My parents and I were all living in New York, though we lived in different houses. I had gone to meet some friends at a restaurant, and we were sitting upstairs waiting for our food. I can't remember what happened, but for some reason we ended up running away from the restaurant, being chased by the chef, who was trying to kill us. As we ran, we managed to lose him, then we bumped into Adam Lamberg, who was also a friend of ours. He asked if one of us would help him look for his dad, as he hadn't been able to get in touch with him for ages. I agreed to help, and we left together.

He took me to Brooklyn, which is where his father lived. He lived in one of a row of weird houses, which seemed to be set into the edge of a cliff. To get into them, you had to climb down a staircase which was so steep that the only safe way to do it was to go backwards, like you were on a ladder. Once down the stairs, you ended up in the living room, which was jutting out of the cliff, and was made from glass, so all the houses could see each other. The rest of the rooms were concealed within the cliff, which you got to by walking behind the staircase. Adam went down the stairs, backwards, and started to call out to his dad. He got no reply, but then he noticed a reflection of the room he was in, in the glass wall of a neighbouring house. The reflection showed him, and directly behind him was the corpse of his father, sitting at a computer table - he had not looked behind him after climbing down the stairs. The corpse looked partially mumified - it had browning skin, stretched over the bones, and seemed like it had been there for ages. On the desk was a photograph of the room, with the dead body sitting at the desk. I realised that someone must have been in the house recently and taken the photo, but I didn't say anything to Adam because I thought it would scare him. Just then, a black cat walked into the room, and Adam immediately ran to it and started hugging it. He realised that nobody would have fed the cat in ages, and this seemed to upset him more than the death of his father, so he ran to the kitchen to feed it.

We eventually left, and Adam asked me to move into his father's house with him and another friend. I didn't want to, but I could see he really needed support, so I agreed. I left and went to meet my parents - I found them walking down the street and we went to talk inside a small metal room leading off from the street. I told them I was moving to Brooklyn, and they were really excited. I realised that I had a house I was erfectly happy in, and I didn't want to move, or to share with anyone, but I also realised that if I didn't move, eventually the angry chef would find me and I'd be killed. I knew I had no choice, and I was really sad.

Additional Comments:

The whole dream had a futuristic, almost steam-punk style to it. Everything was metal or glass, and everything was really compact, like it was trying to combat overcrowding. In reality I've never been to New York, Brooklyn, or even America, so no idea where those themes came from.

I had been on a night out with my friend Shell, and we'd stayed at a friends house. We were walking home through a forest when Shell said that she remembered a man giving her oral sex while she was drunk, but she couldn't remember who he was. She kept on talking about this, and I wasn't sure whether to believe her. Eventually, we started walking on a path shaped like a spiral. It eventually came to a dead end, and I knew this meant she had been lying.

I went home, and my family owned a restaurant. Gordon Ramsey was there because he'd featured our restaurant on a programme where he helped turn around failing restaurants. When I arrived, he was cutting up raw chicken in the sink. he asked me something about whether he'd fulfilled my fantasy. I knew he was talking about the restaurant, but it sounded rude, so I laughed. He didn't think it was funny and looked at me like I was an idiot.

He started talking to camera, and they started showing clips from next week'd show, but for some reason I was in the clips. The restaurant in the next show was owned by a couple, and they were in the middle of a crowd of people. The man was normal, but the woman had something wrong with her, which meant she was just a pile of slimy looking skin with a face. She looked like a puddle of raw chicken, about the size of someone's head, with a face on one side. Next to her was a pram, and inside was a baby which was in the same state. Shell was back with me, and I whispered to her that if I'd had the same disorder as the woman, I probably wouldn't have had children. Gordon Ramsey started talking - the scene was obviously from the end of the next week's episode - and he said "everyone, put up your hands if you just fell in love with this wonderful baby!". Everyone put up their hands except me and Shell, and Gordon looked at us and demanded to know why we didn't think the baby was great. I pointed out that this was all happening in the future, so I'd not even seen the baby before now.

This dream has been viewed 5243 times.

My ex-boyfriend, Gareth, and I were taking part in one of those life-swap style television shows. We'd been sent to stay with a family, who we'd been with for about a week. The family consisted of a mother, a father, an older sister (about 20), a brother (about 17), and a younger sister (about 8). We got up one morning, and the father told us he was taking us on a two day trip, to see some places which had been important to him in his youth. He showed us a map with the route highlighted. The first stop was only about an hour away, but after that we had a few hours drive before the place we would be staying for the night, and it was a similr plan for the second day. I was worried, because I knew I'd need the toilet on a trip like that (a side effect of my Tourette's means that I need the loo more than most people), and I knew it would be embarassing, because this was a family I didn't know well, and who weren't familiar with my condition.

