The Saurian's Loyal Servant
Level of Lucidity: N/A Level of Cohesiveness:

Can't remember where this dream actually begins, because so much happened, and the plot seemed rather complicated. I didn't seem to be a part of the action most of the time, rather I observed and knew what was happening. Nearer the beginning of this dream I was in a small but very tidy room that was brightly lit with track lighting, and this room had big windows on two sides (a long side and a short side as the room was rectangular) and the windows faced outwards to a very large interior building. I forget what was in there, but I get the feeling this is all high tech stuff, like submarines, military equiptment and super computers and the like. Everything had to be sterile at all time to protect the stuff. In the room with me was this creature that was like a man, but had the reptiallian features of a dinosaur, most like one of the raptor species. It wore ornamental clothing, was perhaps a little taller than the average man, and spoke in perfect English even through it's numerous enormous pointed teeth. There was someone else in the room who may have been handing the dinosaur a report in a minila folder, the dinosaur was in charge here, whatever his name was I can't recall. The other person leaves and the dinosaur, in what I knew to be in an unusually good mood, was making jokes, and for a change not being tyranical and scaring the heck out of anyone. Yet another person comes in and asks the dinosaur something, and I forget what the conversation was about but it occured to me the dinosaur was drunk or high on drugs or something, and wasn't really comprehending what the man was saying to him, and the man, recognizing this began to take advantage of the usually unmalleable saurian, and was dealing out subtle insults. I caught them immediately, and for a moment feared the saurain would realize what was being said to him and maul the man, but instead the saurian laughs and pat the man on the back as if they were good buddies. I thought it was funny, too, I didn't like the creature either, but it would seem I was in leauge with him, though, reluctantly, I had no choice but to serve this meglomaniac. The man leaves and the suarian laughs some more, and I smile. For a moment I hold out omy hands in front of me and I am horrified to see I have these white pincers (like a lobster) where my hands should be. I think to myself "WHAT THE HELL!?" But the image fades away and my hands do look normal but they are incased in white plastic, what I would call, Freddy Kruger gloves. I am much relieved. I scrath my head three or four times to take care of an itch with the stiff, but none too sharp Kruger gloves. I am glad nothing happened. (now the scene switches) I can't tell where I am, but I seem to be just observing the action, but close to the characters. The saurian seems to be to be Anakin from starwars (as an adult, but not yet Darth Vader), it's like they switch around during this part of the dream. As Anakin the saurian is presented from some invisible force a little strip of metal that looks a lot like a binder like the kind I sometimes use to clasp copies together at work *the kind where you put holes in the paper, and then a squared off u-shaped prong is put through the holes, and then a strip of metal with a hole on each end is put over the ends of the prongs and little sliding clips are put into place to keep the prongs down*. It looked just like one of the clips with the holes on each end, but the holes were misisng. Anakin/Suarian monster seemed to hold this mysteriously floating object with great esteem, and holds out his hand to accept the gift (which I am guessing was some sort of gift from some supernatural source-like who else makes things float in mid-air). With great relish the Anakin/Saurian makes haste to go see one of his servants in the basement. In the basement I see the Saurian (now back in his reptile form) talking to his servant, a very pale man with red-rings around his eyes, and a bent back. I can't remember the dialoge, of course, but the saurian wants the servant to make a seter/weapon and include the weird little thing that he mysterious force presented to him. The servant listens carefully and agrees to make the thing. I watch him as he works, and with great skill he makes this weird sort of staff where the funny little clip thing would slide in and stay put. I was impressed with his skill and precision. I watch as he guided a laser to cut a perfect hole out of the middle of the staff where something was going to fit. There was the red glow of hot metal all around. The saurain was still there drooling over the beautiful thing. It was about then that I began to know what was really going on. Specifically with the servant. This was a man who had been broken. He had sunk this low and was ashamed of what he was doing. His loyalty in the past having never been either aknowledged or rewarded had sort of given up. He wanted to serve someone, and it would seem no one treated him well ever. I didn't know how he had some to serve the monster, but it was the bottom of the barrel for him anyway, at least he couldn't sink any lower. And the reason that the servant tried so hard was that he was desperate for any compliments. The saurian was trying to get the servant to finnish faster, and the servant, being as diplomatic and tactful as possible was very slying trying to get the creature to notice the the great skill and work that went into making this thing of beauty, how it has taken years of practice to get such machines to work as if part of him, so desperare was he for a compliment, but the saurain didn't care a lick about the servant or his great loyalty to him. The servant looked as if he was near death anyway, he had been working down in there for a long time and had exposed himself to hazardous chemicals for the sake of his art. The saurain only had eyes of the objects he created. The servant realizes that he will not get any compliments from his cruel master, and resigns himself again, miserable and unhappy with yet another missed opportunity to prove his worth. I felt very sorry for the servant, and I was angry with the weird saurian for not at least patting his servant on the back and telling him what a good job he'd done. I see the saurain slide the weird little strip of metal into the place where it was supposed to go. That's all I remember.
