I was in what looked like a bar, with my friend Callum. He was talking to me about a girl he'd met, and
that she'd just graduated from university, and that tonight was going to be a huge dance to celebrate.
he was really excited that he'd been invited as her date, and I was happy for him. He then said to me
that her friend still needed a date for the dance, and he'd told her I'd go. I was in the middle of some
big project at work, and I had to be in really early the next day, so I told him I didn't want to go. He
kept telling me that he'd already said I'd go, so I told him to tell her he was wrong. Not once did it
seem strange to me that I'd been invited as the date of a woman - it never seemed like we were being
paired up, just that I was accompanying her. Suddenly, both Callum's new girlfriend and her friend
came into the room. The friend was really happy, and I felt awful about not going to the dance with her,
but I desperately didn't want to go.
I left the bar, and seemed to be inside a university campus - lots of rooms led to lots of different
subject areas - but it was also where I worked. I worked inside a large warehouse-like area, which was
divided up by ropes into sall working areas. My area was filled with computers and printers (because I
fix computers for my job), but nearby there were people working as car mechanics, doing photography,
etc. I tried to leave the warehouse, but the corridor was blocked off, because some of the art students
were doing an exam where they had to paint murals or something on the walls, so I had to go back in.
I looked round at all the other job areas, and worried that everyone else would think my area was
boring and unskilled.
I headed towards another corridor, and ended up in a small room. I sat down and Callum came back
in. He pulled open a door, to reveal the friend was hiding there, but this time she looked different. One
of the directors from my job, Andy, came running into the room and begged me not to go to the dance
because they needed my full concentration at work, then he put his arm round me. I told Callum that I
really couldn't go, because I was needed at work, and that he should be able to see that and stop
pressuring me. Callum and the girl left, and I felt sad.

I'd left home to go to a university in another country. When I arrived, to get to my dorm, you had to walk a cross a car park area, which was covered in pebbles and mud. When I arrived, there were three other girls in my dorm, and though I'd never met them before, it was like I'd known thm for years. Two of them were just ordinary girls, and one was Christina Aguilera. We all had a chat, and got on really well.
A few days later, I'd gone down to the main university building, and was walking round the corridor. There was a man dressed all in black, with a shaved head, and I knew he was the head of the course I was taking. There was also a big group of people, the type who would have been called geeks at school, who wanted me to join their club. I was interested in the club, but I didn't think the members really liked me, so I said no. I went into the toilets, and looked around for a cubicle. The room was H shaped, with a row of normal cubicles on one side, joined by a small corridor to a group of disabled cubicles, and cubicles that were just large. I noticed a door I'd never seen before, and it had a sign on it, saying that it led to "slimline cubibles", which were really small. The sign said not to try and use them if you were going to be embarassed when you couldn't fit in. I looked through the door, and they all seemed the same as normal toilet cubicles to me. I went into one of the large cubicles, and was just about to sit down, when I noticed a round mirror on the floor. It was the type of mirror that they put up in shops, so they can see people in the aisles. The mirror was propped up at an angle, and as I looked in it, I could see a man's face, which seemed to be looking under the cubicle door. I looked around, but couldn't see anyone, then I realised that the mirror was at an angle which reflected the top of the cubicles. I looked up, and saw a man's head just ducking down from the top of the next cubicle. I ran outside the cubicle to catch him. When I got out of the cubicle, he was trying to run away, but I stood in his way. He was a middle-aged man in a Hawaian shirt. He was overweight and bald. As soon as I started questioning him, he got agressive, and grabbed my wrist. Then he threatened me, and walked out of the toilets.
I went to see my course leader immediately. We sat on a wooden bench outside, and he asked me to tell him in detail what had happened. He was really sympathetic, and reassured me totally. Later, I was stood with one of the girls from my dorm, and I saw the man again. He made some snide comment to me, then he walked of into an area with loads of people, so that I wouldn't retaliate. I stood and told my friend what had happened, then I decided I was going to yell at him anyway, regardless of how many people were there. I walked out, and everyone looked at me as I calmly told him what I thought of him. I can't remember what I said, but it ended with "Don't think you can outsmart me, because you can't", then I walked off round the corner. The course leader ran after me, and grabbed me roughly by the arm. He was saying "I think you'll find I CAN outsmart you", and I told him that I knew he could, but I was talking about the other man. The course leader got really angry with me, and I decided that I was going to leave the university. I ran back to my dorm, and started packing my bags. The girls were upset that I was leaving, and one decided to come with me. Christina Aguilera told me not to worry, because university wasn't for everyone. My friend and I got into the car, when I realised that it wouldn't run until we had a spring for it. Right on cue, a van full of springs drove up. I suddenly knew that the driver would be the man from the toilets, so I said to my friend that I had something I had to do, so she needed to stay and get the spring, then meet me later.
I walked off, and came to a jewellery stall, run by a middle aged couple. I realised that I knew them well. They'd brought me here, and we were on some kind of mission. I told them that something had gone wrong, and we were going to have to move again. The man said that he would start to pack up the jewellery, and the woman, who was called Pamela, said he had to throw it all away. She told me that I could pick a piece I wanted to keep. My friend came back at this point. I couldn't decide between two necklaces - one had a carved rose, and one had a loop of moonstone. Eventually, we picked the rose one, which was in the middle of the table. The man started scooping handfuls of jewellery into a sack. We all acted like we didn't notice, but the other customers did. The man grabbed my attention, and pointed to a green necklace, and asked me if that was the one I wanted. It wasn't, but I said yes. As he carried on scooping, I noticed a carved jade elephant on the table. I thought it was priced at £1, but Pamela told me it was £8. I asked if I could have it for £1 anyway, and she laughed, and said I could have it for free. I looked over at the man, and he was about to sweep the moonstine necklace into a bag. I stopped him, and told him that was the one I actually wanted.
The four of us left, and ended up outside a pub in England. Instead of a pavement, there was a beach outside, so we sat on the beach eating ice cream. There were lots of mothers and chidren walking round, presumably to play on the beach. Pamela noted that this was where we first all met up, and we realised that she was right. A bird made a noise from an upstairs window, and we looked up and saw a crow in a cage, which I realised belonged to Pamela. My friend said "There's just one thing, what's an Ooble Doobie?". The scene cut to a bunch of Oompa Loompas (from the first film, not the remake), trying to lug a huge chest through a muddy forest. I knew that we'd seen them on our trip, but we'd been given something that would make us forget about them.
Additional Comments:
Although this dream wasn't recurring, the scene with the man driving the van seemed very familiar. This dream was like watching a film, it was great fun!
