I was at a party in a large, glass-fronted building. I think it was a Christmas party. Everything in the room seemed tinged a navy blue colour. I was standing by the window looking at a tree in the garden, when my ex, Rich, approached me. He told me he had to tell me something, and said that he'd done or said something horrible to his new girlfriend, and as a result she had left him. I can't remember what he had done to her, but I knew it was something he'd done to me on numerous occasions and I had just put up with it. He said he knew she was justified in leaving him, and it had made him realise just how much he had put me through, and he said he was amazed that I'd stuck by him through it all. He apologised and said that now he realised how nasty he'd been, he wanted to work on changing and asked if I'd take him back. I had promised myself I never would, but when confronted with it I ended up agreeing instantly.
As soon as I'd agreed, he suddenly seemed to get bored of me and wandered off into the crowd. I followed him and kept trying to chat to him or hold his hand, but he kept pulling away and trying to avoid me. Eventually we made a full circle and ended up back at the window. I could sense something was wrong, and I said something like "Remember when you did this (can't remember the actual event)? It's a good job you've changed!". He looked at me and shook his head to say he hadn't changed, then he just looked at me with a sad expression. I said "You don't really want to be with me, do you?", and he shook his head. I instantly crumbled - despite the fact that we'd only been back together for about 15 minutes, the rejection hit me just as hard as it had done when the previous 4 year relationship had ended. I was furious, and I started screaming at him "I can't believe you did this too me again!". After yelling for a few minutes, he told me he could explain, so we went to sit on a long sofa nearby. A pretty Indian girl came and sat next to me to listen to the story too - I think she was a friend of Rich's from real life.
Rich started telling a story which reminded me of a video game - it involved a woman who was on the run from a group of corrupt priests, who kept hiding in sewage pipes and throwing mini grenades at the priests. The woman ended up in some snake infested sewers, and I knew this was the key point in the story - I was about to discover exactly why Rich haddone everything he'd done, why he'd done it a second time, etc. Just as he was about to tell me, the Indian girl interrupted and started asking him questions about the story, which he answered. I was hugely frustrated and yelled at her to shut up, and him to carry on. He tried to finish telling the story, but she kept talking over him and I never heard his explanation.
Rich left, and I got called into another room to see his parents, who turned out to be the parents of another friend of mine in real life. They gave me a pile of presents, telling me they were a backlog from Christmas. One was a ceramic box in the shape of a piece of birthday cake, which had red LEDs on it, another was a pair of decorative buttons with weird face on them. They started moaning that they never saw me any more, and seemed to blame me for that fact. I desperately wanted to shout "Well why don't you ask your son why that is?!", but instead I just gave up and left.
Additional Comments:
I don't think that this dream has anything to do with me wanting to get back together with him - I certainly have no desire to do that. The focus seemed to be on the fact that I'd listened to him, and he'd ended up hurting me AGAIN, rather than just the fact that he'd hurt me. I think the dream is probably representative of the fear that if I start a new relationship with anyone, there's a possibility I'll end up getting just as hurt again.

I have forgotten the beginning of this dream, but it was connected in some way to a prison - I was a convict, and the prison looked more like the back room of a supermarket. I think I was a serial killer, and people were afraid of me, but there was a male prisoner there who I was in love with, and was trying to find.
The first part I recall vividly, I was entering an enormous stately home with a couple of friends - one man and one woman. The house was really enormous, and I knew I had been there before many years ago. We first entered an entrance hall, which was about the size of a football field. It had a huge high ceiling, and paintings hanging on the grey stone walls. There was only one other door, directly opposite us, so we headed through there to end up in the back garden. The garden was just a concrete yard, and seemed to be raised up, as though it were outside the top storey of the house, despite the fact that we had stayed on the ground floor. It was really shadowy, because the sun was on the other side of the house. The house looked like a normal Victorian terraced house from out here - it had neighbours on both sides with identical gardens, though they were both on different levels, as though the street was built on a hill. Looking into the neighbours yards, I suddenly felt a deep terror, as though I knew something supernatural and evil had happened here, so we went back inside the house. I remembered that in order to get to another room, we had to solve a puzzle connected to all the paintings. It was sort of like a treasure hunt - one painting would give you a clue which led you to another painting, and so on until you had solved the puzzle.
We managed to figure it out, and a door opened underneath a fireplace on the right hand wall, but for some reason I had to go outside before I could go through, so I told me friends to go ahead. I left the house and went home (back to my parents' house, rather than my own). There was a beautiful black silk dress hanging on the front of my wardrobe, but I didn't put it on. When I left to head back to the stately home, I bumped into Selena Gomez. In the dream I had known her for a long time, but we really didn't get on - I think she was the daughter of one of my friends or something. I knew I had to take her with me, so we walked together. When I arrived back at the house, the outside had changed. Instead of a Victorian stately home, it now looked like a 1920s style theatre, or cinema - very art deco style, and lit with blue lights. It was in the middle of a crowded street. When we went inside, we ended up back in the same enormous entrance hall, but the style had also changed. Floor, ceiling, and walls were now a dark turquoise, and coated in an extremely smooth material - similar to laminate flooring, but without any seams. There were white lights dotted around the walls, which still had paintings and the fireplace on them. In the centre of the room was a small glowing spot, which I knew was like a meeting place for us - after solving every puzzle, we had to return to this spot. We had to re-do the painting puzzle, but I already knew the answers, so it didn't take long. We then returned to the meeting spot, which "refreshed" the room, and prompted a new puzzle. We solved maybe 5 puzzles, then we got stuck and couldn't figure out what to do next.
