It was New Year's Eve, and a group of my friends and I had gone out into town for the evening. The
people I can remember being there were my friends Callum, Lisa, Kelly, Dan, and Shell. Normally in
this group I'd be chatting to Shell, but for some reason we weren't really speaking. We went to one
club, and it was really boring. We were all sitting on sofas, and there was hardly anybody else there.
After a while, we decided to go to Life - a club in town.
We queued for ages, and when we eventually got in and paid, we walked over to the desk where you
can check in your coats. I was leaning against the desk waiting because I didn't have a coat, and I was
chatting to Dan. I suddenly realised that my friend Sam had arrived, and she and all of the others were
staring at us. I realised that Dan had his hands on my waist, then he just started kissing me. I was
really shocked, but I kissed him back and all our friends started whistling and joking.
After a while, we went into the main part of the club, and we realised that it was now past midnight, and
we'd missed the countdown. People were starting to leave the club, so it was getting empty. We saw
some seats free over at one side, so we went and sat down. I realised that this was the same seating
area we'd started in, and everyone was sitting in the same places.
Additional Comments:
Ok, this is one of those extremely unlikely pairings that wouldn't happen in real life - I hate when this
happens!!

I'd gone to an ice rink, and it was really busy, like a night club. There was some kind of ice dancing
display that was being performed, and I was supposed to be in it. I was dressed in a white dress, and I
saw a lady from work, Alison, dressed in a matching white suit. She said she was my partner and it was
our turn to dance, so we went out onto the ice. I knew we hadn't practiced, and that I couldn't skate,
but for some reason the performance went perfectly, and we were really pleased.
After the dance I went to talk to my friend Shell, who was watching from the side. The side was full of
people drinking and dancing, so it took me a while to find her. When I reached her, she looked really
worried, and said that we were late and we'd missed our lift home. A girl I knew from school, Cassie,
was passing by and she said she was the manager of the ice rink, and as we'd missed our lift because
the performance ran late, she would pay for a taxi for us.
I told Shell to wait where she was while I went with Cassie to organise the taxi. She gave me a little
card with the ice rink's name on it which she said I could use to pay for the taxi, and she started to
phone the taxi rank. While she was waiting for the taxi place she saw a group of chav girls who were all
laying on the floor, and nobody could get past them, so she yelled at them to get up and they did.
I went back to find Shell and she said she had to leave right now, so we walked out. She still looked
upset but I didn't know what was wrong with her. We got outside and got to the taxi, and I saw my
friend Kerrie. I wanted to talk to her but Shell wanted to leave, so she got into the taxi by herself and
left. I went back to a club with Kerrie, but she said she wanted to leave too and asked me to call a taxi.
I went outside to call the taxi, because I couldn't get a signal inside the club, then I went back to find
Kerrie. The bouncers wouldn't let me back inside the club because it was past last entry, and when I
tried to call her I couldn't get through. I knew she'd come out eventually because she knew I was
waiting for her, so I waited by the door. There was a bench nearby full of people. I thought I saw my
friend Tony, so I went over to say hi. As I approached I realised it wasn't actually Tony, and as I got
nearer, he started vomiting on the pavement. I was afraid, so I turned away, and saw that Tony was
actually sitting a few metres away on a different bench.

I was in town, and I went into McDonalds to meet my friends, because most of them work there. The
store had moved since I worked there - they'd bought a bigger store elsewhere in town, and it was the
first time I'd been in there. I was really thirsty, and one of the managers, my friend Michelle, kept
giving me free drinks. We were all due to go out when the store closed, but they couldn't leave until the
place was cleaned up. I wanted to go out asap, so I stayed and helped them clean. The new staff who
didn't work there when I did couldn't work out who I was, and didn't know why I was in there cleaning
while the store was closed.
When it finally got cleaned up, we all went drinking in a new club that had opened where the old
McDonalds store had been. I was really drunk, and was drinking a strange cocktail that came in an odd
shaped glass. Two girls I didn't know came up to me and said they were friends of my friend from
work, Rich, and that he was outside and wanted to talk to me. I followed them outside, but couldn't see
Rich. They led me across the road to another club, and made me wait outside while they went in.
A couple of minutes later, they came out, and were dragging Rich behind them. He was wearing a big
afro wig, and didn't know what was going on. They led him over to me, took our drinks away from us,
and pushed us towards each other then stepped back. I gave him a hug and his wig fell off, then
because we were both drunk, we fell over in a heap. Our legs got tangled, and when we got sorted, we
couldn't get up because we were laughing, so we shuffled out of the way and sat in a little alcove in the
wall nearby. Rich had his back against the wall of it, and I was sitting sideways with my legs across his.
