At first it seemed like I was at a large outdoor gathering. I understood there was going to be a music concert. I see some people here I know (but I don't know in real life). There is also a lake nearby. For some reason I end up on the opposite side of the lake, and I feel like I need to leave because I don't have tickets to see the concert. Some friends give me tickets because apparently either their friends couldn't make it or something like that. In any case, I had tickets, but I needed to get back to the other side of the lake. I see some people walking straight into the lake, fully clothed, and then they became otters and swam smoothly the rest of the way.
I decide that that is the way I will get to the other side. It's not really so far, I can see the other side, but I then observe what looks like an enormous alligator tail up in the air, and then it comes down to the ground. It's so large that I wonder why the ground didn't shake. I feel a bit scared, but I feel that I must keep going. I walk in to the water, and when I am up to my shoulders I become an otter. At first I swim with my hands and feet, and I have to really work hard. I don't seem to be making good progress. Then I remember I have a tail and I could use that to propell myself forward with ease. However, it's hard getting used to this appendage. I have to feel it is there, and at first it is very difficult, like pressing a limb back and forth through jell-o or something, but at last it becomes easy, and I propel through the water like the other otter folk.
I approach the opposite shore line, and I can reach the bottom of the lake. I can see into the water and see the bottom of the lake is a light brown, with stones in it. I reach into the sand and feel around for stones to dig up. I find something in the sand and pull it up to look at it. I am mildly surprised to discover I have sifted up some tiny bones. I think I discard them and as I swim along I sift for more things. The closer I get to shore the more dense the stuff is in the bottom. I am nearly to the shore and I lift up a handfull of "more" bones. I look into the water, and I see that the bottom of the lake, all around the shore, is nothing but bones, millions of little bones.
The bones look like they're all leg and arm bones of some small animals, like turtles or maybe racoons, but among the bones I also find what could only be skulls. The skulls do not resemble any sort of animal I have ever seen. Some of the bones appear to be from animals that had multiple heads, as some were still connected by surviving ligaments. I hold one of these weird bunch of skulls under the water and watch as the jaws slowly open and close with the movement of the water. I am not sure if I should be horrified or disgusted. I was standing on bones and had a huge handfull of bones.
When I step out of the water onto the shore the alligator is there. It's postively huge, and it seems like everyone walks closer and closer to it, though I think rationally everyone should be running as far away from this monster as possible. I don't feel afraid, though intellectually I think I should be. The alligator begins to sing in a deep baritone voice, and it beats his tail up and down to the music.
I don't remember anything else of the dream.
I haven't the slightest idea what this dream could be about.

Memories of this dream are fading fast. I seem to be in a multi-level building. It has lots of large rooms with huge windows. There is an emphasis on letting the outside in, and the rooms are sparsely furnished, but it everywhere you go still looks grand and beautiful. I do not know what the function of the building is. It seemed to be a lot of grand mostly empty rooms maybe to used for balls or company meetings. There are also enormous rooms in place of hallways with very high ceilings where there are some objects of art. I can't remember what they were, but they would have been large artifacts, probably of cultural significance, but these objects would also be sparsely located. Like the theme is space, without looking empty or boring. I have to walk around a lot to get from one place to another. I seem to have something to do with a small group of people. I forget now, but I want to say that in my dream they are family members, (though they would not have resembled my real family memebers in any way). I remember that among this group I was the only one who could do some fairly fantastic things. I could change my shape and float through walls at will. I remember using that trick inside the huge building, to get from a lower floor to a higher one, where I would meet my family.
It was wanted of me to get something. I forget what it was exactly but it was something of great value, and it was something we needed badly to survive. I think it was for getting food, and I think I remember it was gold I was after. Next thing I remember was flying out of the window in the shape of a large bird. While up in the air I was a little self conscious about being seen. I knew I must look very out of place to an observer, but I couldn't help being a huge bird, there was little I could do about my general size. I hoped that no one would notice or that if they did look they would just gape and then go back to whatever it was they were doing.