We eventually managed to find a clue which told us to go outside the building. When we did, I looked up and the front of the building and noticed that what I had taken to be a pattern on the front of the building was actually a series of lights. It was a pyramid made up of vertical rectangles. there were 4 rectangles in a row, then three on top of them, then two on the next row. I assumed there was something topping off the pyramid, but I couldn't see it - it was too dark. Each rectangle was split vertically with a line, and there was a blue light on each side of the line, which lit up half of the rectangle. The first 2 rectangles on the bottom layer were completely lit up, and half of the thirs was. It occurred to me that each half of a rectangle represented a puzzle. We would have to solve 8 puzzles on the first layer, in the big blue room. When we had solved these, a second room would open up and we would be able to start solving puzzles in there, until we had solved six and lit up the second layer - and so on until the pyramid was complete. We had three more puzzles to solve in this room, but we were still stuck.
For some reason, I thought that maybe I should go and put on the black dress from home - I had no idea where it had come from, so I thought it might be connected. We went to my house and I put it on. It was beautiful, made from thick black silk. It was strapless, with a fitted waist, then had an A-line skirt with netting under it, which touched the floor. On the back of the skirt was a large pleat which had a sort of train hanging out, which trailed on the floor. There was a small row of diamond flowers across the top of the dress. It was a little to big around the top, but the rest fit perfectly. We went back to the blue room, and found a new puzzle had appeared - it looked like it had been influenced by the dress after all. We were halfway through the puzzle, when Selena did something to the light in the centre of the room, and it seemed to reset the room back to how it had been when we first entered - paintings and the original puzzle. I ran outside, and all the lights had gone out, and I knew we had to start all over again. I was really angry, and started yelling at her, but she didn't seem bothered. She said that the light acted like the save point in a game, and we could reload our game. She did something else to the light which brought up a screen of various images and titles of puzzles. I knew right away that ours was not there, but she insisted that one called Pellymeaz was ours, and started to load it up. I suddenly realised that I had been through this entire process once before, and that Pellymeaz was a puzzle from the third room, involving little tiny creatures which people referred to as "bellybuttons", because they looked like just that. When she loaded the level, three of these bellybuttons appeared - one red, one blue, one yellow. They moved by jumping, and the object of the puzzle was to guide them through a maze of shallow water tunnels. There were dozens of other people doing this task too. Selena took one bellybutton, and two other people took the others, and they strated flicking them through the water maze, like they were playing tiddlywinks. Selena started singing Pellymeaz over and over again to the tune of "Let It Be", and the two others joined in. The other contestants in the room found it hilarious for some reason, and soon the whole room was laughing.

This dream is really hard to describe. I had moved to a new area with my parents, a sister, and a male friend. It was somewhere in the North of England, andmost of the area was made up of moors and bleak open areas - it reminded me of Wuthering Heights. There was a big building in the centre of one of the moors - in real life it's my office building, but in the dream it was like a meeting place for everyone because we all lived so far away from each other. I was in this building on the top floor, and I was looking out of the window. A storm had started outside - the sky was black and there was lightning and thunder, and strong winds. Out the window I could see one tree, which was bending almost to the ground when the wind hit it. The rest of the moor seemed to have turned into a thick liquid - it looked like blood, but I convinced myself it was just the wet ground, and the colour of the sky was distorting it. I remembered hearing a legend about the area - a hundred or so years before there had been a group of people who belonged to some kind of offshoot of Christianity. They were incredibly religious, and tried to do good all the time, but one particular woman had been accused of conversing with the devil, and it had caused the moor to be flooded with blood. The rest of the people had all been drowned, while the woman was dragged down to hell.
I had never believed this legend, but now that I had seen how the moor looked, I started getting scared. I started to run down the stairs towards the ground floor, all the way trying to convince myself it was just a story. A couple of floors from the bottom I bumped into an elderly Irish man. I was slightly hysterical by this point, and I asked him if he'd seen the moor. He started talking about the legend and the woman as though he'd known her personally, then he grabbed me by the shoulders and started shouting "It wasn't her fault, you need to understand that it wasn't her fault!". I broke free and ran for the next flight of stairs, as he continued to shout after me, but as I stepped onto the top step I saw that the blood from the moor had broken through the doors of the building and had flooded the ground floor, and was now making its way up the stairs. It had a really thick slippery consistancy. I slipped on it on the top step, then fell on my backside and slid all the way down the stairs, and landed on the landing below, sitting waist deep in the blood.
The dream cut and I was now trapped with my family and friend inside what seemed to be some kind of human farm. We were chained in rows, along with hundreds of other people, and there were troughs of food in front of us. My family were on the end of the row - my parents were at the very end, and I was next to them. There was a door next to my parents which led out onto the moor - still soaked in blood. Directly in front of the door were about 10 objects hanging from hooks. They looked like large eggs - like ostrich eggs - and were covered by what looked like pink seaweed. There was a young man working in the building - he was wearing a hazmat suit and kept looking at me like he wanted to help me - I had a feeling that we knew each other from somewhere. He kept going to the eggs and shaking out the seaweed. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that sometimes parasites got in the seaweed, and he had to protect the eggs, and also sometimes the eggs released a stream of smaller eggs, which needed to be able to flow straight out into the moor - hence why the eggs were opposite the door. I was about to ask him what was happening to us, when I was distracted by my sister somehow managing to get her ipod headphones tangled in the food trough. For some reason, I found this hilarious, and so did the young man. We were both laughing, but when I looked at him, he was looking at me full of sadness, and I realised for certain that I was going to die.
