I dreamed that Alan and I were at a place like Sierraville Hot Springs. We were going down to swim in the hot springs, but the springs was iced over with very thick ice. The water was also mixed with an icy chlorine natural swimming pool. It made it feel very tense in the air because something just wasn't quite right about the feeling of that place- people come to those environments to relax and be surrounded by the health of nature, not to have the beautiful waters polluted by chlorine...

At any rate, some people tried to help us break the ice through in a spot close to where we guessed the authentic spring to be. We wanted to get to the good water underneath (or at least as good of water as could be found close to the source of the spring before it got mixed in with the chlorine. Once we finally broke through the ice, we were only able to make a very small hole for two people to go into together. I do not ever remember being in that hole together with Alan. I vaguely remember maybe ice skating around the pool to try to get a better look at the pool and the scenery. It was snowy and white and winter.

We did this every day for a couple of days. The weird part about being in the hole is that once someone got into the water through the little hole that we had created, the ice would eventually break all over the pool and melt away making it possible for others to get into the pool too. Every day we would go down there, but we would never hang out with each other. Alan would always hang out with other people.

It was Christmastime. The last day we were there, I took Alan down after the spring had closed to the public because I wanted to show him the decorations on the rocks and the tiled stepping stones and the trees that were set up. I was completely taken by them, and I wanted to share that with Alan, but he was not interested at all. Instead, he was dismissive.

Ice Climbing, Visit with Benson, Back to Build & Sandy Hike

I dreamed that I was with my mom going out with her on a hike in the desert. We had to climb a tall, steep hill to get to the bouldery top. When we got to the hill, it was even more steep than I had imagined. I could not tell the colors very well in this part of the dream, so I didn't distinguish that there were snow drifts we had to climb up. We had no climbing gear, so we dug our fingers into the side of the frozen snowbank and proceeded to inch our way diagonally up what appeared to be a path of some sort. There was a little ledge for our feet sometimes, but not much of a foothold at all. The side of the cliff had a small but dangerous overhang, so although most of our climb was vertical, there was a part of the time that we were climbing with our backs pointing toward the ground. When we came to a part we could walk around freely, I found VERY steep snowy path that led straight up to the top. We were dismayed but began the climb anyway. I do not know if we ever reached the top because my dream changed.

All of a sudden, I was hanging out at Benson's house waiting for Zak to get there. We were watching TV in his room on his bed and not doing much else. We did that for so long that I had to pee really bad. For some reason, we decided to take a shower. There was nothing sexual about the shower at all, and Benson looked very shy. He peed in the shower, so i peed too. Then we went back to his messy room to watch more videos.

Then I went back to work for Build.com, but it was in a fancy skyscraper building with lots of windows, light and open space inside. I remember the stairway/escalator up to the offices on the second floor was spacious. No one would orient me at to how to do the job, even though there were four managers or more who could have done it. Instead, I got thrown into a group of ppl who had to fill out a questionnaire of 7 questions about whether or not to fire Ben Siam. I guess he had had sex with a girl who worked there and was in serious trouble over it. They were bringing focus groups into one of the 2nd floor offices and having the groups fill out the questionnaire.

It was a little horizontal white hand-flyer sized piece of paper with black ink questions. We were given pencils to fill them out. The groups were being facilitated by a man with crazy Einstein hair. There was a girl sitting next to me who had befriended me at work, and she told me to circle 'True' on one of the questions (which by the way, the questions ran backwards on the flyer. There were two columns of questions, and #1 was on the right side and #7 was on the left). I was hesitant to do it, but I wanted her to trust and like me, so I did. Then Elise came into the room and told me to circle 'False' for that question instead. I pretended not to have understood the question, so I erased it and hesitantly circled 'False'. The girl who had told me to circle 'True' was just finishing up and turning in her questionnaire and saw me do that.

Then all of a sudden, we were no longer in the office at a table, we were in a campsite at night sitting at a picnic table. There were people sitting to my right, and at the end of the table were the proctors of the questionnaire. They felt like they were guards. They were also being super loud, and I could not concentrate so I stood up and yelled at them to stop, then immediately asked them very politely to quiet down if they must continue talking.

Then all of a sudden I was hiking to a strange place- not on Earth- and slipping in the sand on the hills. There was a sandstone bridge that twisted and turned in the middle. I was hiking with a couple of guys (I think one of them may have actually been Guy) and leading the group. When I got to the turn on the bridge, it had been washed out. There was lots of loose sand and it was a bit hilly. I slipped in it and almost fell off the walkway. Some men coming out from the other side saved me and pulled me up. Then they pointed out a huge spider on a wall a little ways off that our path was leading us to. Eventually, we would have to walk under it. The spider was huge and looked like a tarantula- light brown, with dark brown hair, and rusty red highlights. I could see there was a person attempting to cross the path beneath it. I was very afraid of it, and that's all I remember.

    Additional Comments:

Last night I was reading about Jungian soul images and shadow images in dreams.

In the snow, I never felt the coldness even though my fingers turned red.

During the hike in the sandstone ridge at the end, it was solving one puzzle after another to carry on to our destination. I don't recall what we had to do though.

    Camping and Flying

For part of the dream, I was with my parents on their property. My father and I had set up our camping tents by the side of the driveway. Mom had joined us later on during the day to set her tent up as well. We looked like hobo's camping out under the manzanita trees. There was something that had to do with the waterfall as well, but I can't remember what we were doing down there.

Later during the dream, I was over the hill by the spring with a guy (my ex-lover, I suppose, who didn't resemble anyone I know in waking life). It took a lot longer to trek to the spring in my dream than it does in real life, and he and I had actually led a group of people there to camp out. We arrived far ahead of everyone else and began to set up our camp. There was a wooden structure that had been built, with a platform up in the air, and I believe a slide on one side so that people could get down in a hurry (very adultish, I know).

I began to help people unpack their gear to make camp, and I found an unattended bag that I began to riffle through. My ex-lover walked by as I pulled open the pulls from what appeared to be a sleeping bag, only to discover underwear in it. I pretended not to see it and fumbled around with the strap that opened it while asking him if he knew who this bag belonged to. It turns out that it was his. I put it away non-chalantly, digging deeper in the bag for his real sleeping gear.

At one point before the people arrived while we were still scouting out the area we began to discuss our relationship to one another; I think we may have even almost kissed, but that's when the people in our group arrived.

I woke up from that dream and fell asleep to another. I was at the airport with my father and a bunch of other people. We were pilfering around doing God knows what when we noticed that there was a new plane in the hangar. It was Steve Larsen's I believe. Turns out it was almost done being restored... but this plane was not your average airplane. It had a bus on it for the cabin, and bright yellow wings. When we noticed it, the finishing touches were being made, and Steve asked my dad to be the first to fly it.

We all went out to the tarmac and watched my dad get into the plane and taxi it out from the main hangar. When it got about 50 feet away from the hangar, a huge gust of wind shortened its takeoff to about 10 feet, and the plane was whisked up into the air. It was crazy how acrobatic the plane was in the air (and it looked dangerously out of control!). I knew my dad was an amazing pilot, and that if anyone could tame this beast, it was him.

When he landed the plane and got out, he was exhilerated. That's the end of the second dream.