As I was worrying about this, my friends Matt and Lisa arrived - they were coming with us on the trip too. There were two cars for the trip. I was going to sit in the back of the largest one, with Fareth and the brother. The father and older sister would sit in the front. Lisa and Matt would be in the back of the second, smaller car, with the mother and the younger sister sitting in the front. They told everyone to get into the car, and I said I hadn't realised we were leaving right away, and that they should give me a minute because I needed the toilet before we left. I ran back into the house and used the toilet. When I came out, Lisa was storming in, and she was covered in vomit. I was terrified (I have a severe phobia of vomit), so I ran outside to find out what was going on. I coudn't work out if Matt had thrown up on her, or if she'd been sick herself, but either way, Lisa had decided she was coming in the big car. I panicked - if she was in the big car with me, she might be sick, plus she was covered in it already, but if I got in the little car, Matt might throw up on me, and someone had already been sick in there. This, combined with the toilet thing, made me decide I couldn't go.

We all went into town for some supplies - I think we walked, because I don't remember getting in one of the cars. Lisa walked ahead, still covered in sick, mumbling to herself about our friend Ceilidh, sho she somehow blamed for the sick. I managed to eventually be brave enough to tell the mother I couldn't go with them - I told her that it was a private family thing, because the places meant so much to the dad, and thatI felt uncomfortable going with them. The mother was upset, but she said it was okay.

Later on, the family went on the trip on their own. Part of the way through, they decided to go on a boat ride. The older sister was dressed in a huge pink tattered ball-gown for some reason. She fell into the water, and she died - she didn't struggle or anything, she just fell face first and was dead. She was floating on top of the water, face down, and the brother (or possibly the father) shouted out "What do you see?". Even though she was dead, she replied "abject terror".

The dream then seems to skip to a few years later. Gareth and I were in my parents' bedroom, trying to make a phonecall, when the brother walked in (now aged around 25). He said he could rig it up so that we would be able to have free phonecalls and free internet use. He worked on the phone line for ages, before showing us a new plug socket he'd installed, which was hidden underneath the curtain. As he pushed the plug into the socket, he said "Princess Anne's dead".

He asked us to help him wrap up some presents for his parents, as a way of thanking him. I love wrapping up presents, so I said I'd do it. I wrapped some clothes and some books, and the last present was a photograph of the three children, taken a while ago, before the older sister died. It was printed on ordinary paper, and I was reluctant to wrap it up like that in case it got ripped while they unwrapped it. We searched round for ages, and eventually I found a piece of thick card, which we glued it to.

The dream then seemed to skip further - the mother of the family was in a hospital, and her hair was grey, and she looked like she was about 60. She had cancer, and she was about to die. Just before she died, she looked over and saw the younger sister - still looking about 8 years old, and then she smiled and died.

Then it cut back to the scene of the older sister face down in the water, and being asked what she saw. This time, after she said "abject terror", a man and a woman rose up from the bottom of the water and pulled he down. They were both wearing tattered evening wear, and the material and their hair were really flowing under the water. They were both dead, and I had a feeling that this lake she was being pulled into was hell. The water was pitch black as they dived down, and there were all sorts of creepy- looking deep sea fish, like lantern fish, etc. At the bottom of the lake (I think it was a lake because it had a limited area) was a shipwreck, and ll sorts of creatures. The people told the older sister that this was where she had to live forever, and warned her not to sleep under the shipwreck, bacause it might fall on her if one of the bigger fish nudged it. Then, it seemed like credits were about to roll, like on the end of a film, and as it got to the end of that, a huge fish did indeed nudge the shipwreck, and it fell.

    Additional Comments:

I have a feeling that there was much more happening between the oler sister dying, and the internet thing, but I can't remember. This dream was weird, because it kept shifting from me being in it, to me seeing other people's actions. Also, because it kept jumping forward in time - that sometimes happens by a few minutes or so, but not by years, I almost always dream in present day.

It was also weird that there was a credits sequence at the end, and that I happened to wake up as the credits ended (I was woken up by the toilet flushing, so the dream didn't wake me).
