Shopping Trolley

I'd just finished work, and I had to go to the supermarket to buy food. I had three large carrier bags full of shopping, and I was struggling with them, so I put them into a shopping trolley and decided to push the shopping home in the trolley. The journey seemed to take ages, and I saw lots of people walking on the other side of the road. At one part of the journey, the road sloped steeply upwards, and I was having great difficulty pushing the trolley up it, because it was really heavy. At the top of the hill, the road went into a forest, and the pavement disappeared. I carried on walking through the woods with my trolley, until I came to the end of the path. The path just stopped, and there was a drop of about 8 feet down to a river. There were lots of people standing round, and two people were swimming in the river. After standing round for a while, I decided I'd climb over the drop onto a small strip of land before the river, and walk round the ledge to firmer ground and walk home. I started to take my shopping bags out of the trolley, and to my surprise they were really light. A man next to me offered to help me. He was foreign, and said he was visiting the area and didn't know anyone. I chatted to him, and he was really friendly. He told me that he'd come to the woods to see the king, and told me that the two men swimming in the river were the king and his attendant, and that's why there were so many people in the woods. He helped me with the bags, and we both climbed down the ledge and walked into town.

In town, the man told me he wanted to buy some sweets, and that he'd buy me some too. We went into a sweet shop, and started looking round. He picked lots of sweets, but for some reason we decided that we didn't want to shop there, and we left. We went to Woolworths instead, and he started picking sweets again. He picked up a giant lollypop, about the size of a football, and lots of little sweets, like little bags of sherbet and penny chews. I was still holding the shopping bags, and he was holding my handbag for me because i couldn't carry everything. He put the giant lolly in my bag to help us carry it. He had armfuls of the smaller sweets, when suddenly, something made him drop them all. Most of them fell on the floor, but I knew that some had fallen into my handbag, and I was really worried that we'd not be able to find them all, and would get into trouble for shoplifting.

    London Hotel

I used to work at McDonalds, both in real life and in the dream, and as the dream started, I'd gone back to the restaurant because my ex-manager had phoned me. She told me that a year ago, I'd promised to go on a business trip to London on this date. She told me that nobody else wanted to go, but they really needed a representative, and as I'd worked there for so long, I could still do the job. She told me that they would pay for me to get the train to London, to stay in a hotel for two nights, while the business conference was on, then get the train back home again, but if I wanted to do it, I had to leave right away.

I was really excited about going, so I agreed. I was particularly excited about getting to stay in a posh hotel, and about going on the London Underground. I remembered that I'd packed my bags a year ago, when I first heard about the trip, so I had someone bring them to me. There were two large shouder bags, and I remembered that I'd been told to take some things to do, because there would be no entertainment in the evenings. I decided to look through the bags, and check that everything was there. The only things I remember seeing were a huge bag of chocolate coins, and a colouring book.

I had to get someone to help me get the bags on my shoulders, then I started to leave.

The dream ended around this point, and though I never actually made it to London, I kept getting these two distinct images: one of me stood at the entrance to the hotel, and one of me stood on a platform on the underground.

    Additional Comments:

While I do like London, I don't find the Underground particularly exciting - it's just crowded and unpleasant, so i don't know why I'd be looking forward to that.

The hotel I was going to is a real hotel in Leicester Square. I recognised it, because last time I was in London, a couple of weeks ago, we sat outside the hotel for a while, and I was looking at the door.

Also, the location of the restaurant was not where it really is. In reality, I live right near a train station, where you can get a direct train to London, and the restaurant was about the same distance from the station as my house is.