I have to go very high to get around what seemed like hundreds of power lines and tree branches, which were too close together for me to pass through easily. I remember feeling anxious because it looked like I would have to get pretty high to get to where I was headed, but luckily the powerlines thined out and I was able to get lower to the ground. I begin to feel very hungry and decided I needed to find a snack before I continued on my quest for gold.
I find a large lake and head towards it. I land, and look among some trees which have some sort of fruit hanging from them. I forget what kind of fruit it was. It was red, but not apples and too big for cherries. I try to grab one, but it seems impossible in my current form, so I think I must have taken my true form for a while, because I grasp one of the fruits and tatse it. I don't remember for sure, but I think I found the fruit bland, stringy, or something or another was not satisfying about it. Suddenly I feel that I am in danger. I decide to jump into the lake to escape.
I regret that immediately. The lake is brown and I brush up against slimey grass. I am too alarmed to submerge, but I also feel I had better stay in the water all the same. Something needly bites my right hand. I yank it up but have to put my hand back into the water. Whatever it was bites me a couple more times. Nothing serious, but it is scary. After I calm down I think I might take the shape of an otter, so I can swim better. I do that, but I am not sure I succeeded. I am floating on my back and lift my feet out of the water so I can have a look at them. Sure enough, they were furry brown webbed feet with claws (not sure if otters have webbed feet or not). So then I was sure I did it. Shape changing didn't feel like anything, so it was hard to tell if I did it. I swim away, and I can't remember details after that.

* I talked into a mini tape recorder to save the details of this dream upon awaking. I usually use pen to
paper, but I think this method might be a little better.
I am in a mall where at the center there is a pool/fountain thing. There is a special feature today
involving trained animals. A group of people form around the pool. Somewhere right before all the
people get there and the show starts a man, who is a participant in the show, pulls a semi-clear
strawberry shaped ballon out of case and drops it on the floor and sort of kicks it lightly so it will be
under the mini bleachers that are set there for the people to sit on. I think there was another red
colored ballon/ball thing but I forget what it looked like. I want to see the show, and for some reason I
pick up the strawberry shaped toy and try to hand it back to the men who are in the pool. They don't
want it back yet, it's supposed to stay under the beachers because they're going to retrieve it as part of
the show. So I leave it alone this time.
At first the trained animal appears to be a seal. The seal is on a platform above the pool, just like two
to three feet out of the water in the middle of the pool. But then suddenly the seal is not there
anymore, and the trained animal is a large otter. The two men trainers appear to have weird
instruments that have lights blinking inside of them, and I come to understand that it is a series of
colored lights flashed into the water that the otter responds to. However it quicly changes from a real
live otter to an otter puppet, and then it's a real live monket. Pretty confusing, but in the dream it
seems seamless and normal.
At some point a couple of butler-dressed men appear and beging handing out fancy refreshments. I
accept what looks like a very ordinary saltine craker with very tiny shrimp on it, and a minirature
shishkabob with shrimp an asparagus bits on it. I get these two things from the two different butlers. I
think they are both very good. I notice a man who is on the exact opposite side of the pool also taking
one of the shrimp/asparagus skewers and not liking it. He also seems to be taking it very badly, and
throws the food to a dog that is somewhere a few yards away. I don't see the dog, but I am appalled
by the mans behavior. The refreshements looks so nice and whoever made them must be horrified by
this mans over-reaction and disgust over what I thought was a really nice meal, and that this would be
very insulting. I felt sorry for whoever made the snacks.
Back at the pool, it seems I am alternatively outside looking into the pool, and then sometimes in the
pool looking out at the edge. Whethere is was a monkey or an otter, I did know it was all faked, but
none the less everyone was thrilled and entertained, and the whole show was brilliant. People were
clapping and cheering, and I was one of them.
This dream was very random, and baffeling. The animal, the seal, seems to have cropped up a few
times more recently, and I wonder what that could mean. The seal shows up again in another dream
from last night that I haven't written yet.
