, Roxanne, who stopped to talk to me about my new haircut. She apparently knew the guy too, so she came along with us.

After walking for a while, we got to his house and went inside. He gave me a box, and when I opened it, it contained a beautiful pair of shoes. They were black leather, with 5 inch stiletto heels. They were open toed, and had a thick ankle strap. The strap and the top of the main part of the shoe were covered in metal spikes. I tried them on and they were incredibly comfortable, despite the heels. There were a couple of other people in the house, and the guy introduced me to them as his girlfriend. I didn't want to embarass him, so I took him to one side and said I was sorry if he had been led to believe otherwise, but he was not my boyfriend. He said "I bought you shoes!" - I told him that it was very kind, but I was seeing someone else. As I looked at him, I realised this was the first time I'd actually seen his face, and I noticed that he was younger than I'd thought. I knew he was younger than me, but I'd thought he was about 20 - he was clearly not even that. I asked him how old he was and he said 18. I told him I knew he was lying, and he admitted he was not 18 until May. I pointed out once again that he was not my boyfriend, and couldn't be, but he still ignored me. He went on to say that he was going to university, so I'd have to wait 3 years for him. I tried to tell him I wasn't going to be waiting, but then I realised he was leaving for university right at that very minute. I knew he wouldn't listen to me if I told him we weren't a couple, so I decided to let him think what he wanted for the next few minutes until he left, then just never speak to him again.

Licking Blood Off a Rock

This dream was really hazy and incohesive. I remember a few scenes, but they don't really make sense together.

The whole dream took place in a large two-storey building. The bottom floor seemed to be like a hotel lobby, while the top floor was like a restaurant. The top floor didn't go all the way over the bottom floor, so there was a balcony you could look over to see the main door. Leading off from the restaurant were doorways into small rooms, one of which was mine. I had been out somewhere with a man named Nigel, and we were arriving back at the building. My parents wanted me to marry Nigel, but I was not interested - he was really posh and very rich, but he was also boring and completely uninteresting. I headed to the top floor, leaving him downstairs, and went to talk to my parents. From somewhere I had found a large rock, about the size and shape of an ostrich egg. The top was broken off, and inside the rock was the consistency of honeycomb or cinder toffee - like the inside of a Crunchie bar. There was a red substance leaking out of the rock - I think it was blood. I was licking the rock - the honeycombed section fizzed on my tongue, and the blood tasted of raspberry. I couldn't stop - I knew it was gross, but it tasted so good, I was addicted. My parents were trying to talk me into going out with Nigel again, but I could see them looking down at me, thinking "how the hell are we going to marry her off - we're trying to have a conversation with her and she's just inanely licking blood off a rock...".

Later on, I went to my room which had a bed on one side, a television on the other, and a large tank of water in the middle - like a raised hot tub, it was around 6 feet tall. I was in the tank, just floating, and watching Pretty Woman on TV. There was a scene where a naked woman climbed out of a tank like the one I was in, and I was surprised at the similarity. There was a knock on the door, and I answered to see a small Asian boy - maybe 3 or 4 years old. He believed he was my brother, but he was actually my son, and I knew it was time to tell him and take responsibility. I let him in and he told me he was tired. I wanted to go to bed too, but I only had the one small bed. I told him he could share with me - I said "after all, you are my son". I laid on the bed and he came and laid with me and gave me a cuddle, then he fell asleep. He seemed to just accept the fact that I was his mother. I was torn - on the one hand I felt so much love for the child, but on the other hand I had no idea how I was going to take care of him with just this little room and no money.

The next day, I went to get a job at the local amusement park. I was in a small wooden cabin, which had a queue of about 10 people - I think it was the queue for the log flume. I bumped into a man I went to school with, and apologised. He answered, and I was surprised he had remembered my name. My son walked in and came over to me for a hug. Everyone started looking at me with real disgust, like they thought I was a terrible mother, so I just took my son and left.

Additional Comments:

This dream made me feel a bit weird - it was all a bit twisted and unreal, and so much of it should have been unpleasant, but the strongest feeling from the dream was that of love for my son. I don't actually have children, so I don't know how it feels, but it was pretty intense.