I suddenly realised that I wasn't wearing any underwear, and that people passing by might be able to
see up my skirt because of the way I was sitting, so I had to move. I also realised I didn't have my
drink, and I was thirsty, so I called to the girls and asked if I could have my drink. One of them brought
me a drink over, but it wasn't mine, because mine was nearly empty and this one was full. She passed
it to me then said they'd leave us to it, and they left. Rich and I were still laughing, then he said "Do
you think they're trying to set us up?", and I said "Whetever gives you that idea?!". We sat for a few
minutes, but then Rich said he felt ill. I asked him if he wanted to go for a walk, and maybe the fresh
air would help, and told him we'd find a toilet for him if he thought he was going to be sick.
We started walking, and headed towards the toilets in the town centre, but we realised they were
closed. Rich said there was a club he knew of, and that we could use the toilets in there, so he started
leading us there. We got to an area I didn't recognise, and on top of a really steep hill, I could see a
huge building with lots of storeys. Rich said this was the club, and each floor was a different themed
place. I asked him why I'd never been there, and he said you had to be a member. We started to climb
up the hill, and got almost to the top, but the grass was wet and we both slipped on it and fell over.
Again, we couldn't get up for ages because we were laughing so hard.
Eventualy, we got up and got to the club, then we went up to the fourth floor. Rich showed me where
the ladies room was, and said he'd meet me by the door when we'd both finished in the toilet. I went in
through the door to the ladies' room, and ended up in a long room, with three huge cubicles down the
right side, and shower stalls on the left. I looked inside the first cubicle, and saw that there was a
mechanism attached to the toilet, and when you flushed it, two white tablets came down a chute in front
of you. For some reason, I couldn't use that toilet, so I came out again. I walked down the other end of
the room, when suddenly a gang of girls leant in the door and said I didn't belong there, then they
turned off the lights and tried to lock me in. I ran back to the door in the dark, and managed to get it
open and get the lights back on, but the girls came in.
I tried to ignore them and carry on looking for a toilet to use, but I knew they'd never let me use them.
I noticed that each toilet had the same mechanism as the first, but instead of pills, they dispensed two
tiny wooden carvings of animals. I heard a flushing noise coming from the shower stalls, and a girl
came out of them and left. I looked inside and saw there was a fourth toilet which the gang of girls
didn't know about, so I crept inside and used this toilet. When I flushed it, I got four wooden carvings
instead of two, but I had to reach into the toilet bowl to get them. When I came out of the cubicle, there
was a bouncer in the toilets saying the club was closing and we had to leave. He wouldn't let me wash
my hands, just ushered me out.
I met up with Rich outside, and we left the club. By this time, it was day again, and when we left I
realised that we weren't in my town any more, we were in a holiday town. We were right near a road,
and the traffic on it was at a standstill. I realised that we had to take that route home, and we'd be
stuck for ages, but Rich told me not to worry because we'd go shopping and just leave later. He kept
giving me hugs while we watched the traffic, and eventually, I felt better.
We went into the town centre, and saw a theatre which was putting on a show which was a compilation
of short musical stories. Rich told me he was acting in it, and was playing the main character. I didn't
believe him and asked him to prove it, so he started dancing with me and singing in the middle of the
street. At the end of the dance, he had to lean me backwards, and I was surprised to find out that I was
really flexible, and could bend really far backwards without hurting myself. A man came out of the
theatre and told Rich they had an emergency, and he had to work. Rich apologised to me, and said he
had to leave, but he gave me two tickets for a tour of the theatre, and said they were highly sought
after, then he gave me a hug and left.
My friend Phil just happened to be walking by, so I asked him if he wanted my other ticket. He said yes,
and we went inside for the tour. In the first part, we watched the actors preparing, including Rich. I was
sitting on the floor, when I looked at my legs and saw that I hadn't shaved them in what looked like
weeks! I was mortified, and the skirt was knee-length, so I knew everyone would see. I tried to curl
them under me while we were sitting, and Phil asked me what I was doing, so I showed him and he
laughed.
For the second part of the tour, we went to the sound studio area, where my friend Shaun was working.
The staff worked in a big room in the centre of a bigger room, and the visitors all stood at the open
windows which circled the room. Shaun gave a talk about how everything worked, then he asked if
anyone had any questions. Nobody had anything to ask and he got really angry. He said "Look, this is
just not going to work, I can't stand here cursing at you all day, com back for the second part
tomorrow". An old woman next to me complained that meant they'd have to buy another ticket, and
Saun said that was right. She kept yelling at him, but he ignored her and came to chat to me and Phil.
He had a booklet of postcards, and he kept ripping them out and giving to me while we chatted. the
other customers were getting stroppy, but we didn't care. Eventually, Shaun told us we had to go back,
so we left.
When we got outside, it was dark again, and we were back in my home town. We went back to the club
we were at originally, and everyone was still there dancing. The club was about to close, so Phil went to
find his car keys and said he'd drive me home. My friend Heidi was there, and she said she didn't
realise I was there that night. I lied, and told her I'd been there the whole time. Phil found his keys, and
we left.
Additional Comments:
I think the section with Rich's friends trying to set us up somes from the fact that some people at work
seem to think we're a couple when we're not. Shaun was there because we saw his band play last
night, and Phil was probably there because I was talking to him a lot yesterday.
