I was at work, and I had a call to go and fix a system in one of our factories. When I arrived, there were a load of doctors in white coats, and they were administering medical assessments for all the factory employees. I was walking around a mezzanine above the factory, where there were loads of doors leading into offices. In every doorway was an employee leaning over a huge bin, with a doctor standing by. All of a sudden, they all started being sick into the bins. I have quite severe emetophobia, so I started freaking out and trying to run away. There was suddenly no way off the mezzanine, and everywhere I turned was another person being sick, while all the doctors said that they needed more vomit samples.

Later on, I had managed to escape, and met my mum and my nan in a car park underneath ground level. My mum dropped me off at home. There was a man in my house - I think he was my boyfriend, though we had only just started going out. He went upstairs into my bedroom, and I followed to see what he was doing. I heard a crash, and he ran out of the bedroom, then the house. I looked inside and saw that he had knocked over some of my make-up and nail varnish. On top of the spilt make-up was a puddle of what appeared to be gold glitter, but I somehow knew that he had vomited the glitter up. Again, I was terrified, and I knew he'd left, and didn't know what to do to get it cleaned up.

I was in London, and I was standing by the Thames, near Waterloo, between the two big bridges. There was some kind of event going on, and there were hundreds of people milling around. Lots of people I knew were there, lts of colleagues past and present, plus lots of strangers. I think we were waiting for something to start - maybe a show or a concert or something. I was there alone, but I was chatting to lots of people. I met a woman, who I chatted to for a while. She was around 40, quite large, and wearing a turquoise vest top. She told me she worked in Sainsburys. She was with her usband, but he didn't speak. After a while, I left the woman and went to chat to more people. I kept bumping into men I knew from work and from my local pub - I seemed to bump into everyone who had ever hit on me or shown an interest in me. They were all flirting, and I started to feel quite confident, and a little bit powerful, knowing I could probably take my pick from all these men. I would chat to each one for a few minutes, then move on to chat to the next one. After a while, someone grabbed my hand, and I looked round to see that it was the woman I had chatted to earlier. She started pulling me back to where we had been standing earlier, saying that she wanted to chat to me again. I realised that she fancied me too, and I felt really awkward - I had completely missed this fact when we had been chatting, and now I was worried I'd given her the wrong idea by being so friendly towards her.

I stood and made polite conversation for a couple of minutes, before I excused myself to go and find a toilet. I knew they were about 5 minutes walk away, and up a couple of flights of stairs, but I was happy for the excuse to get away from the woman. I started to walk, when she called me back. She took my hand again and pulled me over to a door in a nearby wall. It was a disabled toilet, and had a code lock with a digital display. She told me she was registered disabled, so had been given the code for the door, and she would let me in. She typed in the code, then we both went inside - she needed to go too. The door was a huge, heavy, wooden door, and there was a bolt on the inside. Inside the door, there was one toilet in the middle of a concrete room. It was clean enough, but there was something creepy and old about the room. The woman started staring at me, and I was keen to leave this confined space, so I told her I was going to use the toilet first as I was desperate. I sat down on the toilet, and she sat next to me on the floor, with her back against the wall, staring at me. I was really creeped out by this point, and I found I couldn't go. The toilet roll was on a wall just out of my reach, so I asked the woman to pass it to me, but as she got up, I managed to reach it by myself. I accidentally knocked it onto the floor, where it unravelled. I noticed that the loo roll had flowered patterns on it, so I pointed this out to the woman. With her distracted, I was finally able to pee, then I got up.

The woman went to use the toilet, and I went and stood by the door. As I stood there, I heard the code lock being pressed, and realised the bolt wasn't across. Before I could stop it, the door opened and a woman I vaguelly know, Amy, came in. Amy and the other woman clearly knew each other and didn't get on, because they greeted each other tensely. Amy went and stood next to the toilet, waiting for her turn. A couple of seconds later, the door opened again, and a German woman came in and joined the queue. By this point, it was quite cramped, and I wanted to leave. I heard a scratching at the door, and realised someone else was trying to get in, so I opened the door a little and stuck my head out. I saw a gang of young men outside, all wearing leather jackets and tartan shirts. I apologised to them, and said there was a it of a queue, and not much more room inside. I asked if they'd mind waiting outside for a couple of minutes, and we'd be out as soon as possible. They agreed, so I shut the door.

A few seconds later, I heard a strange noise which sounded like a drill. I leaned on the door, and it swung open a little by the hinges. I realised the men had unscrewed the hinges, but I couldn't figure out why. I looked out and saw they had all sorts of toold, including a couple of nail guns. I realised that they hadn't wanted to use the toilet at all, they were planning to nail the door shut and seal us inside. I was terrified, and didn't know what to do. In a moment of self-preservation, I decided to just save myself. I pushed against the door with all my weight, then sprinted out as fast as I could, jumping over the tool bags. One of the men fired a nail gun at me. the nail hit my, but by the time it did so, I had gotten too far away for it to do me any damage. I was wearing quite a thick coat, which was flaring out behind me as I ran. I pulled it down, hoping that it would stop any more nails from hitting me, but the men didn't give chase, they just went back to nailing up the other women inside the toilet.

When I finally got back to the river, I stopped to catch my breath, and realised hardly anyone was around. I suddenly knew something terrible had happened. In the distance, I saw people running, chased by other people. I realised that a portion of the population had suddenly turned bad for some reason, and they were trying to kill or hurt the rest of us. I started to walk towards on of the bridges. I passed a policeman who was standing guard, and reciting in a monotone voice, as if in a trance, "Stay on the main roads, if you want your best chance of survival, stay away from the underground stations". As I walked, I was suddenly hit by what I thought was a handful of pebbles, but when I looked closer I saw they were mint imperials. I looked back and saw two men throwing the sweets at people (they're really hard sweets too, they hurt!). There was a pretty young woman with them, with red hair and a scarf around her head. She also seemed to be in a trance, and she seemed to be leading the two men. One of the men turned to her and said "Did you kill them just because of the sweets?". She slowly turned to look at him, then turned her head back to the front, and just pointed. The men instantly ran off int he direction she was pointing, and she started to slowly walk behind them. I was hit by the sudden realisation that this was the beginning of the end of the world.

