Strange Wedding

I was in a car with my parents, my ex-boyfriend Gareth, and a Japanese girl called Kari. We were driving to a little hall in the middle of nowhere to go to my cousin Nicky's wedding. When we got there, we all sat in the hall, with the rest of my family. In one corner of the hall was a glass booth, where the ceremony was actually going to take place - we had to watch it through the glass, then they would come out and we could congratulate them. Nicky was waiting in the booth in a pink wedding dress. When the groom came in, it was actually a woman. I recognised her, but I didn't know where from. She was quite a big woman, and she had really short spiky hair. She was wearing a pink tuxedo, but she was having trouble with the bowtie, so she had to get Nicky to help her. As she was doing up the tie, Nicky said "Do you like my dress? They adapted it from my last wedding dress.". They had the ceremony in the booth, and I couldn't see very well from where I was sitting. When they came out, the vicar said "You may now kiss the bride", and they kissed. Then Nicky started licking the side of the "groom"'s face, and her mother told her not to do that in front of the vicar. We all sat down for the reception and the meal, and I was chatting to Gareth. We were trying to decide where to go after the wedding, and he was suggesting people we could meet up with. He suggested my friend Karen (see notes underneath), and I said I didn't see her anymore. He told me he still saw her quite often, and I got angry with him and told him to leave her alone because she's a slut. I was really annoyed, so I got up and walked away. I went to the toilets, and when i came out, everyone had gone except for Kari, who was wandering around aimlessly. I was only about 4 metres away from her, and was calling her name, but she couldn't seem to see or hear me. I decided to go back into the toilets, and when I came out she'd be able to hear me again. I went into one of the cubicles, and I could hear someone in the cubicle next to me. I was scared, because I knew Kari and I were the only people there, and it wasn't Kari.
I ran back outside, and Kari was completely gone. I noticed a door in the back of the hall which I hadn't seen before, so I walked through. I found myself in a school sports hall, with bleachers up the sides. At the opposite end of the room was a bench, where a row of boys were being spoken to by what i assumed to be a teacher. I walked over to them. I knew that Kari was gone, but the boy nearest me was supposed to be with us too, so I grabbed his shoulder and dragged him out of the hall, while his teacher was protesting that he needed to practice with them because they were putting on a school play.
I dragged the boy to the car and pushed him inside, where his family was waiting for him. Then I left, and the rest of the dream carried on following the family. The boy was being looked after by his mother and his grandfather, and they had to try and hide him from his father, who was dangerous. They drove him for ages through the desert, until they eventually had to pull over at a smal diner, because they were all hungry. As they got inside, the grandfather saw the father's car pull up outside. The mother took the boy to hide, but there was only room for the two of them, so the grandfather had to find somewhere else. He ran into a room which seemed to be an all-purpose temple, with facilities for all different religions. He threw his coat on the floor, knelt on in, and pretended to be praying towards Mecca. The father came in, and left, so the grandfather thought the disguise had worked.
A few minutes later, the father came back in and said "Do you honestly think I wouldn't recognise you if you kneel down and cover your head? You're my father for fucks sake". The grandfather stood up and started yelling, saying he only wanted to protect his grandson, and that he never got the chance to be a good father, but he was going to be a good grandfather if it killed him. At this point, the son and mother came in, and the son said "Grandad, you tried your best to be a good father to my dad, but you lived in Cornwall, what could you do?", then he held up a world map and pointed to a huge country which had appeared above Greenland. He said that was Cornwall, and it was owned by 10 different countries, so it was war-torn.
Additional Comments:
Okay, Karen was someone I met at college, and we became friends because we were in a maths class together, and didn't know anyone else. While I got on with her in class, I didn't really socialise with her outside of college. She had a reputation for being a complete slut (which, to be fair, was a deserved reputation), and I got stressed with her one time because she was trying to flirt with Gareth (when we were a couple). When I told him, he apologised and said he didn't realise she made me uncomfortable, and wouldn't make an effort to talk to her any more.Cornwall is a county at the South-East of England - it's not a foreign country! Also, the dream seemed to take place in an American desert-like area, which is starnge because I live in England and have never been to America.
I think Kari was supposed to be Kaorin from Azumanga, and the boy's father looked a lot like The Rock.
