I was driving in my car with my supervisor, Martin. His phone rang as we were waiting at a junction. He answered it as I pulled out onto the road, but the radio was too loud for him to hear properly. I pressed the mute button on my steering wheel. At the same moment, he pressed a button on the dashboard. I'd never seen the button before, but I knew it wasn't the mute button. I stalled the car as all this was happening, and it stopped across the road, blocking both lanes. I tried the key, but the car wouldn't start. I tried to take the key out and put it back in, but it wouldn't come out of the ignition. I realised that the button Martin had pressed had made the car stop, but I didn't know how to fix it.

Additional Comments:

There was a lot more to this dream, that happened before this part, but I was in a rush this morning, and forgot to write it down, so this is all I remembered.

Surely My Car Should Be Heavier Than That?

I was driving my car with my friend, Michelle, round a housing estate. Walking along the pavement next to us was a girl we work with, Leanne. She was carrying a football, which she suddenly threw across the road in front of the car. I swerved to avoid it, and my car slid onto someone's lawn. It was side on, next to a high step, and I couldn't get the car out. We got out of the car, and rang the doorbell. A boy, about 13, opened the door, and we told him what had happened. He didn't care, but he agreed to fetch his dad for us. His dad didn't care either, and refused to help us. We looked up, onto the step, and saw my friend, Mattie, and another guy who I think was his friend. I called them over to help, and Mattie leant down over the step and lifted my car up so I could drive it away. Michelle asked to drive, and I let her, even though she hasn't passed her test, or even started learning yet. We were driving down a desert road, and it was really twisty.

I got home and logged onto this website. I looked at a list of previous Dreams of the Day, and noticed that one of my dreams had been selected the previous day. I started to read it and recognised it, but after the first few lines, it wasn't familiar anymore. As i started to read the dream,I was suddenly living it. I was dressed in weird futuristic clothes, like you'd see on a kids' sci-fi film, and I was with a boy and a girl, both about 16. We were stood in a desert, when we were suddenly picked up and carried away by a big rock creature. It was like a big brown boulder, with a face and arms, and it could fly really fast. Just as we were trying to work out how to escape, it swooped down and dropped us. The three of us decided to stand really still, because we were waiting for something specific (can't remember what) to pass us, so we could ambush it. After a while, the girl said that she didn't think it was coming. The boy agreed and said we weren't even sure it came this way at all, so we gave up on our plan.

    Additional Comments:

The clothes we were wearing in the second half of the dream looked like something out of Spy Kids, or that new Robert Rodriguez film which is similar - neither of which I've seen. The rock creature looked like a mutant kiko, if you've played Neopets, or a smooth geodude, if you've played Pokemon.