    Additional Comments:

The thought that I was going to be boarded up inside the tiny concrete toilet was really terrifying - this was definitely nightmare territory!

I was in London with a group of colleagues, and we were thinking about relocating out business there. My friend Kerrie was there too, and we decided to go exploring. After walking for a while, we went down an alleyway and found ourselves in a grimy underworld area. The alleyway widened, and everything was damp and the colour of rust (looked a bit like something out of Silent Hill). On the left, as we entered the alley, was a staircase which was guarded by two men in suits - I knew they were gangsters. We continued walking, and the alley narrowed again. There was a large pipe on our left, and there were three dead bodies stuffed behind it. They were clearly old - they were essentially skeletons with leathery skin stretched over them - and they were the same rust colour as everything else. We continued to the end of the alleyway, and found ourselves facing three doors. One at the dead end, and two on the right of us. We couldn't go through the doors, so we backtracked.

Just before we reached the bodies, we noticed a wooden staircase heading up and to the left. We started to climb it, and as it curved round, the walls were now wallpapered in green. There was a portrait of a woman on the wall. It was old and damaged, with tears and holes in it. At the top of the stairs was a small landing and another door. We went inside and found ourselves in a small apartment. It only had two rooms - a living room with a kitchen area attached, and a bathroom.  As we entered the room, I started to think someone lived here, then all of a sudden a woman came shrieking out of the bathroom. It was clearly the same woman from the portrait, but she was old now - mid 60s, maybe 70s. She was extremely thin and quite tall, and she looked haggard. She attacked us both, quite fiercely for someone her age. I tried to explain that we hadn't meant to intrude, but she wouldn't listen to us. Eventually, we managed to incapacitate her. I don't know what we did, but she ended up sitting on the closed toilet seat, and she was unable to move. We had damaged her arms too - I think maybe we'd cut her hands off. She was still screaming and flailing, but we squeezed pst her and climbed out of the bathroom window, onto the roof. There were loads of uneven rooftops, as though there were lots of houses nearby. The roofs were all edged with decorative carvings. We climbed for ages, before climbing down a ladder into a marketplace.

The market lined both sides of a street, with stalls in the middle of the street every now and again. We walked through the stalls. I saw an Indian woman selling jewellery and fabrics, and I stopped to buy something - I think it was a cushion. Towards the end of the market was a round stall, which seemed to sell jokes and games, There were men wandering round near the stall, advertising. They were wearing strange belts with animal heads on, designed to look like they were riding on the animals back. The people running the stall were called The Randoms. I don't know why, but they were really important, influential people. They seemed lighthearted, but I knew they could be very dangerous.

I'm not sure what happened next, but I was back where I started with my other colleagues, and a few days had passed. My friend Kevin and I had been tasked with finding a location for our new business. I remembered the creepy underworld I had found, and thought it would probably be cheap there. I told Kev to follow me, and we headed back there. Inside the alleyway, the two security men were still there. I made sure to walk with my head held high, as though I wasn't afraid (even though I was) because I knew that we would need to fit in if we were going to work here. As we continued down the alleyway, we approached the bodies. I had a thought appear in my head; "If it weren't for our feet, we'd be fine". I looked at the bodies and noticed that their feet stuck out under the pipe, and could be seen from the other end of the alleyway. I realised the thought hadn't been my own, but had come from one of the bodies.

We carried on until we got to the three doors at the end of the alley. The one on the dead end was locked. One of the other two doors said "Charge Incident" on the door, and the other was blank. The blank door appeared to be a cupboard. I opened the Charge door, and inside was another body, in the same state as the others, but with a ragged hole in his chest. I realised he was a maintenance man who had died in an electrical accident, and he had just been left there. This really scared me, more than the other bodies, because this one was like a secret we shouldn't have found. We started to backtrack again, and noticed the wooden staircase. I had completely forgotten about what had happened after Kerrie and I had reached this point. As we continued on, I kept noticing things like the portrait, which made me remember bits and pieces of the incident.

We reached the apartment door, and before we went in, I recited a verse about being blind - it just seemed to come out involuntarily, almost like it was a protective charm before we entered the room. We went back inside, and I had a memory of the woman attacking us. We moved into the bathroom, and she was still sitting on the toilet seat, with her hands behind her back. I was really afraid to see her hands, but she didn't show them. She was emaciated, and I knew she couldn't move, and was starving to death. She was really subdued, and let us walk past her to the window. I tilted the glass in the window, and looked out. It was pitch black outside, even though it was daytime. I climbed out onto the roof - carefully, because I couldn't see through the darkness. Once I got onto the roof, it was sunny again. Kev followed me, but instead of being on the decorative roofs I had found before, we were on top of a tiny plain roof. We climbed down, and found ourself back in the marketplace. I couldn't remember what we were there for. I saw the Indian woman, and thought about asking her for help, but I didn't think she would remember me. As we walked through the market, I saw the men advertising for The Randoms, and realised that these were the people I had been leading Kev to. I advised him to buy a funny costume to wear before the meeting but he refused.

There was an unrelated scene at the end of the dream, where I was standing on the platform of an old-fashioned train station, waving goodbye to my mother. There was something involving a kitten too.
