I was walking alone down a road on my home town called 207. Its
a cert commercial highway sort of road and noone walks it usually.
The buildings to my left, which are public storage facilities and
warehousing spaces in reality, are ramshackle warehouses with
indescript businesses working out of them. They also have slides built
from roof to floor zigzagging down the sides of the buildings. There
are two of these buildings with slides, one of them is very rundown,
rusty and broken, the other looks like it could work without killing
anyone.
As I'm walking along, an Indian man walks by me towards the
direction I came. He twiddles his thumbs and attempts to look busy,
walking in a jangling sort of way that says "I walk here a lot." I turn to
watch him and I'm transported to a mountain, which is covered in
snow more than six feet deep. The man that just passed me is now
just a hole in the snow where he's fallen into it. I don't seem to feel
the snow under my feet, or really embody myself anymore. I become
an observer like a film camera watching what unfolds.
Over the precipace of the mountain, about twenty feet back from
where the man fell into the snow, a giant chimpanzee in a tattered
white suit menaces the mountain. Similar to godzilla. He attempts to
step on the hole where the man was, in doing so, no doubt crushing
him. But there is something a bit movie magic about the chimpanzee.
He is not as tall was he appears to be, and I as the camera am doing a
lot of moving around to get the angle right to make him look huge
and impressive. Ie: shooting him from as low as his feet, pointing t the
camera up so he looks very tall. I say camera but its not as though I
was holding one, my view was the camera.
I watch the chimp stagger off into the mountains, his tattered suit,
I notice has a rip just down the seam on the back. I think to myself
this is a crap movie of some kind. Just then the Chimpanzee is riding a
bicycle down a ski slope, and I am following over his shoulder. He is
still fairly "giant" but seems more at risk of being hit by other skii-ers.
There is a period of transition where a lot of things shift.
I become the chimpanzee, and my inner thoughts go from "this
movie is very bad for a horror movie." To "bike bike bike. Run run run.
Pick up the leaves pick up the leaves."
The bike becomes rollerblades then just running.
The mountain and snow gives way to a dirt path surrounded by
bushes and trees. As I run through a wall of bushes I grab them and
pull them over my head. Chanting as I do so "grab the leaves." I crawl
under them and come out at the side of a creek in my home town. In
it, a very strange group of my friends are wading in the water. They
ask me if I want to hike with them later. They use a name for
somewhere specific that doesn't exist in reality. But in the dream gave
me a full sense of the place they were talking about. It was some sort
of gravel pit high up on a mountain above our town, and there was
some contention about who goes there and why l, and I think I had
been of the party that voted in favor of going to the hiking spot that
was in competition with it. There's also the sense that there is
something scientist/secret at the center of the gravel pits. Like an old
factory or mansion. Something that goes deep into the earth.
I resign myself to going with them and take a little time to carve
out some time in my schedule inbmy thoughts so I wont double book
it. I notice that koi -fish are jumping upstream of my friends. They
take little notice. But then I point put an octopus- deep red and about
the size of my torso- they all either move away or closer. I try and
hook it with the leaves that I grabbed as the chimp. It avoids my
primitive fishing rod and swims away.

I walk along a body of water similar to the creek in the previous
dream. It doesn't exist in reality, but has the feel of something ive
known all my life, driven by it, seen it, or swam in it. Yellow reedy
grasses surround the creek, and a short wooden dock juts out into the
water on the opposite side. I intend to swim, but before I even get my
shoes off I notice a woman emptying a plastic tub of purple liquid into
the creek. I call across "don't do that. Its bad for the lake to pollute it
like that." I note myself on having said lake though I know full well its
a creek.
"But" she says back, "its just soda."
It looks like it could be grape soda, but the way it foams like soap
and pours reminds me of an industrial kitchen degreasser ive worked
with at my previous jobs. "Just the same," I tell her, "its bad for the
animals and fishes and the watershed." By this time ive walked put
onto a dock on my side of the creek that points towards hers.
She puts down the plastic tub. Doesn't really apologize, but stops
what she's doing.
I turn and go. I am naked from head to toe, as if id just gone
skinny dipping. My clothes are bunched to my front, and I think a little
bit about this woman seeing my butt. as I walk away I notice that the
creek is actually just next to my driveway, and I walk out onto my
road.
Additional Comments:
I thought it was very interesting how I never went swimming, but something about this interaction with this woman made it as though I had.

My classmate M has a huge party at her house. A asks me if she
can spend the night with me, she doesn't want to drive home. I am
very excited by this prospect.
M and I find ourselves on the river, separated from the boardwalk
carnival. There is a ferry that will bring us there, but to get on it, we
have to crawl out onto a floating platform, which is rubbery and
moves on thee water. I later see its because the ferries sail over it. We
miss the first one. But get on the second one. Nothing is right inside
of it. We're thrown around, there aren't seats. I fall down a chute that
looks like its been made for defication or vomitting into. Its very
disorienting, and uncomfortable. I can see glimpses of the boardwalk,
brightly lit and excitign out of the windows. But we don't seem to be
getting any closer.
Eventually M and I are on land, opposite the carnival. We give up
on going there. There's also some sort of mystery surrounding the
chicken factory that's behind us on this side of the river. Huge
Pipelines run just above the water pumping, I assume chicken grease
down the river. We are picked up by an affiliate of the company who
takes us in a rolls Royce to M's mansion party.
The house is bedlam. The streets are filled with partiers, holes have
been kicked in the walls. Its nuts. M tells me shes got a bong that will
transform me into a horse if I smoke out of it. So of course we gather
on her front porch, and make a small circle around it. She starts it for
me and I am chewing on something that I have to swallow real quick
before I take a hit. I do so, then get up to find A before she leaves. M
asks me to try and transform into the horse. In my mind it will be a
black stallion. I try to do so. But am stuck in being human. I suggest
maybe I'm too drunk as well and its preventing me from getting as
high as id need to be.
Sensing the party is disbanding and hearing M's parents rail her for
the mess. I search for A desperately to spend the night with her in
some sort of assuredly sexual come down from all the hullabaloo of
the party. Nothing would beat some quiet, relaxed time with her just
then. But I cant find her. She mustve been kicked out when M's
parents got home.
I search outside and a procession of some sort is gathering outside
M's house. They are performing some sort of ritual, or show in which
chanting and acting is involved. The dream starts to fall apart and the
chicken business owner returns for a final few story elements which
felt like the ending of a scooby doo episode. Very many cheesy jokes.
