I'd been driving for a long time, and I'd stopped at a service station because I was tired. I was going to buy some sweets because I thought the sugar might wake me up a bit. I picked the sweets I wanted and got into the queue to pay. I saw a girl i went to primary school with - Emma - standing just past the till. She was just standing dead still, staring at me, and she made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I looked away and saw her mum standing a little farther away. She had two children with her, but they were really ugly, and looked almost like trolls. As I was waiting, a woman came up to me and said I looked really tired. I told her I was, and she explained that she was the manager of the service station. I told her I had a long way to go until I got home, and she advised I stop somewhere for a rest on the way. I said that my friend Rich lived nearby, so she said she'd drive me to his house.
We arrived at his house, and the woman left. I don't know why, but she had some kind of authority which meant Rich had no choice but to let me stay. His house was tiny - he had a living room with a tiny kitchen in one corner, and a sofabed in the opposite corner. There was also a bedroom which had bunk beds, and a makeshift bed on the floor made out of cushions. When I arrived I could see Rich playing online poker in the bedroom. I wandered in with my bag, and went to put it on the floor by the cushions, but he told me to be quiet because his friend Steve was sleeping. I looked up and realised there was a man asleep on the top bunk.
Rich and I went into the living room, and we were laying on the sofabed. We started kissing, then Rich started saying something that I couldn't understand. I kept asking him to repeat it, but all I could make out was "We can't make love because (mumbled)". I thought I was mishearing him, because I couldn't work out why he was using the term "making love" instead of "having sex". I thought he must be saying something about Steve being in the next room. Eventually, he took the bottom of his tongue and pressed it against my lip, and I realised that the ball on the bottom of his tongue stud was missing, so he was worried about it falling out. I couldn't understand how that affected having sex when it didn't affect kissing. I offered him oral sex instead, and he said that was ok.

I was at work, and a large group of us had been called into a room for a demonstration of a new invention which would help us to be more productive. Two women I work with, Janice and Julie, had invented it, and it was supposed to relax you, making you more efficient for the rest of the day. The invention was basically a glass chamber with two black rectangles inside - two peopl could use it at once. The person stood on the bottom of the rectangle, with their feet held in by moulded plastic, and held onto two handles on the top of the frame - their arms were slightly above their heads. The frames then rotated forwards slowly, until the person was upside down. After a few seconds, it rotated back up the way it came, until the person was upright again. Janice used the frame on the right, and it worked perfectly. Julie was on the left, and she couldn't keep balanced in hers, she kept slipping down and Janice had to hold her up at one point.
Janice said she was going to get some of us to volunteer to try it out, and I was worried she'd pick me because I was wearing a skirt, and I knew if I was tipped upside down, everyone would see my underwear. I was picked, but I said I didn't want to try it, so a man and woman I didn't recognise were chosen. They used the machine and seemed to cope well, but afterwards they both said they felt sick. Janice had to hold up a piece of paper to hide them from the rest of us, while they vomited on the floor.
Later on, we were back in our office and it was the end of the day. i was standing with my friend Rich, and I was waiting for him to pack up because we were leaving together. As we were about to go, another colleague, Vanessa, came in. She was wearing a red velvet dress, and fishnet tights. Rich said he'd just remembered that he couldn't go home with me because he was going for a demo of the new machines with Vanessa. I was upset, and pointed out that he had just seen a demo, but he said he was going anyway. The two of them started having some kind of playfight, and it ended with Rich stepping on a loose thread on the bottom of her dress, which made her fall over. She landed on her back with her legs up, and I could tell she was deliberately doing that to show Rich her underwear. I ran across the room and pushed him back where he couldn't see her, then made out I was just trying to hug him. I thought he would shout at me, but he didn't.
A little later, I went down into the demo room to meet Rich again, and they had both finished the demo. Vanessa was now wearing jeans and a black top, and when I pointed this out she said it was more practical. I said "Oh, you mean it's not quite so easy to fall on your back with your legs open?". She went to give Rich a hug goodbye, but I pushed him out of the way again. This time I pushed him onto a sofa, and held him next to me, leaning on me. I held on tightly because I couldn't bear the thought of him getting back up and touching her.
Additional Comments:
This dream really upset me - I woke up feeling terrible and absolutely dreading bumping into her.

All I remember about this dream was one scene towards the end. I walked into a living room in someone's haouse with my mother. There was a family standing on the wall in front of us, facing the ceiling. They were about three quarters of the way up the wall, and no matter which angle we looked from, we couldn't see their faces. There was a man on the right, with long blonde hair, a woman in the middle with lots of tattoos on her arms, and a little boy was on the right. Their clothes and hair all hung normally, as though the gravity was pulling them towards the wall instead of the floor. The man started to slowly step forwards, towards the ceiling, and I was really afraid. I knew that when he reached the ceiling, he would turn and I'd see his face, and I knew I'd be terrified. I suddenly realised that I didn't just have to stand there and watch, I could just as easily turn and run, so I grabbed my mum and we both hurried away.
Additional Comments:
I can't work out whether or not the end of the dream - where I realised I could leave - was a moment
of lucidity. I never have lucid dreams, and though I didn't realise at the time that it was a dream, it
seemed like far more of a conscious decision than normal.
