Painted Door

I don't remember a lot from this dream, but an item that stood out had a lot to do with paint. The first incident where it showed up was in a department store. It would seem I was looking for a good book to read. I stumbled across the new Harry Potter book (which hasn't been published yet in real life) and I was very excited, thinking to myself..."well it's about time!" and I picked it up to buy, and I went looking for some other books to buy. I remember finding a few others that I also meant to buy, but in the store I am also looking for something to wear. No one seems to notice but I am in just my underwear, and it's very embarrassing. But even I get distrated from my situation when I notice this girl walking arm in arm with her boy friend and she seems to have all these pale yellow spots all over her shirt. About this time I was outside of the store (I don't remember having the books anymore or having paid for them) and on closer examination I see that she's been splattered with paint. There is even paint on her skin, and I saw her brushing some paint that had dried and peel off of her skin on the end of her nose. She made a comment about the painters being very careless. I was glad to learn she didn't have some sort of horrible skin cancer or something. Later on I am back at the place I live (not the real place I live, but where I live in my dream). It was a crowded place, and I shared it with several people. The door is what catches my attention. It is very thick, but not because the wood is thick, it is just thick from having been painted and repainted many times. It had to have had a few thousand coats of paint. The door was pitted and really bad looking. It still functioned fine as a door, but it was too much paint. In some places some people had peeled some peices of the many layed paint off the door, so it was also pitted in many places, and near along the top of the door it had been peeled all the way down to the original wood. I don't remember anything else right now.
